USE
Turn the knob to the setting you require for cooking, taking into account that the higher the number, the greater the heat.

When the lamp is lit, it means that the plate is "on".
For certain types of lamp, it is perfectly normal for a weak light to stay on even when the plates have been switched off.
TIPS AND WARNINGS:
For the best results and maximum plate life, use only utensils that are recommended for electric plates, i.e. utensils that have a reinforced, perfectly flat bottom.
The utensils must also be the same diameter, or slightly wider than the plate used. They must never be smaller.
Never use the plates without utensils, or when the utensil is empty.
When a liquid has boiled, or has been heated, turn down the heat to prevent it boiling over.
Turn the knob to the "0" position when you have finished cooking.

MAINTENANCE
ANY ADJUSTMENT, MAINTENANCE, ETC. MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE HOB UNPLUGGED AT THE MAINS.
To extend the life of the hob, it has to be cleaned periodically. Follow these instructions:
- Electric plates
To clean a plate, heat it up for a few moments so as to burn any products that
may have been left during manufacture.
Turn off the hob at the mains and leave the hob to cool; then clean with a damp cloth and lubricate with oil while it is still warm.
- Control panel
To keep the control panel in pristine condition, you must not clean it with abrasive products or dirty, dry cloths. To make cleaning easier, the knobs can be removed by pulling them upwards, but do not use the control panel as a lever; if the knob is difficult to remove, place a cloth under the knob and lever it off carefully.
- Enamelled parts
Clean the hob when it is cold using soap and water. Then dry the hob with a dry, clean cloth. Do not clean the hob when it is hot so that the colour of the enamel does not fade.
- Stainless steel parts
Use products that are available in shops.
FITTER'S INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION
All the installation procedures (electrical connections) must be carried out by an electrician in accordance with the standards and laws in force.
ANY ADJUSTMENT, MAINTENANCE, ETC. MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE HOB UNPLUGGED AT THE MAINS.
POSITION
The hob is designed to be fitted into a work surface which is larger then the hob. See Fig. 1 and 2.
If the hob is to be fitted into a surface/oven, follow the instructions of the oven manufacturer and ensure that the ventilation complies with Fig. 5. The two pieces of equipment must have their electrics connected separately both for electrical reasons and to make them easier to remove.
The hob is supplied with a seal (C) to prevent infiltration into the unit. The seal must be fitted carefully into its seat, as per Fig. 6.
Fasten the hob with the brackets (A), as shown in Fig. 6.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before connecting the electrics, ensure that:
- the household power supply meets the requirements on the plate located under the hob and featured in this booklet;
- there is an earth system and that it works correctly;
- if the hob does not have a power cable, use material that meets the requirements indicated on the plate located under the hob and featured in this booklet;
- for a direct connection to the mains, there must be an omnipolar cut-off device on the power-supply line, with a contact cut-off distance of 3 mm or over. The device must also be located in an accessible position near the hob (the yellow-green earth wire must not be interrupted).
To connect the electrics, follow the instructions:
- Turn the hob upside down;
- Unscrew the 4 bolts that fasten the casing to the electric plates;
- Open the casing, paying attention to the wires for the electric plates and to the light;
- Thread the wire through the correct feed hole and fasten it;
- Connect the wire as shown in the enclosed wiring diagram;
- Replace the casing, paying attention to the wires for the electric plates;
- Fasten the bolts that secure the casing to the electric plates.
