How do I turn on the Samsung PL200 camera?

Press and hold the POWER button until the lens extends and the startup screen appears. To turn off, press and hold the Power button again.

How to take a photo with the PL200?

Set the mode dial to Smart Auto or Program. Compose your subject in the frame. Press the shutter button halfway to focus (a green frame indicates focus), then press fully to capture.

What type of memory card does the PL200 use?

It supports SD and SDHC memory cards (up to 8 GB). Optional cards are recommended for extended storage; internal memory is approx. 90 MB.

How to transfer photos to a computer?

Install the software from the supplied CD-ROM. Connect the camera to your PC using the USB cable. Turn on the camera. On your PC, go to My Computer > Removable Disk > DCIM > 100PHOTO and copy files.

How to charge the PL200 battery?

Insert the battery into the camera. Connect the AC adapter/USB cable to the camera and plug into a wall outlet. The status lamp glows red while charging and turns green when fully charged.

Can I record videos with the PL200?

Yes. Set the mode to Movie (press MODE/SMART button). Press the shutter button to start recording, press OK to pause/resume, and press the shutter again to stop. Max resolution is 1280x720 HD.

How to view photos on the camera?

Press the Playback button (▶). Use the navigation buttons (left/right) to scroll through images. Press and hold to fast scroll. Press OK to play a video.

How to delete a photo?

In Playback mode, press the Fn/Delete button (marked with a trash icon). Use the navigation buttons to select Delete and press OK to confirm.

What safety precautions should I follow?

Never use the flash closer than 1 meter to eyes. Do not expose the camera to water or extreme temperatures. Use only Samsung-approved batteries. Keep away from small children.

How to reset the camera settings?

Go to the MENU, navigate to Settings, and select Reset (or Factory Reset). Confirm your choice. Note that this will erase all custom settings but not photos.

Do not use the flash in close proximity (closer than 1m/3 ft) to people or animals. Using the flash too close to your subject's eyes can cause temporary or permanent damage.

Handle and dispose of batteries and chargers with care

Use only Samsung-approved batteries and chargers. • Incompatible batteries and chargers can cause serious injuries or damage to your camera.

Never place batteries or cameras on or in heating devices, such as microwave ovens, stoves, or radiators. Batteries may explode when overheated.

Handle and store your camera carefully and sensibly

Do not allow your camera to get wet—liquids can cause serious damage. Do not handle your camera with wet hands. Water damage to your camera can void your manufacturer's warranty.

Protect batteries, chargers, and memory cards from damage

Avoid exposing batteries or memory cards to very cold or very hot temperatures (below 0^ C/ 32^ F or above 40^ C/ 104^ F). Extreme temperatures can reduce the charging capacity of your batteries and can cause memory cards to malfunction.

Prevent memory cards from making contact with • liquids, dirt, or foreign substances. If dirty, wipe the memory card clean with a soft cloth before inserting in your camera.

Push gently until the card disengages from the camera and then pull it out of the slot.

Before using the camera for the first time, you must charge the battery.

Capturing photos or videos

Taking a photo

1 Press [MODE] to select ( ) (Press [SMART], [MODE] select ( ).)

2 Align your subject in the frame.
3 Press [Shutter] halfway down to focus automatically. A green frame means the subject in focus.

Recording a video

2 Align your subject in the frame.

Transferring files to a PC (Windows)

1 Insert the installation CD in a CD-ROM drive and follow the onscreen instructions.
2 Connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable.

4 On your PC, select My Computer → Removable Disk → DCIM → 100PHOTO.
5 Select the files you want and drag or save them to the PC.
