How to empty the dust bag of the TriStar SZ-2190 vacuum cleaner?

Unplug the appliance, open the bag compartment, remove the full bag and discard it. Insert a new bag following the assembly marks.

How to clean the HEPA filter?

Remove the HEPA filter, gently tap it to remove dust, or wash it with warm soapy water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.

What to do if the vacuum cleaner does not start?

Check the connection, the power cord, and the bag status (if full, the indicator may prevent startup). Also check the filter.

What type of bag to use for the SZ-2190?

Use compatible TriStar replacement bags, ref. SZ-2190 or equivalent microfiber. Avoid unsuitable bags.

This is thermal protection: the appliance shuts off in case of overheating. Let it cool for 30 minutes, check that the bag is not full and the filter is not clogged.

How to adjust the suction power?

Use the adjustment slider located on the vacuum body or on the handle, depending on the model. Min position for curtains, max for carpet.

Can I vacuum liquids with this vacuum?

No, the TriStar SZ-2190 is designed only for dry vacuuming. Vacuuming liquids would damage the motor.

How to change the crevice tool?

Unplug the vacuum. Press the tube unlock button or remove the attachment by gently pulling. Clip on the desired tool.

Electricity and heat

• Check if the voltage of the appliance corresponds to the main voltage of your home. Rated voltage: 220-240V\~50Hz. The socket must be at least 16 A or 10 A slow-protected.
• This appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.
• Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord can not become entangled.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
• Allow the appliance to cool down before you clean or store it.

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Place the hose with the side of the coupling in the upper side of the vacuum cleaner, if you hear a click, the tube is secured.
  • Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
• Place the other side of the hose into the telescopic tube.
  • To disconnect the hose, press the button on the hose coupling.
• Only use the device if all the filters included the dust compartment are placed properly, a damaged or improperly installed filter or dust compartment may damage the unit.

USE

• Use the on/off button to activate your device.
• Slide the telescopic tube to the desired length.
• Unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. The yellow mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Do not expend the cable beyond the red mark.
• Use the button on the floor brush and choose the desired position, with or without brush at the bottom of the floor brush.
• Control with the power regulation button the desired suction power.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Emptying the dust compartment

• Push the release button for the dust compartment and lift with your other hand the dust compartment out of the base.
• Push the release button for the lid to open the dust compartment, now you can empty the dust compartment.

Cleaning the HEPA filter and the in / out coming air filter.

• Push the release button for the dust compartment and lift with your other hand the dust compartment out of the base.

• Push the release button for the lid to open the dust compartment, now you can empty the dust compartment.

• Turn the HEPA filter holder counter clockwise to remove this out of the dust compartment.

• Turn the incoming air filter counter clockwise to remove this.
• Pull on the backside of the vacuum cleaner the grid out of its position and take the filter out of the grid.
• Rinse the three filters under a warm tap, if it's necessary you can use a brush. Make sure that the filters are completely dry before you refit them back in the vacuum cleaner.

• To turn the unit off, press the on/off button. Unplug the power cord and press the cord rewind button.
• You can place the tube in to the designated clip on the back of the vacuum cleaner.

1. In case the appliance has fallen.

- By executing repairs the original warranty period of 2 years will not be extended, nor the right to a complied new warranty. This warranty is only legal on European soil. This warranty does not overrule the European directive 1944/44CE.

• Damage caused by not following the instruction manual, will lead to a void of warranty, if this results in consequential damages Tristar will not be liable.
• Tristar will not be liable for material damage or personal injury caused by improper use or if the safety instruction are not properly executed.
• Other then cleaning, as mentioned in this manual, is the only maintenance that is necessary for this appliances.
• When the application should be repaired, make sure that this will de preformed by an authorized company.
  • This appliance may not be amended or changed.
• If problems arise during the 2 years from the date of purchase, which are covered by the factory warranty, you can go back to the point of purchase to replace it for a new one.
• For questions or compliances please contact your retailer "point of purchase".
• This appliances is covered with a 24 month guarantee starting on the date of purchase (receipt).
• Only material or manufacturing defects are included in this warranty.
• If you wish to make a claim please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.
• Damage to accessories does not mean automatic free replacement of the whole appliances. In such cases please contact our hotline. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts are always subject to a charge
• Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing, as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!
