How do I pair the earphones with my phone?

Remove the earphones from the charging case. They will enter pairing mode automatically. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and select 'SFR 2.4 B1' from the list.

How do I charge the earphones?

Place the earphones into the charging case. Connect the case to a USB-C charger. The LED indicator shows charging status. Full charge takes about 1.5 hours.

Are the earphones water resistant?

Yes, they have an IPX4 rating, meaning they can withstand sweat and light rain. Do not submerge them.

What is the battery life?

The earphones last up to 5 hours on a single charge. With the charging case, total playback time is up to 20 hours.

How do I reset the earphones?

Place both earphones in the case, keep the case open, then press and hold the touch areas for about 10 seconds until the LED flashes red and white. They will reset.

Can I use the earphones individually?

Yes, you can use either the left or right earbud independently. Simply take one out of the case and connect.

What ear tips are included?

Three sizes of silicone ear tips (S, M, L) are included to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

How do I control music and calls?

Thank you for choosing a SilverCrest product.

These SilverCrest Wireless Headphones SFR 2.4 B1 have been designed for receiving wireless high-quality stereo sound from audio playback devices. The range of the wireless signals is up to 85 m (255 ft) outdoors and 25 m (75 ft) indoors under optimum conditions, depending on the environment. The device also features an FM radio receiver.

Intended Use

This device is a consumer electronics device. The SilverCrest Wireless Headphones have been designed for cable-free transmission of audio signals. Furthermore, the Wireless Headphones feature a radio function. They may only be used for private use, not industrial or commercial purposes. The device may not be used outdoors or in tropical climates. Only external devices that comply with safety standards and are compatible with this device in terms of electromagnetic compatibility and shielding may be used. This device fulfils all relevant norms and standards associated with CE Conformity. Any unauthorised modifications to the device may result in these directives no longer being met, and the manufacturer will not be liable for any damage or injury resulting from unauthorised modification. Only use the accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

Warning: Mains Isolation

The On/Off switch of this device does not fully disconnect the device from the mains. Furthermore, the device consumes electricity in the Standby mode. In order to completely disconnect the device from the mains, the power adapter must be pulled out from the wall outlet. For this reason, the device should be positioned such that unobstructed access to the wall outlet is ensured, so that the power plug can be immediately pulled out in an emergency situation. To avoid the risk of fire if the device is not going to be used for a long while (e.g. during holidays), it should always be disconnected from the power socket.

Do not open the housing of the power adapter - it contains no serviceable parts! Opening the housing exposes you to lethal electric shocks.

Before stormy weather when there is the risk of lightning, disconnect the device from the power supply.

Use only the original power adapter. For more information, please see "Power supply" on page 6.

Risks Associated With High Noise levels

Exercise caution when using headphones. Listening at high volume can damage your hearing.

In accordance with safety regulations the maximum permitted noise level is 100 dB(A). The device fully complies with these legal requirements.

Do not use the headphones at high volume levels, otherwise you will damage your hearing and possibly disturb other people. In dangerous situations, e.g. on the road or when operating machines, do not use the headphones. Although the device is designed to enable you to perceive external noise, never adjust the volume to such a high level that you are not capable of hearing what is happening around you.

Operating Environment

Position the device on a stable, flat surface and do not place any objects on the device. The device is not designed for use in environments with high temperatures or humidity (e.g. bathrooms), and must be kept free of dust. Operating temperature and operating humidity: 5 °C to 40 °C, max. 90% RH

Always make sure that:

• no direct heat sources (e.g. radiators) can affect the device;
• the device is not exposed to direct sunlight or artificial light;
• contact with spray, dripping water and corrosive liquids is avoided and the device is never operated near water, in particular the device may never be immersed in liquids (do not place any objects containing liquids, such as vases or drinks, near the device);
• the device is never placed in the immediate vicinity of magnetic fields (e.g. loudspeakers);
• no fire hazards (e.g. burning candles) are placed on or near the device;
• no foreign bodies are introduced into the device;
• the device is not subjected to extreme temperature changes.

