Frequently Asked Questions - VX-2652H SHARP

How do I set the decimal place on my Sharp VX-2652H?

Use the DECIMAL SELECTOR switch on the front. Positions: F (floating), 0, 2, 3, 4, 6 fixed decimals. For example, set to 2 for two decimal places in currency calculations.

How does the rounding selector work?

The ROUNDING SELECTOR offers three modes: ↑ (round up), 5/4 (round off), and ↓ (round down). Choose based on your calculation needs; e.g., for tax, use 5/4.

How do I use the memory functions?

The calculator has two memories. Use M1 (first memory) and M2 (second memory) keys. Press M+ to add to memory, M- to subtract, MR to recall, and MC to clear. The display shows M1 or M2 symbol when a value is stored.

What does the 'E' error mean?

The E symbol indicates an overflow or error. Common causes: entering more than 12 digits (or 11 decimals), result exceeding 12 integer digits, or division by zero. Press CE/C or ◀ to clear the error.

How do I store and use a tax rate?

Press STORE (or SET) key, enter the rate (max 4 digits), then press %. For example, to set 8% tax: press STORE, 8, %. Use TAX+ to add tax, TAX- to subtract. To recall the stored rate, press MR (or RECALL) then %.

How do I replace the paper roll?

Lift the paper holder, fold the leading edge 3-5 cm, insert from the left with paper feeding from bottom, feed into the slot, and press the PAPER FEED key to advance until it exits the cutter.

How do I change the ink ribbon?

Open the printer cover, remove the old ribbon cartridge, insert a new one (Sharp compatible), and ensure it is properly seated. Close the cover. The calculator uses a 2-color ribbon (black/red).

Can I use the calculator in silent (non-print) mode?

Yes. Set the PRINT MODE SELECTOR to • (non-print) position. In this mode, calculations are displayed but not printed. To resume printing, set to P (print) or P IC (print with item count).

What is the item count feature?

When the selector is set to P IC, each addition or subtraction increments or decrements a counter (up to 3 digits). The count is printed with the result. Use ◀ or C to clear the counter.

How do I clean the calculator?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use solvents, water, or wet cloth. To avoid damage, keep the calculator away from moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures.

To insure trouble-free operation of your SHARP calculator, we recommend the following:
1. The calculator should be kept in areas free from extreme temperature changes, moisture, and dust.
2. A soft, dry cloth should be used to clean the calculator.
Do not use solvents or a wet cloth.
3. Since this product is not waterproof, do not use it or store it where fluids, for example water, can splash onto it.
Raindrops, water spray, juice, coffee, steam, perspiration,
etc. will also cause malfunction.
4. If you are not going to use the calculator for a time period, please pull out the power cord to cut electricity completely. In this case, the presently stored tax/discount rate will be cleared.
5. If service should be required on this equipment, use only a SHARP servicing dealer, a SHARP approved service

Non-Add - When this key is pressed right after entry of a number in the Print mode, the entry is printed on the left-hand side with "#". This key is used to print out numbers not subject to calculations such as codes, dates, etc.

Subtotal - Used to get subtotal(s) of additions and/or subtractions. When pressed following ± or - , the subtotal is printed with “◇” and the calculation may be continued.

By pressing this key even in the Non-print mode, the displayed number is printed with "P".

Prints the total of addition and subtraction with “*”. This key also serves as a clear key for the calculation register and resets an error condition.

PAPER ROLL REPLACEMENT

1. Lift the paper holder up. (Fig. 1)
2. Fold the leading edge of the paper roll 3 to 5 cm.
   (Do not fold it slantwise.) (Fig. 2)
3. Insert the paper roll from the left side of the paper holder
   and make sure the paper roll is set in the proper direction
   (with the paper feeding from the bottom), (Fig. 3)
4. Insert the leading edge of the paper into the open
   directly behind the print mechanism. (Fig. 4)
