How do I turn on the Sharp EL-244T calculator?

Press the ON/C button. To turn off, press OFF or it will auto-off after about 7 minutes.

How do I change the battery?

Slide the battery cover off, remove the old LR54 battery, and insert a new one with the correct polarity (+/-). Replace the cover.

How do I calculate a percentage?

Enter the number, press %, then enter the percentage. For example: 200 % 10 gives 20.

What does the 'E' error mean?

The E (Error) indicator appears when a calculation exceeds the display capacity or when dividing by zero. Press ON/C to clear.

How do I use the memory function?

Press M+ to add the displayed number to memory, M- to subtract, MR to recall, and MC to clear memory.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

It is recommended to use a non-rechargeable LR54 alkaline battery. Rechargeable batteries may have lower voltage and cause malfunction.

How do I clean the calculator?

Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Keep liquids away from the device.

What is the display capacity?

The display shows up to 8 digits, including a minus sign. Results with more digits will be rounded or show an error.

Does the calculator have a square root function?

Yes, press the √ button after entering a number to calculate its square root.

Why is the display faint or blank?

The battery may be low or exhausted. Replace the battery with a new LR54. Also check that the battery is installed correctly.
