3.4.1 Thermostat knob

4 3 5 2 0 1

  1. The internal temperature of the appliance is controlled with the thermostat knob (6) placed on the side wall of the appliance compartment.
  2. The internal temperature of the appliance can be adjusted by turning the thermostat knob (6) to the right or left.
  3. The marks on the knob are not actual temperature values in the fridge but temperature grades. "OFF" means cooling is STOPPED, "5" indicates the lowest temperature setting. Turn the knob from the "1" position to the "5" position, and the temperature will decrease continuously. You can switch the thermostat knob (6) to a position suitable for your requirements.
  4. Turn the knob to the "3" position for normal use.

3.5 Defrosting

When the appliance is operated for a period of time, the inner surface of the freezer will be covered with a layer of frost. This may increase electricity consumption and reduce the cooling effect. Therefore, you should defrost it immediately. After defrosting, clean the water accumulated in the drip container immediately.

BEKO RSO45SEU - Defrosting - 1

WARNING: Never use sharp or metal tools, as they may damage the refrigerator.

Unplug the minibar and leave the appliance door open weekly. This will melt the frost on the evaporator surface of the fridge and improve cooling performance.

3.6 Drip container

Check the drip container at regular intervals and drain the accumulated water. If not, the water in the drip container may overflow and leak out.

3.7 Guidance for storing fresh food Storing into the fresh food compartment:

  • Keep your fridge at the recommended temperature level of 4°C.
  • Food to be stored should be properly sealed to avoid odor or taste alterations.
  • Do not store excessive quantities of food inside your refrigerator. Leave spaces between foods to allow cold air to circulate around them, achieving better and more homogeneous cooling.
  • To allow shorter door openings, foods eaten daily should be stored at the front of the shelf.
  • Leave a gap between foods and the inner walls to allow air to flow. If you store foods against the rear wall, they may freeze.
  • Hot, cooked food must be cooled down to room temperature before storing in the appliance.

3 Use

Then, warm food can be stored in the lower shelves of your fridge. Please do not put warm food near highly perishable foods.

  • Thaw your frozen food in the fresh food compartment. This way, you can use the frozen food to cool down the fresh food compartment and save energy.
  • If unripe tropical fruits (mango, melons, papaya, banana, pineapple) are stored in the refrigerator, the ageing process can be accelerated, which is not advisable as it causes shorter storage times. However, the ripening of strongly green fruits (apple, pear) can be promoted for a certain period in the fridge compartment.
  • Onions, garlic, ginger, and other root vegetables should be stored in dark, cool room conditions, not in the fridge.
  • When spoiled food inside the refrigerator is noticed, it should be disposed of. When rotten food is noticed, please clean the inner liner or accessories that were in contact to prevent contamination.
  • Large pots of food, such as soups or stews, can be divided into shallow containers to quickly cool in the refrigerator. Large pieces of cooked meat and whole poultry should be divided into smaller pieces for the same purpose.
  • Do not store unpacked foods near eggs.
  • Keep fruits and vegetables separate and store like with like: apples with apples, carrots with carrots. Fruits and vegetables give off different gases that can cause others to deteriorate.
  • Take leafy greens out of plastic bags, wrap them in a paper towel or tea towel before storing in the refrigerator. Do not forget to dry them if they are rinsed or wet before storing.
  • Store fruits and vegetables susceptible to drying out in perforated or unsealed plastic bags to maintain a moist environment yet still allow air to circulate.
  • Different foods should be placed in different areas according to their properties:
