Frequently Asked Questions - PA411KIT TP-LINK

How to install the TP-Link PA411KIT Powerline adapter?
To install, plug one adapter near your router and connect it via Ethernet cable. Plug the second adapter in the desired room. Press the Pair button on each adapter to pair them. The PLC LEDs should light up solid.
What to do if the Power LED does not turn on?
Check that the adapter is properly plugged into a working power outlet. If the LED remains off, the adapter may be defective. Contact technical support.
How to secure my Powerline network?
Use the Pair button to create a secure network with AES 128-bit encryption. To customize the key, use the TP-Link Powerline Utility software on a computer.
Can I use the PA411KIT with other brands of Powerline adapters?
Yes, if they are HomePlug AV compatible. Compatibility is guaranteed for adapters meeting the HomePlug AV standard. Advanced features may not be available.
What is the maximum distance between two Powerline adapters?
The Powerline network can work up to 300 meters on the electrical circuit, but the effective distance depends on wiring quality and interference. For best performance, avoid power strips.
What to do if the speed is low?
Check that the adapters are plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip. Avoid interference from electrical devices. Use the diagnostic software to test signal quality.
How to reset the PA411KIT adapter?
Press and hold the Pair button for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The adapter returns to factory settings and will need to be re-paired.
Does the adapter work with a power strip?
It is recommended to plug the adapter directly into a wall outlet. Power strips can filter the Powerline signal and reduce performance. Use a direct outlet if possible.
How to add a new Powerline adapter to my existing network?
Plug the new adapter near one of the existing adapters. Press the Pair button on an existing adapter for 2 seconds, then press the Pair button on the new one within 2 minutes. The PLC LEDs confirm pairing.
What to do if the PLC LED blinks or is off?
A blinking PLC LED indicates poor link quality. Try moving the adapter to another outlet. If it is off, the adapters are not paired. Repeat the pairing procedure.
