How to use the Koenic KSM804 croque-monsieur press?

Plug in the appliance, wait until the indicator light turns off (ready), place the filled sandwiches on the lower plate, close and lock the handle. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

Do I need to preheat the appliance?

Yes, it is recommended to preheat until the green light comes on (or turns off depending on model). This takes about 2-3 minutes.

Can the plates be put in the dishwasher?

Depending on the model, the plates may be removable and dishwasher safe. Check your manual. If not removable, clean with a non-abrasive damp cloth.

How to clean the appliance?

Before first time use

Remove and clean the cooking plates as described in Cleaning and care.

Using the sandwich maker

1. Plug the unit in; the red power indicator turns on. Wait until the green indicator turns on; this takes about 6 minutes.
2. Place 1 or 2 slices of bread on the bottom cooking plate with the greased side down.
3. Put fillings on the bread.
4. Place another 1 or 2 bread slices on top with the greased side up.
5. Close the lid and lock the tab until it clicks into place.
6. The sandwiches are ready when the green light is off.

Caution

• Do not insert too much filling. Never close the lid using force!
• Never remove any residues with sharp objects such as knives or forks.

Cleaning and care

1. Unplug the unit from the mains supply and allow it to cool down.

2. Open the lid and push the release tabs upwards; remove the cooking plate.

3. Remove the bottom cooking plate likewise.
4. Clean cooking plates in warm soapy water. Do not use caustic or abrasive cleaners.
5. Dry all parts and then reassemble them.

Remove the cooking plate.

• You can stop the heating process at any time by unplugging the unit.
• Always unplug after use, otherwise unit continues operation.
