Product Overview
About Netcam
SNC-L200 is a network camera that can be monitored from a remote PC through various networks such as ADSL, Cable Modem. With a compact design, it fits perfectly into your interior environment.
SNC-L200 videos can be remotely monitored through a Viewer exclusively from Samsung. The camera Pan/Tilt control is also possible. And the Pre/Post Alarm videos can be saved to the remote PC when motion is detected.

* Depending on the network environment or PC function, decrease in image transfer speed may occur.
* PIR Sensor detects temperature changes caused by the infrared ray that naturally emitted from human or animal. Therefore, a detection error or narrowing down of detection range may occur due to the effect caused by ambient temperature change and use of A/C or heater.
1.2 Content Checklist
Netcam and accessories are safely packed in the box. After purchasing the product, make sure you have all the following contents.

Check carefully and make sure there are no missing or damaged components.
If any component is missing or damaged, contact the retailer where you purchased the product.
* SNC-L200 can affect EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interface),
so it is recommended to coil the CORE-FERRITE for use.
It is recommended to wind the LAN cable three times before use.
(The CORE-FERRITE is contained in SNC-L200 box).

When the button is pressed first time, the lens moved to outside of the operation range, so the screen is displayed in black. Press the button again to cancel the video transfer from the Netcam. Pressing the button yet again will return to initial status and the normal control will become available.

The existing setup values, such as IP, Administrator log on information, and upgrade Information will be changed to the factory default status. Please reset all the information to operate SNC-L200.

Please use authorized DC power adapters only. Using unauthorized devices may damage the product.

2. Connecting

2.1 Connecting

INTERNET HUB Rear LAN Cable PC LAN Cable SNC L200 Rear DC INPUT① Push downward and remove the cover located at the back of Netcam.
② Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the router.
③ Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the back of Netcam.
④ Connect the power adapter and power cable to the power outlet and then connect them to the back of Netcam.
⑤ After the power is connected for 1 minute, make sure Netcam lens automatically moves.
⑥ Close the cover at the back of Netcam.
2.2 Installing
Install directly on the wall or on let it stand on a flat surface as a tabletop type.
You may install it where you want by using separate stands, such as wall mount.
(However, when using supplementary stands such as a wall mount to install, make sure the stand can be secured to the nuts on the back of the SET.
\*Precautions while installing Netcam
- When installing on the wall, make sure the location can withstand more than the SET weight (app. 1 kg).
- There is a falling hazard after the SET is installed on the wall. Make sure nobody comes close to it.
- The SET is intended or indoor use. Install it in a place where it cannot be reached by rain, water, or with less humidity.
- When installing using a fixed type stand and separate structures, make sure to secure them so they do not become loose from the nuts on the back of the SET.

2.2.1. To install on a wall surface (concrete and solid wall)
- Drill two holes (Diameter: 5 mm, Depth: 35 mm) on the installation location using an electric driller. Vertical distance between the two holes should be 35 mm.
* It would be convenient for you to stick the enclosed label template on the installation surface and use it.
- Insert the enclosed two plastic anchors to the holes (one each) and tighten the screws with a driver.

* To install on a regular wooden wall, refer to the figure above and tighten two screws with a driver.
3. Remove the cover from the back of the SET. Plug in LAN-CABLE and POWER CORD. Align the two to the groove of the cover, and then close the cover as shown in the figure below.


- Align two grooves at the back of the SET to the pre-installed screws on the wall and hang the SET. Pull it slightly downward. The installation is complete.

2.2.2. To install as a tabletop type
- Remove the cover from the back of the SET. Plug in LAN-CABLE and POWER CORD. Align the two to the groove of the cover, and then close THE cover as shown in the figure below.


- Suspend the LAN-CABLE and POWER CORD to the groove of "A" portion. Let the SET stand.
2.2.3. To install in other locations
Remove the cover from the back of the SET. Plug in LAN-CABLE and POWER CORD. Align the two to the groove of the cover, and then close the cover. Follow the other installation methods to secure the CABLE.
* When using after securing the SET on a separate stand, make sure the stand can be secured to the nuts on the back of the SET.

3. Netcam Configuration
Netcam Configuration
3.1 Before Starting Netcam Configuration
3.1.1 IP Router Configuration
IP router is needed if you want to use the Internet besides Netcam. You must configure IP router once so that Netcam can operate properly.
Whether you have an existing IP router or purchased a new one, you must configure Port Forwarding so that Netcam can operate properly.
Please refer to IP Router User's Manual.
* IP Address and Port set in the IP router will be needed later when you configure Netcam. Please do not forget them.
* If you remember the Subnet Mask, Gateway in the IP router connection status confirmation page, it would be helpful later when you install Netcam.
^ Port Forwarding
If you want to use Netcam via IP router, you need to allocate a unique port number to Netcam.
Numbers from 1 through 65535 can be used as port numbers. However, do not use the following port numbers.
FTP: 21
Telnet: 23
SMTP: 25
DNS: 53
POP3: 110
HTTPS: 443
ICQ: 4000
IRC: 6661-6667
To prevent the conflict between the port and other programs from happening, it's better to set the port number greater than 10,000.
3.1.2 SNC Installer Installation
You need to install the SNC Installer program from the installation CD shipped with the product.
SNC Installer searches Netcam on the local network, shows the unique MAC Address, and configures Netcam.
- Insert the provided CD to the CD-ROM drive.

- Double click and run "SNC Installer.exe" from the CD-ROM.

Click "Set" button to apply the configuration to Netcam and save according to the "Save Configuration Option." During IP configuration, you cannot connect to Netcam. Please close Internet Explore window, wait for 1 minute, and then connect to it again.
Click "Cancel" button to cancel the configuration values.
- Click "Set" button. The following window appears. Click "Yes."

- The following screen appears for several seconds.

- Click "OK" button when network configuration is complete.

3.3 Connecting to Netcam
3.3.1. Connecting from Internet
- Run Internet Explorer from your PC.
- Enter "http://IP Address (or URL): Port number" in the address field, then press "Enter."

4. Using Smart Viewer
4.1 Connecting to Netcam
- Open the Internet Explorer, and enter "http://IP Address (or URL): Port number" in the address field, then press "Enter" to connect to Netcam.
- Network password screen appears. Enter Username (U) and Password (P), then click "OK" button. The initial Username is "root," and the password is "root."

4.3 Using Smart Viewer
Smart Viewer runs as the picture below when connecting to Netcam through Internet Explorer.
You can save and playback transferred images through the Smart Viewer, and change the settings of Netcam remotely using Web Admin Mode.

It flashes for 5 seconds automatically when there is a movement.

Save Path: Use it to change directory of the file saved during recording. When
clicking Rec, the file recorded will be saved in "C:\Program
Files\Samsung\Netcam_WEB\00-30-6f-ff-f0-50 (unique MAC Address)"
but the directory can be changed using "Save Path" button.

Capture: Use it to save a still video from live videos to a JPEG file.
⑥Display Size Icons


Small: Changes the screen size to 160x120.


Normal: Changes the screen size to 320x240.


Full: Changes the screen size to 640x480.
⑦Playback Icons

Rec: It records the images currently transmitting through the network. If a user moves to the Admin Mode page while recording, the recording stops. Recording may be interrupted if another PC downloads ActiveX Control while recording.
- 1 recording time is about 10 minutes.
- The length of the recorded file is about 10 minutes.

Play: Plays back the recorded file.
When clicking Play, the list of recorded files appears. Select and click the file you want to play back, then the Simple Player screen appears.

Stop: Stops recording and switch to Live screen.
4.3.2 Simple Player Program Guide
Simple Player is a playback screen where the recorded video files can be played back, saved, re-edited, enlarged, compressed, and printed.

