Frequently Asked Questions - EWA 3100 AEG-ELECTROLUX

How to use the kettle for the first time?
Before first use, wipe the exterior of the appliance. Open the lid by pressing the button, fill with water up to the Max mark, then close the lid properly. Place the kettle on the base and lower the On/Off switch. The indicator light turns on and the water heats up. The automatic shut-off activates when boiling.
What to do if the appliance stops before the water boils?
This is generally due to excessive limescale on the base of the kettle. Perform a complete descaling with a suitable descaling product, following the manufacturer's instructions.
How to clean the anti-limescale filter?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Remove the filter by pulling it upward. Rinse it under running water or use a soft brush. Replace it by pushing it in until it clicks.
How often should I descale the kettle?
The frequency depends on the hardness of your water. As a general rule, descale every 1 to 3 months to prevent limescale buildup and extend the life of the appliance.
Why does the power indicator not light up?
Check that the kettle is correctly placed on the base and that the switch is properly lowered. Also ensure that the electrical outlet works and that the cord is not damaged.
Can I use the kettle with water other than tap water?
The kettle is designed only for heating water. Do not pour milk, soup, or other liquids into it, as this could damage the appliance and void the warranty.
How to clean the exterior of the kettle?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or caustic products, and never immerse the kettle or base in water.
What to do if the lid does not lock properly?
Make sure no debris is blocking the locking mechanism. If the lid remains improperly closed, do not force it; the automatic shut-off system may not work. Contact customer service for a replacement.
Is the appliance under warranty?
Yes, the warranty is 24 months for domestic use from the delivery date. For professional use, it is 12 months. Keep your proof of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, but not damage due to misuse.