Children

Electrical devices do not belong in the hands of children. Do not allow children to use electrical devices when not under supervision. Children may not always recognize potential hazards. Batteries and small parts represent potential choking hazards. Keep batteries out of the reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical help immediately. Keep the packaging away from children too as there is a risk of suffocation.

Conventional and Rechargeable Batteries

These headphones use a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. The rechargeable battery may only be removed or replaced by an authorized service centre.

Insert the batteries with the correct polarity. Refer to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. Do not try to recharge the batteries and do not throw batteries into the fire. Do not mix battery types (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.). Remove the batteries when the device is not to be used for a long time. Improper use may cause explosions and danger to life.

Respect the environment. Old batteries do not belong in the domestic waste. They must be handed in to a collection point for waste batteries.

RF Interface

Turn the device off when onboard an aircraft, in a hospital, in an operating theatre or in the vicinity of medical electronic equipment. The RF signals may interfere with the functionality of sensitive devices. Place the device at least 20 cm (8 inches) away from pacemakers, as the RF signals may interfere with the functionality of the pacemaker. The transmitted RF signals can cause interference with hearing aids. Do not place the device with the wireless adapter turned on near flammable gases or in a potentially explosive area (e.g. a paint shop), as the transmitted RF signals may cause explosions or fire.

The range of the radio wave signals depends on environmental conditions. When data is transmitted via a wireless connection it may also be received by unauthorized parties. The manufacturer is not liable for any interference caused to RF or TV signals as a result of unauthorized modifications to this device. Furthermore, the manufacturer does not assume any liability for replacing any cables or devices that have not been specifically approved by the manufacturer. The user is solely responsible and liable for troubleshooting any interference caused by unauthorized modification of this device and for replacing appliances.

LED Indicators on the Headphones

The headphones have two LED indicators: the power indicator (8) and the radio and RF signal reception indicator (2). The following table contains a description of their meaning depending on their colour and status:

Transmitter cradle LED Indicators

The transmitter cradle has two LED indicators: the power/charging indicator POWER (18) and the RF send indicator AUDIO (17). The following table contains a description of their meaning depending on their colour and status:

Before Getting Started

Connecting the Transmitter Cradle

To connect to hi-fi equipment, use one of the supplied audio cables (see page 5 - "Package Contents").

1. Connect one end of the audio cable to the audio input socket (14).
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the headphones output socket of your hi-fi equipment. If your hi-fi equipment has a 6.3 mm jack socket, connect the adapter plug (see page 5 - "Package Contents") to the audio cable.

You may also connect the adapter cable (see page 5 - "Package Contents") to the cable to use the Cinch audio outputs of your hi-fi equipment.

1. Plug the small plug at the cable end of the mains adapter into the power socket (15).

2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

1. Turn on the transmitter cradle. See page 16 - "Powering the Transmitter Cradle On".

As soon as you connect the power adapter to the transmitter cradle and the mains, the transmitter cradle power indicator (18) lights up green. This is independent of the position of the On/Off switch (12).

Only use the power adapter indoors.

Charging the Battery of the Wireless Headphones

Please charge the battery before using the product for the first time. A charging cycle takes approx. four hours.

Connect the power adapter to the transmitter cradle and to a wall outlet (see page 14 - "Connecting the Transmitter Cradle").

1. Place the headphones onto the cradle as shown below. The charging contacts (16) of the transmitter cradle must touch the charging contacts of the headphones (1).

The power and charge indicator (18) of the transmitter cradle will light up orange while the battery is charging. When the charging process is completed, the power and charge indicator will light up green.

If you place the headphones onto the transmitter cradle while they are switched on, they will be switched off automatically.

Getting Started

Powering the Headphones On/Off

If the battery level of the headphones is high enough (the power and charge indicator (18) on the transmitter must light green), you may remove the headphones from the transmitter cradle.

You may optionally power the headphones using conventional batteries. For more information, see the information on page 19 - "Battery Operation".

1. Press the On/Off button (9) of the headphones once to switch them on. The power indicator (8) will light up orange.
2. Keep the On/Off button (9) on the headphones pressed for a few seconds to switch them back off. The power indicator (8) then goes out.

