Your 122010 Princess sandwich maker has been designed for making sandwiches. The appliance is equipped with baking plates with a non-stick coating. The appliance is suitable for domestic use only.

Initial use

Warning!

- Make sure that there is sufficient space around the appliance to allow heat to escape and provide sufficient ventilation.

  • Clean the appliance. Refer to the section "Cleaning and maintenance".
  • Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface.
  • Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. The appliance starts heating.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down completely.

Note: If you switch on the appliance for the first time, the appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell for a short period.

This is normal operation.

  • Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface.
    • Turn out the rotatable feet (13).

Top compartment

  • Press the lid release button (9) and raise the lid (7).
    • If necessary, clean the baking plates (5) with a damp cloth.
  • Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil or butter to the baking plates (5).
  • Close the lid (7). Make sure that the lid release button (9) clicks into place.

Bottom compartment

  • Press the lid release button (10) and raise the lid (8).
    • If necessary, clean the baking plates (6) with a damp cloth.
  • Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil or butter to the baking plates (6).
  • Close the lid (8). Make sure that the lid release button (10) clicks into place.

- Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. The power indicator (2) comes on. The appliance starts heating.

• Take one of the following actions:

- Switch on the appliance by setting the I/II switch (1) to the 'I' position. The temperature indicator (3) comes on.

The top compartment starts heating.

- Switch on the appliance by setting the I/II switch (1) to the 'II' position. The temperature indicators (3 & 4) comes on. The top compartment and the bottom compartment start heating.

- Wait for approximately 3 minutes until the baking plates have reached the required temperature. The temperature indicators (3 & 4) go off. The appliance is ready for use.

Top compartment

The appliance is equipped with a two-position lock (11) to prevent thicker sandwiches from deformation.

  • Press the lid release button (9) and raise the lid (7).
  • Place the sandwich on the lower baking plate (5).
  • Carefully press the lid (7) down onto the sandwich.
    • Take one of the following actions:
  • For thicker sandwiches, carefully press the lid (7) down onto the sandwich until the two-position lock (11) clicks in the first (open) position.
  • For thinner sandwiches, carefully press the lid (7) down onto the sandwich until the two-position lock (11) clicks in the second (closed) position.

Bottom compartment

The appliance is equipped with a two-position lock (12) to prevent thicker sandwiches from deformation.

  • Press the lid release button (10) and raise the lid (8).
  • Place the sandwich on the lower baking plate (6).
  • Carefully press the lid (8) down onto the sandwich.
    • Take one of the following actions:

- For thicker sandwiches, carefully press the lid (8) down onto the sandwich until the two-position lock (12) clicks in the first (open) position.

- For thinner sandwiches, carefully press the lid (8) down onto the sandwich until the two-position lock (12) clicks in the second (closed) position.

  • Bake the sandwich until it has a golden brown colour. The required baking time depends on your wishes. Stay close to the appliance in order to check from time to time whether the sandwich is ready and to make sure that the sandwich does not burn.
  • Open the lid when the sandwich is ready.
  • Remove the sandwich from the baking plate with a flat wooden or plastic spatula.
  • Close the lid to retain the heat for further use.
    • After use, remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down.

Cleaning and maintenance

The appliance must be cleaned after each use.
