Algemeen

This attractive Princess New Classics Kettle is one of the products in our New Classics range, all of which are finished in sturdy chrome-plated steel. Your jug kettle can boil between 0.5 and 2 litres of water very quickly.

The kettle, with a power rating of 3000 W, is comprised of a jug with a hinged lid, a limescale filter, and an external indication of the water level. The kettle's base is connected to a 220 - 240V mains power supply. The power cord can be stored by wrapping it around the convenient lugs on the base.

Operation and controls

See Figure 1.

The appliance is equipped with the following features:

1 Jug

2 On/Off switch with indicator light

3 Handle

4 Release button

5 Lid

6 Descaling filter (detachable)

7 Spout

8 Water-level indicator

9 Base

10 Power cord and plug

Before use for the first time

1 Take the appliance out of the packaging.

2 Boil a full jug of water

3 Dispose of the boiled water.

Boiling water

1 Detach the jug from the base.

2 See Figure 2. Press the release button to open the lid. Fill the jug with the required amount of water. To avoid damage, fill the jug with a minimum of 0.5 l and a maximum of 2 l water. Make sure that you do not spill any water on the base.

3 Close the jug's lid by pressing it until it clicks into place.

4 Place the jug on the base, and insert the plug in the wall socket. Push the On/Off switch downwards (into position I) such that the indicator lamp illuminates.

5 The jug kettle is now switched on, and the water will now begin to heat. The jug kettle switches off automatically a few seconds after the water has come to the boil. However, this automatic cut-out operates only when the jug's lid is closed securely. If so required, you can stop heating the water by pushing the On/Off switch upwards.

6 The indicator light extinguishes once the jug kettle is switched off.

7 A further quantity of water can be boiled once the appliance has cooled down (after about 5 minutes).

8 The kettle is fitted with a triple safeguard which prevents the kettle from producing too much steam, boiling dry, or overheating. The safeguard will switch off the jug kettle if it is operated without water. Allow the jug kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before using it again.