5.2.1 Network Configuration
1) Static IP
When Netcam network configuration is Static IP (Public IP, Private IP), you may set the Static IP Address.
If you want to set Static IP, you must set IP Address, NetMask, Gateway, DNS 1, DNS 2, etc. Generally, the network administrator administers these items. You need to contact the network administrator and allocate them accordingly.

5.2.2 PPPoE (ADSL)
Choose it when Netcam network configuration is ADSL. In PPPoE (ADSL), the IP Address allocation process occurs automatically like in DHCP. Therefore, IP Address may change continuously. You may use it in parallel with DDNS, or use Network Status Notification to enter to the Address allocated to the equipment. In addition, since the Authentication process is included, you need to setup User ID, User Password, and Confirm Password. These can be designated or allocated when you subscribe the service from your ISP.

Displays 9 screens with the selected image included.
When all 16 channels are connected, they will be divided into 2 pages each and then displayed. However, the second page will display 7 images.
If one of the 1-9 channel images is selected, the first page will be displayed. If one of the 10-16 channel images is selected, the second page will be displayed. The second page will display images of 7 Channels only.
- 16Ch
16 screens will be displayed.
This is a mode to see entire images because all images of 16 Channels will be displayed.
- Full
This is a mode that displays only menu icon or images without the Viewer frame regardless the actual image size. This mode is used to view images only.
If you want to exit from this mode, you may do so by pressing the "Esc" key on the keyboard of your PC, and return to the menu icon or the original 1, 4, 9, 16 screens with the Viewer frame.
- Sequence
Images connected to the Viewer will be switching consecutively and displayed.
- 1 Screen: Registered images switch consecutively 1 Channel at a time.
- 4 Screen: 4 images are allocated to 1 page, and then switch to 4 pages consecutively.
- 9 Screen: 9 images become 1 page, and the remaining 7 images becomes 2 pages, and then switch consecutively.
- 16 Screen: No consecutive switching occurs.
If "Viewer Setup → Sequence time → Single" is clicked, the registered images switch consecutively 1 channel at a time.
If you want to stop the consecutive switching, you may do so by pressing the 1, 4, 9, 16 Screen Display icons.

D= Disconnect
It closes the image channel that has screen selection cursor. Steps are as follows:
1) Select the image you want to close among the images being displayed.
2) Press "Disconnect" icon. The following message appears.

3) Click "Yes" to close the image of the channel that has screen selection cursor. Then
the images behind the blank window will be pushed upward one frame at a time.
4) In addition to the channel selected, the channel images that cannot communicate with
Netcam will also be closed.
5) Click "No" to cancel closing the image of the channel that has screen selection cursor.

Subtitle
Show/Hide
It turns the window in which the image information such as time or server name that is displayed on the screen window as text On/Off.
1) If you press the "Subtitle Show/Hide" icon, Netcam information will be displayed at the bottom of each screen as below.
2) If you want to hide the subtitle display, click the "Subtitle Show/Hide" icon one more time.

Record
1) Select the image you want to record among the images being displayed from the screen window.
2) Pressing the "REC" icon will start recording while "REF-F" is displayed on the OSD window.
3) Likewise, to record another image, select that image and then press "REC" icon. The recording will start.
- When using the default folder as the recording folder, the path is as follows:
{install drive}:\Program Files\Network Camera MultiViewer\Video Files
- Recording time continues by creating a 10-minute file per IP after recording is started.
- Recording stops when the hard disk capacity is below 5 GB.
4) To stop recording, select the channel you want to stop recording, and press "REC" icon one more time.
“ Recording stops automatically when the hard disk capacity is below 5 GB. Check the hard disk capacity before recording if you want to record continuously.
When Alarm occurs, that window will flash while recording is not happening.

Capture
Use it to save a still video from live videos to a JPEG file.
To capture:
1) Select the video you want to capture from the screen window where videos are
displayed.
2) Click "Capture" icon. The path and numbers of pictures saved will be the folder and frame number settings for Image Capture in the Viewer Setup.


Motion
Sets up the motion detection mode of the Netcam selected.
Refer to 6.7 Motion.