Please remember to set the correct position for the Power source DC1/DC2 selection switch (10). When set at DC2 position, the device will power on only if charged batteries have been inserted into the headphones. Please also see page 20 - "Powering the Headphones by Using Batteries".

In wireless mode, if no audio signal is received for 5 minutes, the headphones switch off automatically. You will have to switch the headphones on again next time you use them.

Selecting the Operating Mode

1. Slide the mode selection switch (6) to the "WL" position to use the wireless headphones to listen to an external audio source (e.g. your hi-fi equipment).
2. Slide the mode selection switch (6) to the "FM" position to receive your favourite FM radio programmes.

Powering the Transmitter Cradle On

1. To power the transmitter cradle on, slide the On/Off switch (12) to the "ON" position.

After powering on, the send indicator (17) blinks green. This indicates that the transmitter cradle is attempting to establish a connection with the headphones. See also the description on page 17 - "Synchronising the Headphones and Transmitter Cradle".

Synchronising the transmitter cradle and the headphones can take a while.

If no audio signal is received, the transmitter cradle automatically disconnects the RF link after 10 minutes. Once the audio signal is reactivated, the RF link is restored automatically.

Powering the Transmitter Cradle Off

You may power the transmitter cradle off whenever it is not needed. When powered off, it will not transmit any RF signals but the headphones battery will still be charged.

1. Slide the On/Off switch (12) on the transmitter cradle to the "OFF" position. The send indicator (17) on the transmitter goes out.

You may optionally power the transmitter cradle using conventional batteries. For more information see page 21 - "Powering the Transmitter Cradle Using Batteries".

Synchronising the Headphones and Transmitter Cradle

After powering the headphones and the transmitter cradle on, both devices should synchronise automatically. This process may take a while (sometimes more than 1 minute), but normally you just have to be patient.

Under unfavourable circumstances, however, the audio signal may be subject to interference. This may happen if you are using a baby phone or a wireless keyboard and mouse set nearby. In this case you can synchronise the devices manually to locate an interference-free channel.

1. Power the transmitter cradle on by sliding the On/Off switch (12) on the transmitter cradle to the "ON" position.
2. Power on the connected audio source and start playback. The send indicator (17) on the transmitter cradle should light up green.
3. Slide the mode selection switch (6) of your headphones to the "WL" position.
4. Power the wireless headphones on by pressing the On/Off button (9) once.
5. Press and hold the synchronisation button (3) of the headphones and the synchronisation button (13) of the transmitter cradle for at least 1 second.

The RF reception indicator on the headphones (2) and the send indicator on the transmitter cradle (17) start blinking. As soon as both devices have synchronised, both indicators will light up green.

1. If necessary, repeat step 5 if you are not satisfied with the reception quality or you still have interference from other devices.

Synchronising the transmitter cradle and the headphones can take a while. If there are many wireless devices nearby using the 2.4 GHz RF technology, the transmitter cradle and headphones first have to find a free communications frequency. Any frequencies that are already occupied by other devices will not be used. This is also known as "WLAN Skipping and Hopping".

Adjusting the Volume

Turn the volume controller (4) into the + direction to increase the sound volume, or turn it to the - direction to lower the volume.

If you have connected your headphones to an external audio source, you may also adjust the volume directly on the audio source (e.g. by using the remote control of your hi-fi equipment). However, please remember that many audio devices provide a constant signal level on their Cinch audio outputs, thus not allowing a volume adjustment when using this type of connection.

Receiving Radio Stations

You may change the operating mode of your headphones to FM radio reception at any time.

1. Power the headphones on by pressing the On/Off button (9) once. The power indicator (8) will light up orange.
2. Slide the mode selection switch (6) of your headphones to the "FM" position. The radio reception indicator (2) will not light up if no radio station has been tuned-in. It will light up green as soon as a station has been properly tuned in.
3. Press the SCAN button (5) on the headphones once to search for the next available station.

During radio station scanning the radio reception indicator (2) will blink green.

1. Each press of the SCAN button (5) will find the next available station until the end of the FM band has been reached. After this the scan will automatically continue from the beginning of the FM band.

The FM signal reception depends on environmental conditions. If the desired station cannot be received without noise or interference, try changing your location.

The last tuned-in station will not be saved when changing the operating mode or after powering the headphones off.

To use the built-in FM tuner it is not necessary to power the transmitter cradle on. You may turn it off by pressing the On/Off button (12).

Using the Headphones with a Cable

If your location is close to the audio source and you don't wish to make portable use of your headphones, you may use them with a normal cable connection. In this case you don't need the wireless capabilities of the transmitter cradle.

For cable operation, use one of the supplied audio cables (see page 5 - "Package Contents").

1. Music output via the audio cable is possible while the headphones are powered off. To save battery power, press the On/Off button (9) to power the headphones off.
2. Connect one end of the audio cable to the audio input socket (7) of your headphones. Connect the other end of the cable to the headphones output socket of your hi-fi equipment.

If your hi-fi equipment has a 6.3 mm stereo socket, connect the adapter plug (see page 5 - "Package Contents") to the cable.

You may also connect the adapter cable (see page 5 - "Package Contents") to the cable to use any of the Cinch audio outputs of your hi-fi equipment.

With this type of connection, the headphones work as a passive device. The volume adjustment on the headphones is restricted. You will need to adjust the volume on the audio source.

Switching to radio reception is not possible during cable operation. If you want to listen to radio stations, you must first disconnect the connection cable from the audio input socket (7) of your headphones.

Battery Operation

You may power both the transmitter cradle and the headphones using conventional batteries. Batteries are not included in the package.

Remove the batteries when the device is not to be used for a long time.

Respect the environment. Old batteries do not belong in the domestic waste. They must be handed in to a collection point for waste batteries.

Rechargeable AAA batteries cannot be recharged when inserted into the device.

Powering the Headphones Using Batteries

The headphones battery compartment is located in the left earpiece.

1. Power the headphones off. To do this, keep the On/Off button (9) pressed for a few seconds.
2. Hold the left ear pad with your left hand. Using your other hand, carefully turn the ear pad clockwise and remove it (see the following figure).

The ear cushion is fixed on a plastic frame. You need to remove this frame from the locking mechanism together with the ear cushion. Do not pull on the ear cushion itself.

1. Insert two AAA batteries into the earpiece battery compartment. Make sure you match the correct polarity. Note the + and - icons on the batteries and inside the battery compartments.
2. Slide the function switch (10) to the "DC2" position to switch to battery mode.
3. Place the ear cushion onto the earpiece so that the locking noses of the plastic frame are inserted into the corresponding notches on the earpiece. Then turn the ear pad carefully counter-clockwise until it clicks into place.

To switch between conventional batteries and internal rechargeable battery operation you must select the proper position with the function switch (10).

- Position "DC1" represents internal rechargeable battery operation

- Position "DC2" represents conventional battery operation

Pay attention to the proper setting of the function switch. If no batteries are inserted and you have left the function switch at the "DC2" position, the headphones will not power on.

Powering the Transmitter Cradle Using Batteries

The transmitter cradle battery compartment (19) is located on the bottom.

1. Remove any cable connections and turn the transmitter cradle upside down, holding it in your hand.

2. Open the battery compartment by sliding the lock of the compartment cover into the direction of the compartment. The cover can be opened and then removed.

3. Insert three AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Note the + and - icons on the batteries and inside the battery compartment.

4. Place the battery compartment cover over the battery compartment so that the locking nose of the cover is inserted into the corresponding notch on the transmitter cradle. Then close the battery compartment cover until it locks in place.

If you have inserted batteries into the transmitter cradle and you connect the power adapter to the power socket (15), battery operation will be disabled automatically. This helps you to save battery power whenever the device is connected to the mains via the power adapter.

While the transmitter cradle is on battery power, it will not charge the built-in headphone battery.

Troubleshooting

You can solve most common problems yourself by using the following hints. If the problem persists after checking the suggested solutions, please contact our Service Hotline (see page 24). Do not attempt to repair the product yourself.

The headphones do not power on, there are no indicator lights.

• Recharge the built-in battery or insert conventional batteries.
• Check the position of the function switch (10). For conventional battery operation it must be set to the "DC2" position: for operation from the internal rechargeable battery it must be set to "DC1".

The headphones power on but there is no sound output.

• Check that the transmitter cradle has been powered on and connected properly to your audio source. Start playback on the sound source.
• Check if the transmitter is sending an audio signal. The send indicator (17) should light up green.
• Check if the headphones and transmitter cradle have to be synchronised. See page 17-"Synchronising the Headphones and Transmitter Cradle".
• Check if the audio source is playing an audio signal. You can use a connection cable to connect the headphones directly to the audio source.

Unable to power the transmitter cradle on.

- Did you connect the power adapter or are the inserted batteries sufficiently charged?

Sound is interrupted or noisy.

• The rechargeable battery or the inserted batteries of the headphones are depleted. Recharge the internal battery or replace the batteries with new batteries of the same type.
• You are outside the maximum range of the transmitter. Move closer to the transmitter cradle.

Maintenance / Cleaning

Repairs are required when this device has been damaged in any way, for example when liquid has entered the product, when the product has been exposed to rain or moisture, when the product does not work normally or if the product has been dropped. If smoke, unusual noises or smells are noticed, switch off the device immediately. In these cases the device may no longer be used until it has been inspected by authorized service personnel. Please contact qualified personnel when repair is needed. Never open the housing of the device, or the accessories. Only use a clean, dry cloth for cleaning. Never use any corrosive liquids.

Environmental Considerations and Recycling

If the product is labelled with a crossed-out wheelie bin, it is subject to the European Directive 2002/96/EC. All electrical and electronic devices must be disposed of separately from household waste at designated disposal points. The correct disposal of old devices in this manner will prevent environmental pollution and human health hazards. For further information about proper disposal contact your local authorities, waste disposal office or the shop where you bought the device.

Remember to protect the environment. Used batteries should not be disposed of in household waste. They must be taken to a collection point for old batteries. Please note that only discharged batteries may be deposited in battery recycling bins. Care must be taken to ensure that batteries that are not fully discharged do not short circuit.

Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally compatible manner. Cardboard can be put out for municipal paper collections or brought to public collection points for recycling. Films and plastic used for packaging the device are collected by your local disposal services and disposed of in an environmentally compatible manner.

The built-in rechargeable battery cannot be removed for disposal.

This device complies with the basic and other relevant requirements of R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC and RoHS II Directive 2011/65/EU. The product also fulfils Ecological Design Directive 2009/125/EC with the implementing order 278/2009 and 1275/2008. Warranty and servicing information

Warranty of Targa GmbH

Dear Customer,

This device is sold with three years warranty from the date of purchase. In the event of product defects, you have legal rights towards the seller. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty as described below.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period commences upon the date of purchase. Please keep the original receipt in a safe place as it is required as proof of purchase. If any material or manufacturing faults occur within three years of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace the product free of charge as we deem appropriate.

Warranty period and legal warranty rights

The warranty period is not extended in the event of a warranty claim. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damage or defects discovered upon purchase must be reported immediately when the product has been unpacked. Any repairs required after the warranty period will be subject to charge.

Scope of warranty

The device was carefully manufactured in compliance with stringent quality guidelines and subjected to thorough testing before it left the works. The warranty applies to material and manufacturing faults. This warranty does not cover product components which are subject to normal wear and which can therefore be regarded as wearing parts, or damage to fragile components such as switches, rechargeable batteries or components made of glass. This warranty is void if the product is damaged, incorrectly used or serviced. To ensure correct use of the product, always comply fully with all instructions contained in the user manual. The warnings and recommendations in the user manual regarding correct and incorrect use and handling of the product must always be observed and complied with. The product is solely designed for private use and is not suitable for commercial applications. The warranty is rendered void in the event of incorrect handling and misuse, if it is subjected to force, and also if any person other than our authorised service technicians interfere with the device. No new warranty period commences if the product is repaired or replaced.
