Intended use
This appliance is intended primarily for non-commercial use in closed rooms for chopping food in normal household quantities.
Any use other than previously stated is considered as improper use.

Safety instructions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions on the use of the appliance from such a person.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of ■ children.
Inspect the appliance for visible signs of damage before use. Do not use a damaged device.
Only allow repairs to the appliance to be carried out by an authorised specialist or by the works customer service; this particularly applies to replacing a damaged connecting cable. Unqualified repairs can lead to considerable danger for the user. This will also invalidate the warranty and guarantee.
Repairs to the appliance during the ■ guarantee period may only be carried out by service centres authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise the warranty and guarantee will become invalid in the event of damage or subsequent damage.
Defective parts may only be replaced with original spare parts. Only original spare parts guarantee that the safety requirements are met.

Danger from electric current!
Pull the plug out of the mains socket, if you are not using the appliance, before you mount or remove the -graters,
- if a malfunction occurs during operation, before you clean the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if the mains cable or mains plug is damaged.
Do not open the housing of the appliance. Danger from electric current if live connections are touched and/or the electrical and mechanical configuration is changed.
▶ Never immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids.

WARNING
Do not lift or move the appliance when it is in operation.

Risk of injury from rotating parts!
Always disconnect the mains plug before assembling, disassembling, cleaning or storing the appliance.

Always use the pusher supplied when pushing in.
Never insert your fingers or objects into the feed shaft or the grater.

After switching off, wait until the appliance has completely stopped.
Danger from sharp slicers!
Do not touch the slicers of the graters when you mount or clean the graters. Only grip the graters with the plastic parts.
CAUTION
Only use the accessories supplied.

Use of other parts can lead to personal injury or damage to property.
Do not pull the connecting cable to remove the plug from the mains socket.
When using for prolonged periods of time, allow the appliance to cool down occasionally to avoid overheating.
Do not use the appliance for chopping meat.
CAUTION
Do not use sharp objects or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the surfaces.
Requirements for the place of use
For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the place of operation must satisfy the following requirements:
■ Place the appliance on a dry, flat, waterproof and heat-resistant surface.
■ Do not install the appliance in a hot, wet or very humid environment.
■ The surface finishes on furniture may contain substances that can be detrimental to the silicon feet of the appliance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance.
■ The mains socket must be easily accessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency.
Electrical connection
For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions on the electrical connection must be observed:
Before connecting the appliance, compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. The data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer.
The mains socket must be protected by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker.
Ensure that the mains cable is undamaged and is not laid over hot surfaces or sharp edges.
The connecting cable must not be ■ strained or bent.
Always unwind the mains cable completely before connecting the appliance to the mains socket.
The electrical safety of the appliance is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor.
Startup
Unpacking
Remove the appliance, all accessory parts and the user manual from the box.

Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the first time.

NOTE
Do not remove the rating plate or any warning signs on the appliance.
If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty and guarantee period in order to be able to pack the appliance properly in the event of a guarantee claim. Transport damage will invalidate the warranty and guarantee.
Checking the delivery contents
Check for visible signs of damage or missing items.
Report incomplete or damaged contents to your supplier immediately.
Prior to first use
Clean the appliance and the accessories as described in the Cleaning and care section.

Operating
Insert/remove attachment (see image A)
Insert the attachment into the fixture (2) so that the feed shaft (6) is situated above the symbol on the drive unit.
Turn the attachment anticlockwise until the feed shaft (6) is situated above the symbol on the drive unit. The feed shaft snaps in audibly.
To remove, turn the attachment anticlockwise until the feed shaft (6) is situated above the symbol on the drive unit.
Inserting/removing the grater (see images B and C)
Push the desired grater into the mounting until it stops (7).
Turn the grater anticlockwise until it stops. The grater does not snap in but is pulled inwards and fixed into place during operation.
To remove, simply turn the grater anti-clockwise.

WARNING
The slicers are very sharp!
Only grip the grater at the plastic ▶ parts.
Inserting/removing the splash guard (see image D)
Insert the splash guard (14) with the locking elements into the notches of the appliance.
Lock the splash guard by turning it an- ticlockwise.
Using the appliance
Insert the attachment first, then the desired grater followed by the splash guard.
Insert the plug into the mains socket.
◆Press the ON/OFF button to start the appliance and fix the grater.
Switch off the appliance.
◆ Put a suitable container under the spout.
◆ Cut the ingredients into pieces to fit into the feed shaft.
◆Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the appliance.
Remove the pusher.
◆ Put the ingredients into the feed shaft
◆ Insert the pusher into the feed shaft and press it downwards lightly. This pushes the ingredients into the grater.
NOTE
The straight surfaces of the pusher ▶ point forwards, the rounded point backwards.
After using
◆ Press the ON/OFF button to switch off the appliance and wait until the motor stops moving.
◆ Pull the plug out of the mains socket.

Cleaning and care
Before beginning work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the section on safety!
Cleaning the appliance
Clean the appliance after each use.
Pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Remove the grater as described in the section Inserting/removing the grater.

WARNING
The slicers are very sharp!
Only grip the grater at the plastic parts.
Remove the attachment as described in the section Inserting/removing the attachment.
Clean the drive unit (1) with a damp ◆ cloth.
Clean the other parts in hot water and a little washing up liquid.
NOTE
With the exception of the drive ▶ unit, all parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
Storage
If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, clean it as described in the Cleaning and care section.
To save space, the grating inserts can be stored in the grating insert holder (13).
NOTE
▶ Only 4 grating inserts fit into the grating insert holder (13), the fifth grating insert can be stored in the fixture (2).
Insert 4 grating inserts into the grating insert holder (13).
Close the grating insert holder with the pusher until it snaps in (see image E1).
Insert the pusher into the feed shaft ◆ (see image E2).
Attach the splash guard.
Store the appliance and all accessory parts at a dry, clean and frost-free location, which is protected against direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting
The following table will help you locate and eliminate minor faults:
