MAN-CNDV-7OT-EN.fim Page 3 Monday, June 4, 2007 1:55 PM Before Upgrading the Software Programme Possible risk when upgrading There is a possible risk that the stored user-regis- tered data may be lost upon completion of the update. Please be aware that the manufacturer cannot take any responsibility for lost data in the event that data is lost. When the update procedure is complete, the navigation system will be restarted. After the system has started up again, do NOT to turn off the power supply for the navigation system until the map of your surroundings appears Anyexisting calculated routes will be erased. The data for “Address Book” (including “Return Home” and “Go to" data), ‘Areas to Avoid”, and learned data of the sensor will remain. Cus- tomised settings other than above return to the default If you use the remote control type, all the data will be erased and customised settings will return to the default. Backing up Address book ent Gincluding “Return Home” and “Go to data) There is the possible risk of the “Address Book” data (including “Return Home” and “Go to data) and the “Destination History" data being lost during the update process. Itis highly recommended to use a PC Card (PCMCIA TYPE II <5 V>) to back up the data Since the “Destination History” cannot be stored on à PC Card directly, to store the “Destination History" data, first register it as an entry of “Address Book" and then copy it onto the PC Card. (For detailed information about storing the data to PC Card, refer to the manual included in the hardware package when you purchased the navigation system or previous upgrade package.)
