SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read the following instructions and keep them on hand for later reference.
- This appliance is not intended for This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
- Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3
years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
- Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- The appliance should never come into contact with water or other liquids. In case this ever happens, the appliance must be completely dry before operating it again.
- Do not clean the appliance in a dish-washer.
- Protect the scale from impacts, dust, chemicals and significant variations in temperature.
- The accuracy of the scale may be affected by electromagnetic fields (e.g. mobile phones, induction hob). Therefore, keep sufficient distance to this kind of equipment.

Use the appliance only with the required number of batteries of type AAA. Replace worn out batteries betimes.

Remove the batteries if the appliance is not used during an extended period.
- This appliance is intended for domestic and similar use such as:
■ staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
■ farm houses;
■ by clients in hotels, motels and other accommodation facilities;
■ bed and breakfast accommodations and holiday homes.

For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a metal tray or a wet surface.

Do not operate the appliance near open flames.

Always use the appliance on a level, uncluttered and heat-resistant surface.

Use the scale only indoors.
- Use the appliance only for small amounts of up to 5 kg, including the bowl.
- Do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.
- Check the appliance and the inserted batteries regularly for wear or damage. In case the scale presents damages, please send the appliance to our after sales service for inspection and repair.
- Unauthorised repairs can constitute serious risks for the user and void the warranty.
The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.
START-UP AND USE

Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices.
-
Clean the surface with a thoroughly squeezed out, damp cloth.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
- Open the battery compartment on the bottom side of the appliance.
- Insert two batteries, type AAA, according to the pole marks +/-
- Close the lid of the battery compartment.
- If the batteries are too weak for a proper weighing result, the display shows the message „LO“.
- Remove the worn out batteries, if applicable.
- Batteries may contain the following harmful substances:
■ Pb Lead
Cd Cadmium
■ Hg Mercury
- Worn out batteries may not be thrown away with the domestic waste. They are to be disposed of through your trader for electric and electronic equipment or your departmental collecting point.
WEIGHING
- Place the scale on an even, stable surface. Only thus the measurement will be correct.
- Press the button EIN/AUS/TARA to switch the scale on.
- The button KG/G/lb/oz allows selecting between the imperial (pound/ounce) and the metric system (kilograms/grams). The activated system is indicated on the display.

The weight is indicated in steps of 1 g.

Press the button EIN/AUS/TARA to switch the scale on.

On the display appears „8888“ for a moment, after which „0 g“ is indicated.

You may weigh with or without a bowl.
Weighing without bowl
When weighing without a bowl, the goods are directly placed on the scale. The weight is read out directly.
Weighing with bowl
If you place the bowl on the scale before you switch the appliance on, "0 g" will be displayed when switching it on. The weight of the bowl has already been considered. When removing the bowl, a negative value will be displayed (max. 999 g). In case the bowl weighs more than 999 g, an error message will be displayed. In this case, use a lighter bowl.
If you place the bowl on the scale after switching the appliance on, press
„TARA“. The scale indicates „0 g“. Now fill the bowl with the ingredients to be weighed. The weight will be indicated on the display.
Before adding further ingredients, press the button „TARA“ with each ingredient, in order to set the scale to „0 g“.
The maximum weighing capacity is 5 kg, including the bowl. In case the total weight exceeds 5 kg, an error message will be displayed.
If the scale is not used for more than approx. 4 minutes, the appliance will be turned off automatically.
Alternatively it may be turned off manually, pressing the button EIN/AUS/TARA.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Clean the glass top with a thoroughly squeezed out, damp cloth. If necessary, use some washing-up liquid on the cloth.

Check the batteries regularly to avoid damages due to defective or worn out batteries.

Dispose of worn out batteries according to the Directive 2202/96/EC – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Your local public authority will indicate the corresponding recycling depot.
GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
We grant a 24 months guarantee, and in case of commercial use a 12 months guarantee, starting from the date of purchase for any damage demonstrably due to manufacturing defects and when the appliance has been used according to its intended use. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs only in Germany and Austria. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
WASTE DISPOSAL / ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Our appliances are produced on a high quality level for a long lifetime. Regular maintenance and expert repairs by our after-sales service can extend the useful life of the appliance. If an appliance is defective and repair is not possible we ask you to follow the following instructions for disposal.
Do not dispose this appliance together with your standard household waste. Please bring this product to an approved collection point for recycling of electric and electronic products.
By separate collection and disposal of waste products you help to protect natural resources and ensure, that the product is disposed in an adequate way to protect health and environment.
