Frequently Asked Questions - TM-A101G JVC

How do I connect a composite video source to the TM-A101G?
Use a BNC cable (or RCA-to-BNC adapter) to connect the video output to the Composite Input (labeled VIDEO IN). Select the corresponding input via the front panel or menu.
Can I connect a DVD player or game console via S-Video?
Yes, connect the S-Video cable from your device to the S-Video (Y/C) input on the rear. The monitor will automatically detect the signal.
What does the 'Blue Only' mode do?
Blue Only turns off the red and green electron guns, displaying only the blue channel. It is useful for adjusting tint and color balance using color bars.
How do I clean the CRT screen?
Turn off the monitor and unplug it. Wipe the screen gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with distilled water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
Why is there no picture but the power LED is on?
Check that the video source is turned on and connected properly. Ensure the correct input is selected. Try adjusting Brightness and Contrast controls. If still blank, test with another source.
What is the difference between Underscan and Overscan?
Overscan enlarges the image slightly beyond the visible area (standard for TV). Underscan shrinks the image to show the full frame, including edges, useful for production.
Can I mount this monitor on a wall?
The TM-A101G is designed for desktop use. For wall or rack mounting, use the optional JVC Rack Mount Kit (model number may vary).
How do I adjust the speaker volume?
Turn the Volume knob on the front panel clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease. The speaker is mono and located on the front.
What power cord does the TM-A101G use?
It uses a standard IEC C13 power cord (often called a 'kettle plug') rated for 10A. The monitor works with 120V AC 60Hz.
Is there a remote control available?
The TM-A101G does not include a remote control. All functions are accessed via the front panel buttons and knobs.

I BASIC CONNECTION EXAMPLE

Notes:

* Before connecting your system, make sure that all units are turned off. The illustration below shows some examples of different connections. Terminal connections may differ depending on the component connected. Be sure to refer to the instructions provided with the unit you are connecting. Each pair of input (IN) and output (OUT) terminals are bridge connected. If you are not connecting any equipment to a bridged output (OUT) terminal, be sure not to connect any other cables to the bridged output (OUT) terminal on this unit, and set the termination condition switch to open to an incremental level. When making a bridge connection, connect the input (IN) and output (OUT) terminals on the monitor to separate video components. For example, if both terminals are connected to the same VCR, resonance may occur except during playback. This is caused by the same video signal "tipping" between the VCRs, and is not a malfunction. Select the input as INPUT A (VIDEO) or INPUT B (VIDEO). The ASPECT RATIO or INPUT A/B settings can be controlled via the REMOTE terminal by setting ASPECT REMOTE or INPUT REMOTE in the SET-UP MENUS screen to valid. (Refer to pages 5 and 10.)

The following are not malfunctions:

- When a bright still image (such as a white cloth) is displayed for a long period, it may appear to be colored. This is due to the structure of the cathode ray tube and will be deleted when another image is displayed.

- You experience a mild electric shock when you touch the picture tube. This phenomenon is due to a normal buildup of static electricity on the CRT and is not harmful.

- The monitor omits a strange sound when the room temperature changes suddenly. This is only a problem if an abnormality appears on the screen as well.

- If two or more monitors are operated next to each other, their images may shake or be distorted. This phenomenon is due to mutual interference. It is not a malfunction. Move the monitors away from each other until the interference disappears or turn the power off on any monitor that is not being used.
