What is the maximum distance the EXT-USB250M can extend HDMI over Cat6?

The maximum distance depends on resolution: up to 197 ft (60 m) for 4K@60Hz and up to 230 ft (70 m) for 4K30 or 1080P using Cat6/6a/7 cable.

Does this extender support 4K at 60Hz with HDR?

Yes, it supports 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 with 18Gbps bandwidth and HDR pass-through.

Can I use only one power supply for both units?

Yes, the extender supports PoC (Power over Cable). You only need to power either the transmitter or the receiver with the included 12V/1A adapter; the other unit will receive power through the Cat cable.

How do I use the IR pass-through feature?

Connect the IR blaster to the transmitter's IR OUT port and the IR receiver to the receiver's IR IN port. The IR signal from the remote at the display side will be sent to the source device (e.g., DVD player) via the extender.

What type of cable is required?

Use Cat5e or Cat6 (recommended) cable with RJ45 connectors. For best performance, use Cat6/6a/7 for longer distances. HDMI cables should be Premium High-Speed HDMI cables.

Can I connect a local display to the transmitter?

1. Introduction

The KanexPro EXT-50M18G extender is a set of transmitter and receiver which sends full UHD 4K/60 HDMI signals over CAT6 cable up to 164ft. (50m). The transmitter module features a local HDMI output for preview monitor or local display support enabling you to see what you are extending over CATx cable. Beneficial for large lecture halls, house of worship centers and conference rooms. For control, the extender set can send/ receive IR signals from each other over CAT5e/6 cable with IR pass-through.

The extender includes two units: transmitter unit and receiver unit. The transmitter unit is responsible for capturing HDMI input signal and carries the signal

via one cost effective Cat6 cable and emitting IR control signals. The receiver unit is responsible for receiving the HDMI signal and transmitting IR control signal.

The extender offers the most convenient solution for HDMI extension over a single Cat5e/6 with long distance capability, and is the perfect solution for any application.

5. Operation Controls and Functions 5.1 Transmitter Panel
