How to descale my Cecotec ThermoSense 200 Woody kettle?

Pour a mixture of white vinegar and water (half and half) up to the maximum level. Boil, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. You can use citric acid according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Why won't my kettle turn on?

Check that the kettle is properly placed on its base and that the cord is plugged in. Make sure the lid is properly closed. If the problem persists, the dry boil safety system may have activated: let the appliance cool down before trying again.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the appliance when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.

3. OPERATION

Basic instructions for using the kettle

• The refilled water level must be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
• Switch the kettle off before removing it from the base.
• Close the cover and make sure it is securely closed.
• The base and exterior of the kettle must not get wet.
• The body of the appliance must fit the base.
• Do not open the cover when pouring.
• Be careful when opening the cover to avoid splashing the condensed water that is already on the cover.

Before using the kettle for the first time

Before using the kettle for the first time, rinse it thoroughly.

Then, proceed as follows:

1. Fill the kettle halfway with water. Do not add any other products.
2. Next, switch on the kettle using the power switch. The indicator light will light up indicating that the water is heating up.
3. After boiling the water, the appliance will switch off automatically.
4. Lift the kettle carefully and empty the water into the sink. Avoid splashing water, as it is hot, and it could burn you.
5. The kettle is now ready for use.

Using the appliance

1. Place the base on a flat surface.
2. Fill the kettle with water (do not add any other product). Note: do not overfill. Please note the water level indicator on the viewing window.
3. Lay the cover.

5. Only connect the kettle to a properly installed 230 V~ 50 Hz safety socket. Note: check if the voltage you are going to use is the same as that of the kettle.
6. Press the power switch to start the kettle. Note: the indicator light on the switch will light up indicating that the water is heating up.
7. After boiling the water, the indicator light will switch off automatically. Note: be careful, you could get burned.
8. Do not open the cover when pouring.

Note: safe use: the appliance features a safety system that automatically switches the kettle off when water boils.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before cleaning the kettle, unplug it and allow it to cool down.
• Clean the housing of the appliance with a slightly damp sponge or cloth.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal brushes or any other object that may scratch the surface.

Cleaning the filter

If necessary, clean the anti-scale filter (Fig. 2) with a soft, damp brush.

Descaling

• Depending on the quality of the water in your area, limescale deposits may form inside the appliance, so it is advisable to remove them regularly.
• Any warranty claims will be void if the appliance malfunctions due to insufficient descaling.

To perform a correct descaling, follow the steps below:

1. A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml of vinegar is suitable for descaling.
2. Pour in the descaling solution.
3. Switch on the appliance until the solution reaches boiling temperature.
4. Leave it on for a short period of time.
5. To clean the main body after descaling, rinse it thoroughly with clean water.

NOTE:

• During descaling, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation and do not inhale vinegar fumes.
• Do not pour descaling products into enamelled sinks.

Storage

• Make sure the appliance is completely cool and dry before storing.
• Wrap the power cable around the base for storage.
• Store the kettle in a cool, dry place.
