1. License:
Thesoftware(includinganyaccompanying featuresandservices)anddocumentation (includinganyproductpackaging)(the "Documentation"),thataccompaniesthis LicenseAgreement(collectivelythe "Software")isthepropertyofSymantecor itslicensors,andisprotectedbycopyright law.AlthoughSymantecontinuestown theSoftware,afterYouracceptanceofthis LicenseAgreementYouwillhavecertain rightstousetheSoftwareduringtheService Period.The"ServicePeriod"shallbethe periodforwhichYouhaveobtainedthe rightstousetheSoftwareasdescribedinthis LicenseAgreementfromaSymantec authorizedserviceprovider("Service Provider").TheSoftwaremayautomatically deactivateandbecomenon-operationalat theendoftheServicePeriod,andYouwill notbeenitledtoreceiveanyfeatureor contentupdatestotheSoftwareunlessthe ServicePeriodisrenewed.
ThisLicenseAgreementgovernsany releases,revisions,updatesorenhancements totheSoftwaremadeavailabletoYou.Except asmaybemodifiedbytheDocumentation, andsubjecttoSymantec'srighttoterminate forYourbreachpursuanttoSection9,Your rightsandobligationswithrespecttotheuse ofthisSoftwareareasfollows.
DuringtheServicePeriod, You may:
A.useonecopyoftheSoftwareonasingle computer.Ifagreaternumberofcopies and/ornumberofcomputersisspecified withintheDocumentationortheapplicable transactiondocumentationfromtheService ProviderfromwhichYouobtainedthe Software,YoumayusetheSoftwarein accordancewithsuchspecifications;
B.makeonecopyoftheSoftwareforback-up orarchivalpurposes,orcopytheSoftware ontotheharddiskofYourcomputerand retaintheoriginalforback-uporarchival purposes;
C. usetheSoftwareonanetwork, provided that You have a licensed copy of the Software foreach computer that can access the Software over that network; and
D. usetheSoftwareinaccordancewithany additionalpermitteduseswhichmaybeset forthbelow.
Youmaynot, normayyoupermit anyotherpersonto:
A. sublicense, rentorleaseanyportionofthe Software;
B.reverseengineer,decompile,disassemble, modify,translate,makeanyattempt to discoverthesourcecodeoftheSoftwareor createderivativeworksfromtheSoftware;
C. usetheSoftwareaspartofafacility management, timesharing, serviceprovider orservicebureauarrangement, unless You are using the Software as part of a service provided by Your Service Provider; or
D. usetheSoftwareinanymannerthatisnot permittedpursuanttothisLicense Agreement.
2. SoftwareFeatureandContent Updates:
A. You shall have better right to receive new feature to the Software as Symantec, in its soled discretion, makes such features available with the Software and as provided to You by Your Service Provider during Your Service Period. Symantec continually strives to improve the usability and performance of its products and services. In order to optimize the Software Symantec may, at its discretion and without notice, add, modify or remove features from the Software at any time.
B. Certain Software uses content that is updated from timetotime, including but not limited to the following Software: antivirus and crimewares software use updated virus definitions; antispywares software uses updated spyware definitions; antispam software uses updated antispam rules; content filtering and antiphishing software use updated URL lists; some firewall software use updated firewall rules; vulnerability assessment products use updated vulnerability data and website authentication software uses updated lists of authenticated web pages; these updates are collectively referred to as "Content Updates" (oralternatively referred to as "Protection Updates" or "Security Updates" attimes). You shall have better right to receive Content Updates for the Software during YourService Period.
3. Product Installation; Required Activation:
A. During the installation process, the Software may uninstall or disable other security products, or feature thereof, if such products or features are incompatible with theSoftwareorforpurposesofimproving theoverallfunctionalityoftheSoftware.
B. Theremaybetechnologicalmeasures in this Software that are designed to prevent unlicensed or illegal use of the Software. You agree that Symantec may usethesemeasures to protect Symantec against software piracy. This Software may contain enforcement technology that limits the ability to install and uninstall the Software on a computer to not more than a finite number of times for a finite number of computers. This License Agreement and the Software containing enforcement technology may require activation as further set forth in the Documentation. If so, the Software will only operate for a finite period of time prior to Software activation by You. During activation, You may be required to provide your unique activation code accompanying the Software and computer configuration in the form of an alphanumeric code over the Internet to verify the authenticity of the Software. If you donot complete the activation within the finite period of times for the Documentation, or prompted by the Software, the Software will cease to function until activation is complete; at which timethe Software functionality will be restored. In the event that You are not able to activate the Software over the Internet, orthrough any other method specified during the activation process, You may contact Your Service Provider, or the entity set forth in the documentation issued to You by Your Service Provider.
4. Technical Support:
Certain technical support features maybe offered from within the Software and which may include live chat with technical support agent and/or assistance from a technical support agent via remote computer access (anysuch technical support offered from within the Software shall be referred to in this License Agreement as the "Technical Support"). If such features are offered and you choose to access such Technical Support the following terms shall apply. Anysuch Technical Support shall be provided in Symantec's solediscretion without any guarantee or warranty of any kind. It is solely your responsibility to complete a backup of all you existing data, software and programs before receiving any Technical Support. In the course of providing the Technical Support, Symantec may
determinethatthetechnicalissueisbeyond thescopeoftheTechnicalSupport.Symantec reservestherighttorefuse,suspendor terminateanyoftheTechnicalSupportin itssolediscretion.
5. Privacy; DataProtection:
Fromtimetotime, the Software may collect certain information from the computer on which it is installed, which may include:
Informationonpotentialsecurityrisksas wellasURLsofwebsitesvisitedthatthe Softwaredeemspotentiallyfraudulent.The URLscouldcontainpersonallyidentifiable informationthatapotentiallyfraudulent websiteisattemptingtoobtainwithoutYour permission.Thisinformationiscollectedby Symantecforthepurposedeliveringthe functionalitiesofthesoftware,andalsofor ofevaluatingandimprovingtheabilityof Symantec'sproductstodetectmalicious behavior,potentiallyfraudulentwebsitesand otherInternetsecurityrisks.
URLsofwebsitesvisitedaswellassearch keywordsandsearchresultsonlyifthe NortonSafeWebfeatureisenabled.This informationiscollectedbySymantecforthe purposeofprovidingprotectionandof evaluatingandadvisingYouregarding potentialthreatsandrisksthatmaybe associatedwithaparticularWebsitebefore Youviewit.
Executablefilesthatareidentifiedas potentialmalware,includinginformationon theactionstakenbysuchfilesatthetimeof installation.Thesefilesaresubmittedto SymantecusingtheSoftware'sautomatic submissionfunction.Thecollectedfilescould containpersonallyidentifiableinformation thathasbeenobtainedbythemalware withoutYourpermission.Filesofthistype arebeingcollectedbySymanteconlyforthe purposeofimprovingtheabilityof Symantec'sproductstodetectmalicious behavior.Suchautomaticsubmission functionmaybedeactivatedafterinstallation byfollowingtheinstructionsinthe Documentationforapplicableproducts.
Thenamegiventothecomputerduring initialsetupoftheoperatingsystem.If collected,thenamewillbeusedbySymantec asanaccountnameforthecomputerunder whichYoumayelecttoreceiveadditional servicesand/orunderwhichYoumayuse certainfeaturesoftheSoftware.Youmay changesuchaccountnameatanytimeafter installationoftheSoftware(recommended).
Statusinformationregardinginstallation andoperationoftheSoftware.This informationindicatestoSymantecwhether installationoftheSoftwarewassuccessfully completedaswellaswhethertheSoftware hasencounteredanerror.Thestatus informationcouldcontainpersonally identifiableinformationonlyifsuch informationisincludedinthenameofthe fileorfolderencounteredbytheSoftwareat thetimeofinstallationorerror.Thestatus informationiscollectedbySymantecforthe purposeofevaluatingandimproving Symantec'sproductperformanceand installationsuccessrate.Symantecmayalso usethisinformationtooptimizeits web-pages.
Informationcontainedinemailmessages thatyousendthroughtheSoftwareto Symantectoreportasspamorasincorrectly identifiedasspam.Theseemailmessages maycontainpersonallyidentifiable informationandwillbesenttoSymantec onlywithyourpermission,andwillnotbe sentautomatically.Ifyousendsuch messagestoSymantec,Symantecwilluse themonlyforthepurposeofimprovingthe detectionabilityofSymantec'santispm technology.
InformationcontainedinareportthatYou maychoosetosendtoSymantecthroughthe SoftwarewhentheSoftwareencountersa problem.Thereportincludesinformation regardingthestatusofboththeSoftwareand YourcomputeratthetimethattheSoftware encounteredtheproblem.Thestatus informationaboutYourcomputermay includethesystemlanguage,countrylocale, andtheoperatingsystemversionforYour computer,aswellastheprocessesrunning, theirstatusandperformanceinformation, anddatafromfilesorfoldersthatwereopen atthetimetheSoftwareencounteredthe problem.Theinformationcouldcontain personallyidentifiableinformationifsuch informationisincludedin,orisapartofthe nameofthefilesorfoldersopenatthetime theSoftwareencounteredtheproblem.This informationwillbesenttoSymanteconly withYourpermission,andwillnotbesent automatically.Theinformationiscollected bySymantecforthepurposeofcorrecting theencounteredproblemandimproving Symantec'sproductperformance.
TheInternetProtocol(IP)addressand/or MediaAccessControl(MAC)addressandthe MachineIDofthecomputeronwhichthe SoftwareisinstalledtoenabletheSoftware tofunctionandforlicenseadministration purposes.
Othergeneral,statisticalinformationused forproductanalysis,andforimproving productfunctionality.
Unlessitisexpresslydefinedasoptional, the collectedinformationassetoutaboveis necessaryforthepurposeofthefunctionality ofSymantec'sproducts.
Informationmaybetransferredtothe SymantecgroupintheUnitedStatesorother countriesthatmayhavelessprotectivedata protectionlawsthantheregioninwhichYou aresituated(includingtheEuropeanUnion) andmaybeaccessiblebySymantec employeesorcontractorsexclusivelytobe usedinaccordancewiththepurposes describedabove.Forthesamepurposesthe informationmaybesharedwithpartners andvendorsthatprocessinformationon behalfofSymantec.Symantechastaken stepssothatthecollectedinformation,if transferred,receivesanadequatelevelof protection.
Subjecttoapplicablelaws, Symantecreserves therighttocooperatewithanylegalprocess andanylawenforcementorother governmentinquiryrelatedtoyouruseof thisSoftware. ThismeansthatSymantec mayprovidedocumentsandinformation relevanttoacourtsubpoenaortoalaw enforcementorothergovernment investigation. Inordertopromoteawareness, detectionandpreventionofInternetsecurity risks, Symantecmaysharecertain informationwithresearchorganizationsand othersecuritysoftwarevendors. Symantec mayalsousestatisticsderivedfromthe informationtotrackandpublishreportson securityrisktrends. ByusingtheSoftware, YouacknowledgeandagreethatSymantec maycollect, transmit, store, discloseand analyzesuchinformationforthesepurposes.
6. Limited Warranty:
Symantecwarrantsthatanymedia manufacturedbySymanteconwhichthe Softwareisdistributedwillbefreefrom defectsforaperiodofsixty(60)daysfrom thedateofdeliveryoftheSoftwaretoYou. Yoursoleremedyintheeventofabreachof thiswarrantywillbethatSymantecwill,at itsoption,replaceanydefectivemedia returnedtoSymantecwithinthewarranty periodorrefundthemoneyYoupaidforthe Software.Symantecdoesnotwarrantthat theSoftwarewillmeetYourrequirementsor thatoperationoftheSoftwarewillbe uninterrupteddorthattheSoftwarewillbe error-free.
TOTHEMAXIMUMEXTENTPERMITTED BYAPPLICABLELAW,THEABOVE WARRANTYISEXCLUSIVEANDINLIEU OFALLOTHERWARRANTIES,WHETHER EXPRESSORIMPLIED,INCLUDINGTHE IMPLIEDWARRANTIESOF MERCHANTABILITY,FITNESSFORA PARTICULARPURPOSE,AND NON-INFRINGEMENTOFINTELLECTUAL PROPERTYRIGHTS.THISWARRANTY GIVESYOUSPECIFICLEGALRIGHTS.YOU MAYHAVEOTHERRIGHTS,WHICHVARY FROMSTATETOSTATEANDCOUNTRY TOCOUNTRY.

8.U.S.GovernmentRestricted Rights:
For U.S. Government procurements, the Software is deemed to be commercial computers software as defined in FAR 12.212 and subject to restricted rights as defined in FAR Section 52.227-19 "Commercial Computer Software-Restricted Rights" and DFARS 227.7202, "Rights in Commercial Computer Software or Commercial Computer Software Documentation", as applicable, and any successor regulations. Any use, modification, reproduction release, performance, display or disclosure of the Software by the U.S. Government shall be solely in accordance with the term so this License Agreement.
9. ExportRegulation:

supersedesallpriororcontemporaneousoral orwrittencommunications, proposals, and representations with respect to it subject matter; and (ii) prevail over any conflicting or additional terms of any quote, order, acknowledgment, or similar communications between the parties. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this License Agreement will diminish any rights You may have under existing consumer protection legislation or other applicable laws in Your jurisdiction that may not be waived by contract. This License Agreement shall terminate upon Your breach of any term contained in this License Agreement and You shall cease use of and destroy all copies of the Software and Documentation. The disclaimers of warranties and damages and limitations on liability shall survivetermination. ActivatingyourNortonservice
Serviceactivationinitiatesyourongoingservice.If you donotactivateyourservicewhenyouarefirst prompted,youreceiveanactivation-neededalert regularlyuntilyouactivatetheservice.Youcan activateyourservicedirectlyfromthe activation-neededalert.Alternatively,youcanusethe ActivationlinkintheSupportdrop-downlistinthe mainwindow.YoumustbeconnectedtotheInternet beforeyouproceed.Youmayneedtomanuallyenter aPIN,whichyourserviceproviderissued.The activationstepsmayvarybasedontheserviceprovider. Youcanactivateyourservicefromanynon-adminuser accountaswell.Activationshouldtakeonlyafew minutes.

When your system status or protection categories statuses are marked as AtRiskor Attention, at the bottom section of the Norton Security Suitemain window, click Fix Now to resolve all these security threats on your computer.
Respondingtosecuritystatusindicators
When your system encounters a threat or a risk, the product displays security status at the top of the main window. When a status indicator displays a status, you can take appropriate action to improve your protection status. Your protection is based on the program that are installed on your computer. To improve your protection status, ensure that your installed programs are up to date.
When your system status or protection categories statuses are marked as AtRiskor Attention, you can resolv the security issues directly from them in window.

-If you install from a CD, insert the CD into the optical drive.
InWindowsVistaorWindowsXP, clickInstallNortonSecuritySuite.
In Windows 7, click Launch Norton Install and then click Install Norton SecuritySuite.
-If you install from a USB drive, insert the USB drive into the USB port.
