4. Make sure that the lead cable does not hang over the edge of the worktop or table, since this can cause accidents, for example if small children pull on the cable.

5. Route the lead cable so that it is prevented from being pulled or tripped over.

6. Never wrap the lead cable around the appliance, but around the cable storage on the bottom of the base.

7. Always disconnect the lead cable from the wall socket pulling on the plug, never on the cable.

8. Never carry the base by the lead cable.

9. Use the appliance only indoors.

10. Do not use the appliance near combustible materials such as curtains etc.

11. Do not use the appliance in the oven or the microwave.

12. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is always completely closed, to prevent injuries from hot splashing water.

13. Make sure that all users, especially children, are aware of the danger of injury from escaping steam or hot splashing water. Risk of burns!

14. The surface of the cover may become hot during operation. Therefore always use the handles of the cover.

15. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in operation, to prevent scalding from splashing water.
16. Do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.
17. Disconnect the appliance from the wall socket after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the wall socket.
18. Let the appliance cool off before cleaning it.

19. Never open the casing of the appliance. There is danger of electric shock.

20. Check the appliance, the wall socket and the lead cable regularly for wear or damage. In case the lead cable or other parts appear damaged, please send the appliance or the base to our after sales service for inspection and repair (for address, see warranty terms). Unauthorised repairs can constitute serious risks for the user and void the warranty.

21. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care" on page 11.

OPERATION

1. Fill the cup with cold water subject to the desired hardness and the number of eggs:

■ hard
■ medium
■ soft

please use the respective marks at the cup. Pour the water into the water tray. The marks apply to medium egg sizes. Depending on the size, number and freshness of the eggs, the results may slightly differ.

1. Pierce the blunt end of the eggs with an egg piercer. This is important to avoid that the eggs burst during cooking.

ATTENTION.

Risk of injuries by the egg piercer!

1. Place the eggs on the egg holder. Place the egg holder with the eggs on the water tray and close the lid.
2. Put the plug into the receptacle and switch on by pushing the ON/OFF switch. The control light is turning on.

3. When eggs are ready, the buzzer sounds.

4. Connect the base to the mains supply by means of the lead cable (230 V\~, 50 Hz).

5. Check if the appliance is placed firmly.

6. If you want to serve the eggs immediately, switch off the appliance. If you want to keep the eggs warm, leave the appliance in ON-position until you finally take out the eggs.

7. If the appliance is switched off, the control lamp turns out. Remove the lid.

Attention:

Take care of escaping hot steam! Since the lid is very hot, use the handle to lift off the lid or use oven cloths and place it only on heat-resisting surfaces!

1. Remove the egg holder with the eggs from the water tray and hold them under cold water. If the boiling process is not stopped immediately after the buzzer signal is heard, eggs will continue to boil and become harder. You may now serve the eggs.
2. After a short cool-down time of approx. 5 minutes you may use the egg boiler again.
3. Unplug the appliance after use.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Never immerse the appliance into water or other liquids.
2. Unplug the appliance before cleaning it. Let the appliance cool down and pour away any excess water in the water tray.

3. Do not use any sharp or scouring agents. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. Use mild cleansers, but never apply such cleanser directly on the housing, but on the cloth.

4. Lid and egg holder can be washed and dried with a soft cloth.

5. Deposits in the water tray can be removed by means of a solution of water and vinegar or by means of descaler.

Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties.

Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
