Before use
Wash the lid, measuring cup and egg holder in hot soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the hotplate with a damp cloth or sponge.
Use
The amount of water to be added depends on how well you want the eggs cooked. The accompanying measuring cup therefore has 3 scales: soft, medium and hard, as follows:
Soft = Soft boiled (40 ml water)
Medium = Medium (55 ml water)
Hard = hard boiled (90 ml water)
The markings on the measuring cup relate to medium-sized eggs (size M). However, results can vary depending on the actual size of the egg and how many eggs are boiled at once. Factors such as the freshness of the eggs and temperature also play a role. Best results can be achieved through trial and error.
Boiling
- Place the egg boiler on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Prick the underside of the egg (the roundest part) with the pin located on the bottom of the measuring cup (remove the protective cover from the pin first). This prevents the eggs from cracking during the cooking process.
NOTE! The pin is sharp.
- Fill the measuring cup with water based on how well cooked you want them (soft, medium or hard). Pour the water onto the hotplate.
- Place the egg holder on the hotplate and put the desired number of eggs into the holes (1-6). The eggs must be placed with the pricked side facing upwards. Put the lid on.
- Ensure the timer knob is in the OFF position and then plug the appliance in.
- Set the required degree of cooking (soft boiled, medium or hard boiled) using the timer knob. The indicator light will come on and the cooking process will start. The timer function is continuous, so if you want to adjust the degree of hardness while cooking, simply turn the timer knob to the required level. Use trial and error to work out when the eggs have the required consistency. NOTE! The corresponding amount of water (soft, medium, hard) must always be poured onto the hotplate before starting.
- Once the eggs are ready, the appliance will switch off and 4 beeps will sound to indicate that the eggs are cooked. Turn the timer knob to OFF and unplug the appliance.
- Carefully lift off the lid (be mindful of hot steam). Lift the egg holder out and place it under cold running water to stop the cooking process.
If the eggs are left in the egg boiler, they will continue to cook due to the residual heat.
Do not move the egg boiler when it is in use, as all the parts get very hot.
Please note that the egg boiler and the eggs will be very hot.
Cleaning
• Unplug the egg boiler and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
• The egg holder, lid and measuring cup are dishwasher-safe.
- Allow the hotplate to cool before cleaning it with a damp cloth.
• Dry with paper or a dry cloth.
- The exterior of the egg boiler can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents which may damage the housing.
- Be careful when handling the measuring cup as the pin on the underside is very sharp!
Descaling
Any limescale that forms on the egg boiler's hotplate may be removed using a mixture of vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water). Pour the mixture onto the hotplate. Allow it to boil for a few minutes and then turn the timer knob to OFF. Rinse well afterwards and clean as usual. Repeat if necessary.
NEVER IMMERSE THE EGG BOILER'S BASE UNIT IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.
Disposal of the device

Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.
