How to descale the ThermoSense 320 Clear kettle?

Use a mixture of water and white vinegar (or citric acid) in the kettle. Bring to a boil, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Do not use abrasive products. Perform this operation every 1 to 2 months depending on water hardness.

The kettle does not turn on, what to do?

First check that the kettle is properly plugged in and that the swivel base is securely connected. Make sure the switch is in the on position. If the problem persists, the dry boil protection indicator may have been triggered: let the appliance cool down before using it again. Contact customer service if the fault remains.

How to set the desired temperature?

Press the temperature setting button (usually marked 'Temp' or with levels). The default selection is 100°C. Available temperatures are 40°C, 60°C, 80°C, and 100°C. The display shows the chosen temperature. The kettle heats until it reaches the set point and then maintains the temperature if the keep warm function is activated.

What is the maximum capacity of the kettle?

The maximum capacity is 1.7 liters. Do not exceed the maximum level indicated on the transparent window to avoid overflow during boiling.

How to clean the anti-scale filter?

Remove the removable filter located in the spout. Wash it under running water with a soft brush. If limescale is stubborn, soak the filter in a solution of water and white vinegar for 30 minutes, then rinse. Put it back in place after drying.

The kettle stops before boiling, why?

This may be due to excessive limescale on the heating element: perform a descaling. Also check that the kettle is not too empty (the minimum level must be reached). Finally, the overheat protection may have been activated: let it cool before restarting.

Can I use the kettle to heat water for a baby bottle?

Yes, you can set the temperature to 40°C (ideal temperature for infant formula). Make sure to use drinking water and follow hygiene instructions. The kettle does not sterilize water, so you must use already boiled water for infants.

How to activate the keep warm function?

After setting the desired temperature, press the 'Keep Warm' button (or corresponding symbol). The indicator lights up and the kettle keeps the water at the chosen temperature for up to 30 minutes. To deactivate, press the button again or turn off the appliance.

The display shows 'Err', what to do?

The 'Err' code indicates a malfunction of the temperature sensor or electronics. Unplug the kettle, wait a few minutes, and plug it back in. If the error persists, contact Cecotec after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair yourself.

The kettle makes a loud noise while heating, is it normal?

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.

• Instruction manual Before using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean it. To do this, fill it as full as possible with water and bring it to the boil. When the water is boiling, discard it. Repeat the process a second time. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outer surface.

3. OPERATION

1. Place the kettle on a flat surface.
2. To fill it, first remove it from the base and open the lid. Then, add the desired amount of water and close the lid. The water level must be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks. If the water level does not exceed the "MIN" mark, the kettle will switch off before the water boils.

Note: do not fill the kettle above the "MAX" mark, as water may spill out of the spout while boiling. Make sure the cover is well placed before plugging the appliance into the mains.

1. Place the kettle on the base.
2. Connect the power cable to a plug socket. Next, switch on the kettle by operating the lever. It will start up and start boiling the water. The kettle and the indicator light will automatically switch off when the water has boiled. If you wish to boil the water again, wait at least 30 seconds before operating the lever again. You can turn the kettle off at any time by operating the lever or by removing it from the base.

Note: make sure that there is nothing obstructing the lever and that the lid is securely in place. Otherwise, the kettle will not start.

Note: be careful when pouring water, as you may burn yourself. Do not open the kettle cover while the water is hot.

Dry boiling protection

If you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the dry boiling protection will automatically switch off the appliance. If this happens, allow the kettle to cool down before filling it with cold water for reuse.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

NOTE: always unplug the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

1. Never immerse the kettle, power cord or base in water or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
2. Clean the body of the kettle with a damp cloth or sponge, never use abrasive products.

Warning: do not use chemicals, steel wool or abrasive detergents to clean the kettle body, as these may damage its finish.

Removal of limescale deposits

Descale the kettle regularly, as mineral deposits from tap water can form limescale on the bottom of the kettle, adversely affecting the kettle's lifespan and performance. To descale the kettle, you can use a commercial descaling agent and follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. Another option is to follow the instructions below using white vinegar:

1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then add water to the solution so that it completely covers the bottom of the kettle. Leave it to act overnight.
2. Discard the mixture and then fill the kettle with clean water up to the maximum level. Boil the water and then discard it. Repeat this procedure several times until the vinegar smell has disappeared.

Note: you can remove any remaining stains on the inside of the spout by rubbing with a damp cloth.
