What is the maximum operating range?
The range is up to 60 meters (200 feet) in open line-of-sight conditions. Walls and obstacles may reduce range.
How long do the batteries last?
Using high-quality alkaline AA batteries, you can expect approximately 8-10 hours of continuous use. Rechargeable batteries may last less.
Can I use multiple U-MIC systems together?
Yes, but each system must use a different frequency channel to avoid interference. The receiver allows frequency selection.
What type of microphone capsules are included?

Does the system include a bodypack transmitter?
The U-MIC-863.2+864.8 typically comes with handheld microphones. For bodypack variants, check the specific model sold.
How do I clean the microphones?
Wipe the microphone body and grille with a soft, dry cloth. For the grille, remove it and wash with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
What should I do if I experience audio dropouts?
Ensure the receiver antennas are fully extended and positioned. Check battery levels and avoid metal obstacles between transmitter and receiver.
Is the system compatible with other wireless microphone brands?
It is not recommended to mix brands as frequencies and protocols may differ. Use only Qtx transmitters with this receiver.
Can I connect the receiver to a mixer or amplifier?
Yes, use the XLR output for balanced connection to professional mixers, or the 1/4' jack for consumer amplifiers.

  5. 3.5mm audio output
  6. USB type A socket

Setting up

The U-MIC is supplied as 2 individual handheld microphone transmitters and a USB receiver with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm jack lead.

The USB type A plug (4) on the receiver should be connected to a USB port for power (5V, 1000mA). This can be from a USB power adaptor or power bank for portable use if required. The connection can also be made to the receiver using an optional USB extension lead if preferred.

Note: the audio is not transmitted to the USB port. The USB is for power only.

If the USB port is a U-Disk player or computer port, the digital media (USB stick) or other peripheral device can still be connected through the receiver by connecting to the USB type A socket (6) on the rear of the receiver.

Operation

The U-MIC receiver is designed to connect to a microphone input jack on a mixer or amplifier. Turn down the volume level on the microphone input of the mixer or amplifier before connecting to avoid loud noises when connecting.

Connect the 3.5mm plug of the supplied lead into the USB receiver (5) and connect the 6.3mm plug to the appropriate microphone input jack on the mixer or amplifier.

Note: The output of both of the handheld transmitters is mixed to the same single 3.5mm output.

Each handheld transmitter has an on/off switch (2), which should be in the down position (off). Unscrew the bottom battery compartment (3) and insert 2 x AA alkaline batteries into each transmitter, ensuring that the polarity is the correct way around.

Move the switch up to the “on” position and the power indicator (1) should light briefly. If this LED is lit constantly, this indicates that the batteries are low on charge and need replacing with new ones.

Gradually turn up the volume level on the mixer or amplifier and speak into the handheld microphones in turn until the sound can be heard through the speakers or recording equipment. Increase the volume to the required level.

When either or both of the microphones is not being used for a short time, it is possible to mute the output by sliding the on/off switch to the central "mute" position. This maintains the radio carrier signal but mutes the sound until the switch is moved back to the "on" position.

If the U-MIC set is not being used for longer periods, turn down the volume level on the connected mixer or amplifier and switch both handheld microphones off.

For long term storage, unplug the jack and USB receiver and remove the batteries form the handheld transmitters.
