Frequently Asked Questions - 5 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker LY-5000DE Ambiano

How do I set the cooking time on my Ambiano slow cooker?
Press the Timer button, then use the + and - buttons to set the desired cooking time (up to 24 hours). After setting, press Start to begin.
Can I cook frozen meat directly in the slow cooker?
It is not recommended. Always thaw meat in the refrigerator before cooking to ensure even cooking and food safety.
What is the difference between Low and High settings?
The Low setting cooks at approximately 200°F (93°C) and takes longer, while High cooks at about 300°F (149°C) for faster cooking. Both result in tender food.
How do I clean the slow cooker?
Unplug and let it cool. Remove the ceramic pot and glass lid; they are dishwasher safe. Wipe the base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
Why is my food taking longer than the recipe says?
Factors like starting with cold ingredients, opening the lid frequently, or using the Low setting can extend cooking time. Try to minimize lid opening.
Can I leave the slow cooker unattended?
Yes, the Ambiano slow cooker is designed for safe unattended cooking. It has an automatic keep-warm function after the set time.
How can I prevent food from burning?

Helpful hints

- Authenc stoneware is red at high temperatures therefore the ceramic pot may have minor surface blemishes, the glass lid may rock slightly due to these imperfecons. Low heat cooking does not produce steam so there will be lile heat loss. Due to normal wear and tear through the product's life, the outer surface may start appearing to have ne cracks on the surface of the glaze.

- Do not put the ceramic pot or glass lid in an oven, freezer, microwave, or in a toaster oven.

- Do not pre-heat before adding ingredients.

- Do not subject the ceramic pot to sudden changes in temperature. Adding cold water to a very hot ceramic pot could cause it to crack.

- Do not allow the ceramic pot to stand in water for a long me as there is an area on the base of the ceramic pot that has to remain unglazed for manufacturing purposes. This unglazed area is porous, therefore will soak up water. However, you can leave water in the ceramic pot to soak.

- Do not switch the Slow Cooker on when the ceramic pot is empty or out of the base.

- The Slow Cooker must be at least half full for best result.

- The lid is not a sealed t. Don't remove unnecessarily as the built up heat will escape. Each me you remove the lid, allow 10 minutes of extra cooking me.

- If cooking soups or stews, leave a 2-inch space between the top of the ceramic pot and the food surface to allow simmering.

- Many recipes call for all day cooking. Ingredients can be prepared the night before and stored in food containers in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning transfer the ingredients to the ceramic pot, add warm liquid or gravy and set the slow cooker for the desired temperature seng and me.

- Most meat and vegetable recipes require 8-10 hours on LOW or 4-6 hours on HIGH.

- Do not use frozen meat or poultry unless it is thoroughly thawed out rst.

- Some ingredients are not suitable for slow cooking. Pasta, seafood, milk and cream should be added towards the end of the cooking me. Many things can aect how quickly a recipe will cook, such as water and fat content, initial temperature of the food, and the size of the food.

- Pieces of food cut into small pieces will cook quicker. A degree of ‘trial and error’ will be required to fully opmize the potential of your Slow Cooker.

  • Aer food is cooked, switch control knob to OFF and leave covered with the lid. There will be enough heat in the ceramic pot to keep the food warm for approximately 30 minutes. If you require longer me to keep the food warm switch to the WARM seng.
  • All food should be cooked with a liquid, gravy or sauce. In a separate pan prepare your liquid, gravy or sauce and add to the food in the ceramic pot.
  • Pre-brown meat and onions in a pan to seal in the juices. This also reduces the fat content if separated before adding to the ceramic pot. This is not necessary if the me is limited, but it does improve the avor.
  • We recommend that you do not store foods in the ceramic pot in the refrigerator, however, if you do store food in the ceramic pot do not put it into the Slow Cooker base for a minimum of 45 minutes to allow it to warm up slightly. Make sure it is completely dry before placing it in the Slow Cooker base.
  • Never use the ceramic pot on top of the stove. It is meant for use in the Slow Cooker only.

Always be sure that the Slow Cooker is unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning or aempng to store the item. NEVER IMMERSE base in water or any other liquid.

It is important to clean your Slow Cooker thoroughly aer each use to prevent scky build ups that are dicult to clean later.

  1. Use a so cloth moistened with a mild soap soluon to clean the base of the slow cooker, lid, and ceramic pot.
  2. If food is cooked on to the inner lining of the ceramic pot you may soak the inside of the ceramic pot in warm soapy water. Do NOT soak the whole ceramic pot in water.
