Getting started
Before using the vacuum cleaner, first roll out a sufficient length of the electric cord and plug it in. The yellow mark on the cord indicates the maximum length, that must not be exceeded. To switch on the vacuum cleaner press the on/off button (A) with your foot.

natural_image

With the suction power regulator you can choose the suction power as you require it. We recommend to use the minimum suction power for vacuuming delicate materials. The medium power is best for mattresses, furniture and carpets. Select the maximum power for tiles, wood and other robust floors.
Also the floor nozzle has two different settings:
-
For hard floors like tiles and wood, extend the brush bar by pressing the button into setting 1.
-
For carpets, retract the brush bar by pressing the button into setting 2.

Switch off the vacuum cleaner by pressing the on/off button. Pull the plug out of the socket. To rewind the cord, press the rewinding button (B) with one hand while you guide the cord with your other hand to ensure that the plug does not whip causing damage. To store the vacuum cleaner you can slide the floor nozzle with the tube and hose into the special slot at the back of the appliance.

The instructions in this manual serve as a guideline for routine maintenance. Check the hose, dust bag and filter often. Clear a clogged hose, replace the dust bag when it is full and clean the motor filter when dirty.
Disposable dust bags and filters
The dust bag and the motor filter play a very important roll in the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. The purpose of the dust bag is to trap dirt, but at the same time the filter needs to be porous enough to allow air to pass through. If the bag or motor filter get clogged, no air can pass through the cleaner and no cleaning can take place regardless of how powerful the unit is.
To keep the cleaner operating at maximum efficiency, change the dust bag
frequently and clean the filter when needed. Some fine particles can restrict the air flow very quickly and will decrease the performance even before the bag appears to be full. For that reason, the bag and filter may need to be changed more often when vacuuming carpet fresheners or cleaners, powder, plaster dust or similar fine substances.
Replacing the dust bag
Remember: switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before you replace the dust bag or clean the motor filter. Never vacuum without the dust bag or filter.
-
Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
-
Open the dust bag compartment by pushing the latch upwards with your fingers and lifting the lid.
-
Take the dust bag frame and lift the dust bag out of the compartment by taking the dust bag frame out of its slot.
-
Remove the dust bag from the frame and slide in a new dust bag (2l) into the frame.
-
Take out the motor filter and clean it if it is dirty by rinsing it under warm water. Let the filter dry before reinstalling it.
-
Put the dust bag frame back into the dust bag compartment by sliding the frame into its slot at the front of the compartment.

Cleaning the exhaust air filter or HEPA filter
The exhaust air filter or HEPA filter cleans the air a final time before it leaves the vacuum cleaner. You can clean the filter as follows:
-
Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner. Always pull the plug itself, never pull the cord.
-
Open the grill of the filter. The filter is visible when the grill has been removed.
-
Rinse the filter under cold running water and let it dry.
-
Put the filter back into place or replace the filter by a new one.
-
Close the grill to seal.
