Frequently Asked Questions - SMPS2050 SYLVANIA

How do I transfer music to the Sylvania SMPS2050?
You can transfer music in two ways: USB Disk mode or MTP (Media Device) mode. For USB Disk mode, connect the player to your PC, set Online Device to USB Disk in the SYS menu, and drag-and-drop audio files into the removable disk. For MTP mode, set Online Device to Media Device, use Windows Media Player to synchronize songs. See the manual for steps.
What file formats does the SMPS2050 support?
The player supports MP3 (32-320 kbps) and WMA (32-192 kbps) audio files. For voice recording, it uses .ACT and .WAV formats.
How do I change the language on the player?
Go to the main menu, select SYS (System), then choose Language. Use the MODE button left/right to scroll through 12 available languages (English, French, German, etc.) and press MODE to confirm.
My player says 'Empty Disk' even though I transferred files. What should I do?
This may be due to a low battery. Try replacing the AAA battery with a new one. If the problem persists, format the player's memory via your computer (backup files first) or check that the audio files are in a supported format.
Can I use the player while it is charging?
The SMPS2050 uses a single AAA battery and does not have internal rechargeable battery or charging circuit. It does not charge via USB. Always use a fresh alkaline battery.
How do I set the clock on the SMPS2050?
From the main menu, go to SYS > Clock. Use Vol+/- to navigate between hour and minute, and MODE left/right to adjust values. Press MODE to confirm. The clock can also synchronize with your PC when using MTP mode.
How do I enable repeat mode or change EQ settings?
While playing music, press the MODE button to enter the selection menu. Choose Repeat or Equalizer by scrolling left/right and pressing MODE. Select the desired mode (e.g., Repeat All, Random) or EQ preset (Natural, Rock, Pop, etc.) and confirm.
How do I record voice with this player?
Select REC from the main menu. Press Play/Pause to start recording, and hold MODE to save. You can also quickly start recording from stop mode by pressing the REC button. Recorded files are in .ACT format. To play them, go to RPL (Voice Playback).
Why does my player lock up and not respond to buttons?
Check the HOLD switch on the player. If it is slid to the locked position, all buttons are disabled. Slide it back to unlock.
How do I display lyrics on the screen?
To display synchronized lyrics, create a .LRC file with the same name as the MP3/WMA file and place it in the same folder on the player. While the song is playing, hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to show lyrics. Press MODE again to hide them.
