1! SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Caution! Closely follow the instructions set out in this manual. All responsibility, for any eventual inconveniences, damages or fires caused by not complying with the instructions in this manual, is declined. The extractor hood has been designed exclusively for domestic use.

Caution! Do not connect the appliance to the mains until the installation is fully complete. Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the mains electrical supply.

Always wear work gloves during the maintenance, installation and lighting operations. The appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with impaired physical, sensorial or mental faculties, or if lacking in experience or knowledge, unless they are under supervision or have been trained in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. This appliance is designed to be operated by adults, children should be monitored to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance. Never use the hood without effectively mounted grating! The hood must NEVER be used as a support surface unless specifically indicated. The premises where the appliance is stalled must be sufficiently ventilated, when the kitchen hood is used together with other gas combustion devices or other fuels. The ducting system for this appliance must not be connected to any existing ventilation system which is being used for any other purpose such as discharging exhaust fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels. The flaming of foods beneath the hood itself is severely prohibited. The use of exposed flames is detrimental to the filters and may cause a fire risk, and must therefore be avoided in all circumstances. Any frying must be done with care in order to make sure that the oil does not overheat and ignite.

Caution! Accessible parts of the hood may become hot when used with cooking appliance.

With regards to the technical and safety

measures to be adopted for fume discharging it is important to closely follow the regulations provided by the local authorities. The hood must be regularly cleaned on both the inside and outside (AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH).

This must be completed in accordance with the maintenance instructions provided in this manual). Failure to follow the instructions provided in this user guide regarding the cleaning of the hood and filters will lead to the risk of fires. Do not use or leave the hood without the lamp correctly mounted due to the possible risk of electric shocks. We will not accept any responsibility for any faults, damage or fires caused to the appliance as a result of the non-observance of the instructions included in this manual.

Warning! Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.

2. USE

The hood serves to aspirate the fumes and vapors resulting from cooking.

The attached installation manual indicates the version to be used depending on the model you have, the suction version with

external evacuation or filtering with internal recirculation.

3. INSTALLATION

The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood. If provided with a plug connect the hood to a socket in compliance with current regulations and positioned in an accessible area, after installation. If it not fitted with a plug (direct mains connection) or if the plug is not located in an accessible area, after installation, apply a double pole switch in accordance with standards which assures the complete disconnection of the mains under conditions relating to over-current category III in accordance with installation instructions.

Warning! Before re-connecting the hood circuit to the mains supply and checking the efficient function, always check that the mains cable is correctly assembled.

The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 60cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to.

4. MAINTENANCE

⚠ Attention! Before performing any maintenance operation, isolate the hood from the electrical supply by switching off at the connector and removing the connector fuse. Or if the appliance has been connected through a plug and socket, then the plug must be removed from the socket. The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly (at least with the same frequency with which you carry out maintenance of the fat filters) internally and externally. Clean using the cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive products. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!

Warning! Failure to carry out the basic cleaning recommendations of the cooker hood and replacement of the filters may cause fire risks. Therefore, we recommend observing these instructions. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage to the motor or any fire damage linked to inappropriate maintenance or failure to observe the above safety recommendations.

4.1 - Grease filter - The grease filter must be cleaned once a month using non aggressive detergents, either by hand or in the dishwasher, which must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.

4.2 - NON-washable activated charcoal filter

The saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after more or less prolonged use, depending on the type of cooking and the regularity of cleaning of the grease filter.

In any case it is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every four mounths. The charcoal filter may NOT be washed or regenerated.

Fitting

  • Remove the frame pushing the two side release keys.
  • Fit each charcoal filter so to cover the plastic grid that protect the fan wheel, then turn clockwise the central handle of the charcoal filter.
  • Refit the frame (snap into place). To remove proceed in the reverse order.

5. CONTROLS

The hood is fitted with a control panel with aspiration speed selection control and a light switch to control cooking area lights.

Use the high suction speed in cases of concentrated kitchen vapours. It is recommended that the cooker hood suction is switched on for 5 minutes prior to cooking and to leave in operation during cooking and for another 15 minutes approximately after terminating cooking.

6. LIGHTING

Disconnect the hood from the electricity.

Warning! Prior to touching the light bulbs ensure they are cooled down.

  • Remove the frame pushing the two side releasekeys.
  • Replace the damaged lamp. Use ∅35mm E14 28W halogen candle lamps only.
  • Refit the frame (Snap into place).

