How to send a simple fax?

Press the FAX key to display the basic screen. Adjust settings (Original, Resolution, Quality, Contrast) if necessary. Enter the recipient's number via the keypad or a programmed key. Place the original in the feeder or on the platen. Press START to begin transmission.

How to use abbreviated dialing?

First register numbers in abbreviated numbers via Directory > Prog. No > Abbreviated numbers. To send, press Keypad > Abbreviated then enter the code (00-99 or *00-*99). The recipient's name appears. Confirm with START.

How to program a delayed transmission?

During a communication or printing, press Delayed on the screen. Set the desired time in Advanced functions > Delayed. The document will be sent at the scheduled time, ideal for taking advantage of reduced rates.

What to do if sending fails?

An error message appears. Press STOP/CANCEL. The document may be kept in memory for retransmission (if enabled). Check the line, number, and recipient's status. Refer to the Cannot send messages section (p.12-2) for error codes.

How to adjust resolution and quality?

From the basic screen, press Mode. Choose Resolution: Normal (standard text), Fine (small details), or Ultra-Fine (fine graphics). For Quality: Text, Text/Photo, or Photo. Contrast can be Auto, Light, Normal, or Dark.

How to receive faxes automatically?

Ensure the Reception mode is set to Automatic in the Administrator mode. The fax machine will answer automatically and print documents. If paper runs out, the document will be stored in substitution memory.

How to clean the fax machine?

Turn off and unplug the device. Clean the platen glass and feeder with a slightly damp soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive products. For interior cleaning, contact customer service.

How to print the communication journal?

Access Administrator mode (press [CONTROL] then settings). Select Print reports and choose Communication journal. Press START to print.

How to set up a confidential mailbox?

In Directory > Prog. No > Mailbox reception, create a mailbox with an access code. To send a confidential document, use the Mailbox transmission function in applications. The recipient must enter the code to print.

What to do in case of a paper jam?

Open the cover of the feeder or printer (depending on the copier). Gently remove the jammed paper without tearing. Close the cover. The error screen disappears. If the problem persists, consult the copier manual or contact customer service.
