How do I set up the Edimax APC500 powerline adapter?

Plug one adapter into a wall socket near your router and connect it via Ethernet cable. Plug the second adapter into a wall socket near your device and connect it. Press the pairing button on both adapters for 2 seconds to establish a secure connection. Wait for the Powerline LED to become solid.

What is the maximum data speed of the APC500?

The Edimax APC500 supports data rates up to 500 Mbps over your home's electrical wiring, compliant with the HomePlug AV standard.

How do I reset the APC500 to factory defaults?

Locate the reset pinhole on the device. Use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds until all LEDs blink. Release the button; the adapter will restart with factory settings.

Can I use more than two APC500 adapters together?

Yes, you can add multiple adapters to create a larger network. Simply pair each additional adapter with one of the existing adapters using the pairing button.

Does the APC500 work with other brands?

The APC500 is compatible with other HomePlug AV certified powerline adapters. However, for best performance, using Edimax adapters is recommended.

Why is my Powerline LED off?

If the Powerline LED is off, check that both adapters are plugged into working wall sockets and not into power strips. Ensure they are on the same electrical circuit. Press the pairing buttons again to re-establish connection.

What security does the APC500 use?

The adapter uses 128-bit AES encryption to secure data transmission over your home's electrical wiring. Pairing creates a unique encrypted connection.

Can I plug the APC500 into a power strip?

It is not recommended because power strips can filter out the powerline signal, reducing performance. Plug directly into a wall socket.

What do the LED indicators mean?

The Power LED indicates power status; Ethernet LED shows network activity; Powerline LED indicates connection quality (solid = good, flashing = pairing, off = no connection).

How do I update the firmware on my APC500?

Visit the Edimax support website and download the latest firmware for the APC500. Use the management utility (available on the Edimax website) to upload the firmware file to the adapter via Ethernet.