This document sets out the terms and conditions of the product warranties for Electrolux Appliances. It is an important document. Please keep it with your proof of purchase documents in a safe place for future reference should you require service for your Appliance.

  1. In this warranty:

(a) 'acceptable quality' as referred to in clause 10 of this warranty has the same meaning referred to in the ACL;
(b) 'ACL' means Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010;
(c) 'Appliance' means any Electrolux product purchased by you and accompanied by this document;

(d) 'ASC' means Electrolux authorised service centres;

(e) 'Electrolux' means Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd of 163 O'Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020, ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited (collectively 'Electrolux') of 3-5 Niall Burgess Road, Mount Wellington, in respect of Appliances purchased in New Zealand;

(f) 'major failure' as referred to in clause 10 of this warranty has the same meaning referred to in the ACL and includes a situation when an Appliance cannot be repaired or it is uneconomic for Electrolux, at its discretion, to repair an Appliance during the Warranty Period;

(g) 'Warranty Period' means the Appliance is warranted against manufacturing defects in Australia for 24 months and in New Zealand for 24 months, following the date of original purchase of the Appliance;

(h) 'you' means the purchaser of the Appliance not having purchased the Appliance for re-sale, and 'your' has a corresponding meaning.

  1. This warranty only applies to Appliances purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand and used in normal domestic applications and is in addition to (and does not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) any non-excludable statutory warranties in Australia or New Zealand.

  2. During the Warranty Period Electrolux or its ASC will, at no extra charge if your Appliance is readily accessible for service, without special equipment and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it considers to be defective. Electrolux or its ASC may use remanufactured parts to repair your Appliance. You agree that any replaced Appliances or parts become the property of Electrolux. This warranty does not apply to light globes, batteries, filters or similar perishable parts.

  3. Parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux are not covered by this warranty.

  4. To the extent permitted by law, you will bear the cost of transportation, travel and delivery of the Appliance to and from Electrolux or its ASC. If you reside outside of the service area, you will bear the cost of:

(a) travel of an authorised representative;

(b) transportation and delivery of the Appliance to and from Electrolux or its ASC.

In all instances, unless the Appliance is transported by Electrolux or an Electrolux authorised representative, the Appliance is transported at the owner's cost and risk while in transit to and from Electrolux or its ASC.

  1. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim under this warranty.

  2. You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship. Electrolux is not liable in the following situations (which are not exhaustive):

(a) the Appliance is damaged by:

(i) accident
(ii) misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or service
(iii) normal wear and tear
(iv) power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power supply
(v) incomplete or improper installation
(vi) incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation
(vii) insect or vermin infestation
(viii) failure to comply with any additional instructions supplied with the Appliance;

(b) the Appliance is modified without authority from Electrolux in writing;

(c) the Appliance's serial number or warranty seal has been removed or defaced;

(d) the Appliance was serviced or repaired by anyone other than Electrolux, an authorised repairer or ASC.

  1. This warranty, the contract to which it relates and the relationship between you and Electrolux are governed by the law applicable where the Appliance was purchased. Where the Appliance was purchased in New Zealand for commercial purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act does not apply.

  2. To the extent permitted by law and subject to your non-excludable statutory rights and warranties, Electrolux excludes all warranties and liabilities (other than as contained in this document) including liability for any loss or damage whether direct or indirect arising from your purchase, use or non use of the Appliance.

  3. For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in Australia, the Appliances come with a guarantee by Electrolux that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Appliance repaired or replaced if the Appliance fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits to you given by this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the Appliances or services to which the warranty relates.

  4. At all times during the Warranty Period, Electrolux shall, at its discretion, determine whether repair, replacement or refund will apply if an Appliance has a valid warranty claim applicable to it.

  5. For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in New Zealand, the Appliances come with a guarantee by Electrolux pursuant to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Sale of Goods Act and the Fair Trading Act.

  6. To enquire about claiming under this warranty, please follow these steps: (a) carefully check the operating instructions, user manual and the terms of this warranty;

(b) have the model and serial number of the Appliance available;

(c) have the proof of purchase (e.g. an invoice) available;

(d) telephone the numbers shown below.

  1. You accept that if you make a warranty claim, Electrolux and its ASC may exchange information in relation to you to enable Electrolux to meet its obligations under this warranty.
