Plug into a wall outlet that supplies power to audio equipment, or plug into a power extension block that supplies power to audio equipment.

2. Polarity/Earth detection

The following table depicts the different readings and the respective LED colour combinations. Where needed, make the necessary system adjustments.

SUPANOVA | THE AFFORDABLE HIGH-PERFORMANCE MAINS CABLE

iFi has made a number of 'clean power' products in its nine-year history to date, but one thing it hasn't made is a specialist IEC power cable for home audio components – until now!

The SupaNova is a specialised power cable with a high-end construction that belies its affordable price point. It delivers a serious upgrade over standard mains leads that imbues sound with greater clarity, space and definition.

THE CABLE

• Five conductors, each made from heavy-gauge, continuous-cast OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity) copper, arranged in a geometrically balanced configuration – highly unusual at such a price point.
• Two pairs of live and neutral conductors are arranged either side of the earth conductor, which is positioned at the centre of the cable.
• A further pair of air-dielectric delineators – polymer matrix tubes filled with air – are arranged either side of the earth conductor, keeping the two pairs of live and neutral conductors apart whilst improving the cable's overall dielectric performance and constructive solidity.

GROUND ZERO

The Nova incorporates five conductors arranged in a geometrically balanced configuration.

The two pairs of live and neutral conductors are arranged either side of the earth conductor, which is positioned at the centre of the cable. The ground conductor is arranged in a shotgun configuration and not twisted around like other mains cable.

As the live and neutral conductors are arranged in a truly balanced configuration, their magnetic fields cancel out each other perfectly. As a result, there is no residual magnetic field being applied to the centre ground conductor, and no unwanted induced voltage on the Ground conductor - iFi calls this design Ground Zero.

The cable is finished with a tough yet flexible polymer outer sheath and iFi's bespoke audiophile-grade connectors, complete with 24ct gold plated oxygen-free copper conductors.

CABLE BREAKDOWN

The net result of this sophisticated mix of materials and construction is a power cable offering constant impedance and superior rejection of EMI/RFI, maintaining the purity of mains electricity feeding each component in an audio or AV system.

While the effect of this cable on sound quality is significant when used on its own, it combines brilliantly with iFi's PowerStation mains conditioning power strip – the PowerStation filters out common mode and differential mode noise from the mains supply, while the SupaNova maintains optimum purity right through to the connected component.

iFi guarantees that this iFi product shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year for parts and labour.

The warranty period begins at the date of retail sale by an authorized iFi distributor/dealer and is subject to the following requirements and understandings:

• It is the responsibility of the buyer within 30 days from the original sale, to register and activate the product warranty with the iFi website.
• The original invoice must be produced for authentication prior to any warranty claim.
• The iFi product must not have been modified in any manner whatsoever, or the warranty will immediately become void.
• The iFi warranty is only valid in the country of original sale and is not transferable.
  • The product must not have been stored in a humid environment; nor subjected to weather, water, or saltwater spray.
• iFi shall not, under any circumstances, be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from the loss of property or other damage or losses due to the failure of an iFi product. iFi is not liable for loss of use or inconvenience caused by the failure of an iFi product. iFi is not liable for damage caused to other audio components because of the failure of an iFi product.
• During the warranty period, iFi will repair the product to working order, or, at iFi's discretion, replace the defective module with a similar available product.
• All repairs performed after expiry of the warranty period will be charged to the owner and will carry a 180-day warranty on parts and labour. The customer is responsible for shipping the unit to the iFi distributor in the original packaging. This includes the payment of any shipping charges and related taxes.
• Should any warranty issues arise, iFi's decision is full and final.
