Read the instruction manual carefully before use, and save it for future use.
Unpack the appliance and place it on a level and dry surface. Remove the water tank by lifting it upwards. Wash the water tank in water and detergent. Dry after.

Start by rinsing the unit before you make your first espresso.
- Fill the water tank by half with cold water.
- Open the capsule door by lifting the handle upwards.
- Put the cleaning capsule (enclosed) into the capsule holder. Note that the cleaning capsule must be in place for the water to run through.
- Close the capsule door and press the handle and make sure that the door is closed.
- Place a container under the coffee nozzle.
- Connect the plug to an outlet.
- Press the switch.
- Press the coffee button and wait for the water to start flowing and let it flow for appr. 1 minute.
- Turn off the out flow by pressing the coffee button. Note that the flow will not stop automatically. To stop it press the coffee button.
- Save the cleaning capsule for future use.
Use
To prepare an espresso, do as follows:
- Fill the water tank with cold water.
- Connect the plug to an outlet.
- Press the switch and place a coffee capsule into the holder. Only Martello coffee capsule may be used. See the different coffee blends on page 4 to be able to choose a blend for your own personal taste.
- Close the capsule door and press the handle. If the green lamp start to flash, the door is not completely closed.
- Place a cup under the coffee nozzle.
- Press the coffee button and let the coffee flow into the cup. Once the quantity desired has been reached, press the coffee button again and the flow will stop. Note that the flow will not stop automatically. To stop, press the coffee button.
- The coffee capsule will automatically be released as soon the door is opened.
- Empty the collection tray and clean the appliance and water tank regularly. Read more under "Cleaning and maintenance".
Cleaning and maintenance
Before cleaning, shut off the appliance and unplug it. Let the appliance cool. Never immerse the appliance or cord in water or other liquids.
Rinse the machine regularly with the cleaning capsule as described earlier.
Pull out the drip tray and grid and clean them in water and detergent. Also wash the • water tank.
Wipe the inside of the capsule door and capsule holder with a damp cloth. Note that the • perforation knives are very sharp.
Dry the cover with a damp cloth.
The loose parts may not be dished in a dish washer.
Descaling
You should descale the machine at least once every 2 months or after ca 500 capsules. Possible damage caused by not descaling the machine is not covered by the warranty.
You may use enclosed bag of descaling agent (never use vinegar) and never shut off the appliance during the descaling process.
- Pour the content of the bag into a container with 1 litre hot water. Stir until the contents has dissolved completely.
- Pour the solution into the water container.
- Press the switch and the red lamp lights.
- Wait until the green lamp lights constantly.
- Open the capsule door and put the cleaning capsule into the holder. Note that the cleaning capsule must be in place for the solution to run through.
- Close the capsule door and press the handle to lock the door.
- Place a container under the coffee nozzle.
- Press the coffee button and let the solution run through for about 30 seconds. Press the coffee button again and the outflow stops. Let the appliance rest for about 20 minutes with the machine turned on. Press the coffee button again and let the rest run out. Note that you might have to empty the container (depending of the size) during the process. Remember to press the coffee button to stop the flow before you remove the container.
- Wash the water tank carefully and fill it with clean cold water.
- Press the coffee button and let all water run through to remove all residues. Note that you might have to empty the container (depending of the size) during the process.
Problem solving
| No indication | Check that the plug has been inserted correctly into the socket, that the switch button has been pressed and that the corresponding red light is on. |
| The machine makes a strange noise. | Check that there is water in the tank. |
| The lights are on but no coffee comes out. | Make sure that the capsule holder door is closed and that the green light is on. If the green light flashes, the door is not closed correctly. Repeat the operation. |
| The lights are on but no coffee comes out. | The capsule inserted may be faulty.WAIT FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE OPENING THE DRAWER, then try again with a new capsule. |
| The coffee nozzle may be blocked. Clean it using the cleaning capsule and make sure that water is released. | |

| A slight hiss can be heard after the coffee has been released. | This is not a fault, but normal settling of the pressure control valve. |
Safety instructions
- Read the instruction manual carefully before use, and save it for future use.
- Plug the appliance to a household outlet of 220-240 50/60 Hz only, and use the appliance only for the intended use.
- Always unplug the appliance from the mains supply when not in use, after use and when assembling and disassembling, and before cleaning and maintenance.
4 Only use Martello coffee capsules. - The appliance must not be immersed into water or other liquids.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of electrical appliances.
- Check that the cord is not hanging over the edge of the table.
- Do not place the appliance on or near hotplates, open fire or the like.
- The appliance should only be used under supervision.
- Note during cleaning! The perforation knives are very sharp.
- Avoid to damage the packings during cleaning.
- Never start the unit without water.
- Never fill the water container with hot or boiling water.
- The appliance may not be stored below 0° C since there is a risk that the appliance get damaged due to frost erosion.
- Repairs of the inner parts of the appliance may only be performed by authorised personnel due to live parts, pressure chamber (20 bar). Otherwise the warranty will not be valid.
- Always examine appliance, cord and plug for damage before use. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or his service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- The electrical installation must comply with the present legislation concerning additional protection in the form of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA). Check with your installer.

If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is it not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.
Disposal of the appliance

Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.
Warranty
Claims according to current law. Cash receipt with purchase date shall be enclosed with any claims. When raising a claim the appliance must be returned to the store of purchase.
