Programme 1: Pre-washing

Can be used for any heavily soiled clothes we recommend to use it before programs 3 - 10 - 15.

At the end of the cycle the machine stops and then it is ready for a further programme.

ELECTRICAL SUPPLY AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Our washing machines are supplied to operate at 220-230 V, 50 Hz. Make sure that the power rating is at least 3 Kw. Then connect the plug to a suitable 10 A earthed socket. Make sure that it is properly earthed. Your socket and the washing machine plug must be of the same kind. We would generally not recommend the use of multiple plug adapters or extension leads. Zerowatt washing machines are manufactured to IMQ institute safety requirements.

The use of any appliance requires that some basic rules be observed, in order to ensure personal safety; for example: - do not touch the machine by wet hands or feet.

- do not use the machine when you are bare foot; - do not use extension leads in the bathroom unless special care is taken;

- do not expose the machine in the open air (under rain, sunshine or other).

WARNING The machine is equipped with devices against radio interferences, according to the current laws. In case the machine is not connected with the earthing, the manufacturer is not responsible for any damage to persons or properties caused by some faulty or uncomplete earthing.

MESSA IN OPERA INSTALLAZIONE

SETTING UP INSTALLATION

After taking the machine out of its packing, proceed as follows:

Work on the back side of the machine 1) Unscrew the central rod A, the 2 side screws C and remove the bar D. and the relevant plastic spacer. 2) Unscrew the two rods B and remove them. N° 2 or N° 4 plastic spacers will fall inside the machine. 3) By lifting the machine, remove the above mentioned plastic spacers. 4) Stop the holes using the plugs that you will find inside the bag containing the instruction booklet. Use front feet to level the machine with the floor. Place the machine which is fitted with 2 adjustable feet in position.

Important!! If the appliance is going to be installed on a carpet or rug, make sure that the ventilation grille in the base of the machine is not blocked.

WARNING! Keep bar and bolts for use again during transport. The manufacturer is not responsible for possible damage caused to the machine by non use of the transit fixings during transport.

Remove the back panel G by loosening the screws. Remove the plugs I, take the outlet hose and put it into the hole that you want to use, after having removed the plug H. To insert into the holes two clips F. If you choose the outlet to be positioned on the opposite side of the cabinet, fasten the hose by passing it under the two clips F on the lower edge, making sure that the hose is kept well-straight. To high ten the clips Stop the hole that is still open, using the plug H. Finally, fasten the hose on the outer side of the cabinet using the semi-plugs I and then reposition the back panel G.

SERVICE CENTER

In the case of a breakdown and/or incorrect functioning, turn the appliance off and do not tamper with it. Only contact an Official Service Centre and ask for original spare parts. If you fail to follow this advice you may compromise the safety of the appliance.

To select the wash programme suited to type of clothes and degree of soiling, see the TABLE OF PROGRAMMES in the initial part of this booklet. But there are some stains which are particularly difficult to remove. In these cases you should act as follows:

TYPE OF STAINS	SOLUTION
Pen, band for type-writer, copying pencil, carbon paper	Pretreat with a liquid detergent. Rub the stain lightly with a cotton sheet soaked with alcohol. In the case of an old stain, use a bleaching element or rinse-aid according to the type of clothes.
Perspiration	Difficult to remove, but you can try with just cold water, or rinsing them with cold water and vinegar or with some ammonia and alcohol in equal quantities.
Industrial dirt (collars and cuffs)	Treat the dirtiest part with a liquid detergent before washing in a washing machine
Varnish	Remove these stains with oil of turpentine, and then sponge all the traces out with talc.
Sugar	If the stains are old and dry, soften them with steam and then wash. If it is wool, silk or not strong colours, remove the sugar stains by rinsing them with cold water.
Chewing gum	Rub with an ice cube and scrape. Rinse with benzine.
Nail-polish and glue	Dab with a cotton bud soaked with acetone.
Tar	Rinse the stain with trichloroethylene and oil of turpentine.

Get the best results from your new Zerowatt machine

To ensure you get the best results from your new Zerowatt machine it is important to use the right detergent in your everyday wash. There are many detergents available in the market and making a choice from the wide range available can often be confusing. At Zerowatt we regularly test many different types of detergent to assess which give the best wash results in our machines. We found only one brand always lives up to our exacting standards and provides outstanding cleaning across a broad range of dirt and stains, as well as providing high levels of fabric care. That's why Zerowatt gave Ariel their official seal of approval.

WASHING POWDERS AND RINSE-AIDS

The machine is fitted with a 4 compartment soap dispenser drawer:

= prewash powders

II = wash powders

△ = bleach

= fabric conditioners

Gently pull out the dispenser drawer by the handle.

Place the required washing powder and rinse-aids in the compartment for the

programme selected

referring to the washing chart. For the softeners do not fill over the level indicated by the grid in compartments △ and ⚙.

If you use liquid detergents, follow the instructions of the manufacturers.

After placing the powder and before starting the machine, firmly push in the drawer.

WARNING! Do not use any bleaching agents in the soft programmes.

To obtain better results in your wash, we recommend that you do not use any powder which has got damp, and has a lumpy appearance.

Powders and rinse-aids must be used in the quantities suggested by the manufactures, and however not over the following rates:

- abt. 60 gr. powder into pre-wash and was compartments;

-abt. 100 gr. bleach into the bleach compartment △;

- abt. 50 cc. rinse aid into the opposite compartment

To avoid unnecessary and possibly expensive service calls, before requesting service it is in your interest to make the following checks:

FAULT	CAUSE	REMEDY
A If the machine does not start make sure that:	The plug is not in the socket.Electricity is off.The door is open.On/off button not pressed.	Put the plug into the socket.Please check.Close the door properly.Press the on/off button.

D If the machine fills with water and leaks continuously:	Leak from the gasket of water fill hose.	Replace the gasket.
E If the machine is noisy or not resting evenly on the floor make sure that:	The machine is not perfectly level.The machine hasn't been properly unpacked.The machine hasn't been loaded evenly.	Adjust the feet properly.Follow the instructions.Load the machine in a more even way.
