How to descale my Rotel RapidBoil 288 kettle?

To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2) or citric acid. Bring to a boil, let sit for 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

Why is my kettle not heating anymore?

First check that the base is plugged in and the kettle is properly placed. If the problem persists, the dry boil safety device may have been activated: let it cool for 10 minutes and try again.

The lid of my kettle does not close properly. What should I do?

Make sure no residue obstructs the mechanism. If the problem persists, check that the sealing gasket is in place and undamaged. For a replacement, contact customer service.

Can I use my kettle with mineral water or milk?

The appliance is designed for water only. Do not use milk, juice or other liquids, as this could damage the heating element and void the warranty.

How to clean the anti-scale filter?

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instrucon concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

○ Make sure that the mains voltage is the same as the voltage specied on the appliance's rang label.

○ If you need to remove it, unplug the cable from the socket. Never place the appliance in children's reach.

- Do not place the kele on hot surfaces otherwise it may melt.

○ Only use the kele with the corresponding base supplied.

○ Remove the kele from the base to ll it up. Only ll it with water, not milk, coee or similar drinks or liquids.

○ If you overll or if it you use it when the lid is not on properly, the boiling water can spray out.

○ Only use the kele on a stable surface and never immerse it in water.

- The kele has a safety temperature limiter, which switches the kele o automacally if it is used without any water in it. If this should happen, unplug the kele from the mains and let the kele cool down before lling it with water.

Before using the kele for the rst me, ll it with water and let it boil. You should then pour this water away.

Before removing the kele from its base make sure that it has turned itself o automacally. If this does not happen, turn it o by hand.

- Do not use the appliance if the cable, switch or other components are damaged. Only qualified specialists should carry out any repairs on electrical parts.

- We cannot assume any liability for damages caused by any use not provided for in this manual.

- BEFORE STARTING THE APPLIANCE

○ Aer you have lled the kele do not forget to close the lid, otherwise the kele will not turn o automacally aer boiling. The amount of water in the kele must always be between the "Min" and "Max" level.

- Place the kele on the base and turn it on.

As soon as the water has boiled, the kele will turn o automacally. But you can turn the appliance o by hand at any me.

○ CAUTION: The outside of the kele gets very hot. Only use the handle to pick up the kele.

- Once the kele has switched o automacally, the boiled water must be poured out in order to be able to use the kele to boil some more water aer around 15 to 20 seconds. The kele will not switch on during this me.

- DESCALING

The kele should be descaled on a regular basis depending on how hard the water supply is. To do this use standard, environmentally friendly descaling products. First II it with water and then a small dose of the descaling product. Never heat up the soluon, otherwise it will foam over. Aer descaling, rinse the kele out thoroughly with clean water.

- CLEANING AND CARE

○ Pull out the plug before cleaning. Never immerse the kele and its base in water. Rinse the kele out from me to me. Only wipe the outside of the kele with a damp cloth. Do not use any sharp and abrasive cleaning agents.

- DISPOSAL
