Frequently Asked Questions - EDH3498RDE ELECTROLUX

How do I install the tumble dryer?
Place the dryer on a stable, level surface. Ensure proper ventilation around the appliance. Connect the power cord to a grounded outlet. For heat pump models, no external venting is required. Refer to the user manual for detailed installation steps.
How often should I clean the lint filter?
Clean the lint filter after every drying cycle. Remove the filter, rinse it under running water, and dry it thoroughly before replacing. A clogged filter reduces efficiency and may pose a fire hazard.
What does the self-cleaning condenser mean?
The self-cleaning condenser automatically rinses the heat exchanger at the end of each cycle to maintain optimal drying performance. However, periodic manual cleaning is still recommended according to the user manual.
Can I dry wool or delicate fabrics in this dryer?
Yes, the EDH3498RDE includes a special wool programme for machine-washable wool items. Use a low heat setting and follow garment care labels. Do not overdry delicates.
Why is the drying cycle taking longer than expected?
Possible causes include: overloaded drum, clogged lint filter or condenser, high moisture content in clothes, or low room temperature. Check and clean filters, reduce load size, and ensure proper ventilation.
How do I activate the child lock?
Press and hold the 'Child Lock' button (or specific combination) for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light turns on. Repeat to deactivate. Refer to the user manual for exact instructions.
What should I do if the dryer displays an error code?
Common error codes include E10 (water tank full) or E40 (condenser blockage). Empty the water tank, clean the condenser, and restart. If the error persists, contact Electrolux customer service.
How can I reduce energy consumption?
Use the 'Eco' programme for optimal efficiency. Always dry full loads (but not overloaded). Clean filters regularly. Use the highest spin speed in your washing machine to remove excess water before drying.
Is the EDH3498RDE suitable for built-in installation?
Yes, this model is designed for built-in or freestanding installation. Ensure adequate air circulation around the dryer. Minimum clearance requirements are detailed in the user manual.
What spare parts are available for this dryer?
Common spare parts include lint filters, condenser filters, door seals, belts, and heating elements. Genuine Electrolux parts can be ordered from authorized distributors or the official website.