Flash
Enables the Flash On/Off function in the currently selected channel.
When Flash On is selected, it flashes for 5 seconds then is off for 30 seconds.
During this Flash Off mode Flash On is disabled.


PIR
Enables the PIR Sensor On/Off function in the currently selected channel.
It flashes for 5 seconds automatically when there is a movement on the PIR
sensor of the relevant camera, and recording takes place for 5 seconds with
'REC-A' showing in red.
6.5 Setup

Connects the Netcam installed in the LAN or WAN network to the MultiViewer.
Click Setup

1) Click on the Netcam to be deleted from the list using your mouse.

1) Click on the Netcam to be modified from the list using your mouse.

2. Image Capturing
- Frame Rate: It designates numbers of videos that are saved when you run the Capture function once. You may set to 1\~3.
3. Sequence Time
- Use this to set the time a video switches. You may set to 5–30 seconds.
- If Single is checked, it switches to one server in sequence when you run the Sequence function.
4. Logo Image File
- It designates the folder path where the Logo file of File Folder Viewer is located.

6.7 Motion
It is a function to Alarm Recording when a motion is detected on Netcam videos.

- Sensitivity
Use it to set the sensitivity of the Motion. Set the sensitivity in numbers. Enter numbers between 1\~10. (10: Most sensitive)
- Motion Area
The area marked with thick green on the screen is where Motion Detection occurs. It is divided into 16, and you may click the area you want to set repeatedly to run the Setup/Remove function.
- Area that does no Motion
It is an area that does not Motion Detection.
- Pretest
Sets the sensitivity temporarily.
- OK
Closes the Motion Detection function after applying the settings.
- Cancel
Closes the Motion Detection function without applying the settings.
To set the Motion Detection function:
1) Select the video you want to set and change for Motion Detection from the screen window where videos are displayed.
2) Click

"Motion" icon. The following window appears.

The procedure for Motion Detection function is as follows:
1) A motion occurs in the video where the Motion Detection function setup is complete.
2) Window cursor flashes in red.
3) "REC-A" is displayed in red at the right bottom of the screen, and the recording
starts.
- Record is recorded in the same folder (Alarm) as the Pre/Post Alarm Record.
4) The motion detected is recorded in a Log file. The following information is recorded in the Log file.
- Time, Day, Month, Year of the motion detected
- Target name
- Netcam's MAC Address on which the motion is detected
- Netcam's IP on which the motion is detected
- File name of the Pre/Post Alarm Recording. (If you click the file, the video will be played back immediately and you can verify it.)

6.8 Player (Playback)

Use it to Playback, Search, Capture, or Print the recorded videos.
You may verify Netcam status, such as Disconnect, Reconnect, Alarm, Motion, etc.

6.8.1. File Open
Opens the video that will be played back. It opens and plays back the recorded files in the preset file path. It can also open several files (maximum 100 files) to play them back in sequence.
6.8.2. Screen Size Switch
Adjusts the video that is being played back to various sizes. However, the resolution of originally recorded video will not increase.
For example, a file recorded with 160X120, 320X480 resolution will not change to 640X480 when it is changed to 640X480. Only the size will change.
- 160*120 Plays back the recorded video in 160x120 regardless of the original video size.
- 320^240 Plays back the recorded video in 320x240 regardless of the original video size.
- 640*480 Plays back the recorded video in 640x480 regardless of the original video size.
- Window Full
Plays back the recorded video in full size of the Player window regardless of the original video size.
Full Screen Plays back the recorded video in the full screen without the Viewer frame regardless of the original video size.
6.8.3. Various Playback and Search

Records the Netcam status (Disconnect, Recommend, Alarm and Motion). Alarm and Motion will be accompanied with the recordings, double clicking the recorded video file name will activate the player and you can check the video.

To run the Log file:
1) Click "Log File" icon. The following window appears.

5) To return to Log File Search Mode after the video search is complete, click "Log File" icon again. Then you will return to the window shown in item 3).
6) Click "Close" button to exit.
