INTERRUPTEUR DES FEUX CLIGNOTANTS

Fuel is extremely flammable. Always refuel in an open area and away from all fire sources (cigarettes, sparks,

open flames) after switching off the engine.

While refuelling, stop the fuel from coming into cont act with the hoi engine surfaces as it may flare up. If any fuel is spilt while refuelling, carefully wipe the fuel filler before starling the engine. Be sure lo close the tank cap tight after refuelling.

Never fill the tank to the rim as the heat of the sun causes fuel vapors to increase in volume.

Prevent the fuel from coming into contact with the eyes or the skin. In case of contact wash generously with running water. Do not inhale the fuel fumes. Avoid ingesting fuel.

The filler cap is located under the saddle. The fuel tank capacity is 7.5 litres. Only use unleaded petrol with a minimum octane number of 95 RON/85 MON.

The warning light (1) located in the dashboard dial (Fig.1) lights up when the autonomy of operation left is about 40 Km.

The engine is lubricated by a mixture of oil and fuel. Top up when the mixer oil reserve warning light, red colour, located on the dashboard left side (Fig.1), lights up.

The mixer oil level warning light (1) goes on when about 100 ml of oil, sufficient for about 100 km, are left in the reservoir.

When the light goes on, top up with oil as soon as possible to avoid the engine seizing.

BENELLI Pepe - Pepe - 1

Driving the scooter without oil will cause irreparable damage to the engine. If the oil runs out completely

and/or the oil tube is removed, immediately apply to a Benelli Dealer or Authorized Workshop for the necessary drainage operations.

BENELLI Pepe - Pepe - 2

Used oil contains substances that are harmful to the environment. We recommend having the oil renewed by a

The muffler function is to extract the exhaust gas from the cylinder, cool them and emit them to the outside, as well as to reduce the sound pollution (noise) within the limits stated by the Euro regulations. Check the exhaust gas outlet every 3500 Km.

Under normal conditions, the fork of your vehicle requires no maintenance.

However, it is advisable to periodically perform the following simple checks:

  • If, during normal use, the fork sometimes reaches its travel end, have the oil level in the fork rods checked.
  • Place the vehicle on the stand and repeatedly shake the fork backwards and forwards. If the play is excessive, have the steering play adjusted.

In either case contact a Benelli Dealer or Authorized Workshop.

The battery electrolyte contains sulphuric acid, an extremely corrosive and toxic substance. Contact with the skin causes serious burns. When maintaining the battery, always wear protective clothes, rubber gloves, a face guard and goggles. Recharge the battery in a ventilated place to avoid inhaling the fumes during the operation.

If the battery electrolyte comes into contact with the skin, immediately rinse with plenty of running water. If it comes into contact with the eyes, wash generously with running water for 15 minutes and immediately seek medical attention. Should the electrolyte be inadvertently ingested, drink plenty of water or milk and immediately seek medical attention.

The battery gives out explosive gases. Do not keep it near flames, sparks, cigarettes and any other fire or heat sources. Ensure that the battery breather is not obstructed.

Never invert the battery cable connections. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting the cables. First connect the positive cable and then the negative cable. Follow the reverse order when disconnecting the cables.

Do not till the vehicle while maintaining the battery as the corrosive electrolyte may flow out of the battery and damage the plastic parts.

REMOVING THE BATTERY

  • Lift the saddle.
  • Remove the battery cover (1).
  • Disconnect the negative cable first and then the positive cable from the battery.

Before recharging the battery, check the electrolyte level. Top up if necessary.

- Remove all the caps.

  • Connect the battery to a battery charger: optimum recharging is achieved with amperage equal to 1/10 of the battery capacity.
    • After recharging, check the electrolyte tevel again. When the vehicle is to remain inactive for a long period, remove the battery and place it in a cool and dry place. Check the charge at least once a month to prevent the battery from deteriorating.

During recharging, make sure the area is adequately ventilated and avoid

inhaling the fumes from the battery. Reinstall the battery 5-10 minutes after the charger has been switched off. This precaution is necessary because the battery continues to produce gas for a short time.

On reassembling the battery to the

scooter, alway connect the breather pipe of the battery to prevent the sulphuric acid vapors from corroding the rubber and plastic parts and the electrical system.

CHECKING AND REPLACING THE FUSES

The electrical equipment of the vehicle is projected by one fuse (10A) located in the battery compartment. The function of these fuses is to prevent any voltage overloads or short circuits from damaging the electrical equipment.

To gain access to fuse box, open the saddle(fig.1).

If the electrical equipment appears to be dead even if the ignition key has been turned to the ON position, check the condition of the fuse by inspecting the fuse strip, If the fuse has blown, immediately contact a Benelli Dealer or Authorized Workshop to have the electrical equipment checked.

Never use fuses having different characteristics from those fitted on the vehicle. The use of unsuitable fuses may damage the electrical equipment and even cause a short circuit and a fire. Do not attempt to repair damaged fuses.
