WARRANTY CONDITIONS
IN THE EVENT OF A WARRANTY CLAIM, THE MANUFACTURER OR IT'S AGENT WILL REQUIRE THE INVOICE AS PROOF OF PURCHASE DATE.
FAILURE TO PRODUCE AN INVOICE WILL RESULT IN THE WARRANTY BEING NULL AND VOID AND THE CLAIMANT WILL BE CHARGED THE TECHNICIANS TRAVELLING COSTS.
THE SPECIFIED VOLTAGE OF THE APPLIANCE IS 230 ± 15% FAILURE ARISING DUE TO VOLTAGE OUTSIDE SPECIFIED LIMITS WILL NOT BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on purchasing a quality freezer. To ensure maximum benefit from your new freezer, please read these instructions carefully. It will also provide you with the necessary information on how to operate and care for your freezer. These instructions are however, not meant to cover every situation that might occur. Common sense and caution must be practiced when installing and operating the freezer. This freezer has been manufactured and assembled to the utmost stringent quality standards. All materials used on the freezer have been fully tested prior to leaving the factory. We are confident you will enjoy many years of trouble free use from your freezer.
WARNINGS

The R600a refrigerant is highly flammable. This unit must only be serviced by a qualified technician.

Maximum caution should be taken in handling this unit. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damages caused by improper handling.

The user manual should be read and understood before installing this unit. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for personal injury or property damage caused by non-compliance with the instructions in this manual.

Keep the unit out of direct sunlight.

Always disconnect the appliance from the mains power before attempting to do any maintenance work.

Make sure that power supply voltage corresponds to that indicated onthe data label of the unit.

Read the appliance stickers carefully, and never cover them.

Keep this booklet safely for future consultation.

Do not use mechanical or other means to accelerate the operation process of the appliance, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

Do not allow children to play or hide in the refrigerator to prevent the risk of trapping and suffocation.
UNPACKING AND STORING
Shipping
The unit is supplied in a package containing polystyrene protection. Never drag the unit by the sides or any other part. If the unit must be shipped, use the original packaging, which ensures sufficient stability during transportation.
Storing
Storing temperature must be between 10 °C and 45 °C, with air humidity between 30% and 85%. Keep the unit safe from direct sunlight. If the unit must be out of service for a long period of time before use, leave it in its original packaging, which guarantees optimum protection. Make sure conditions correspond to the above requirements. If the unit must be out of service for a long period of time after use, be certain that it is materially disconnected from the electrical power supply, clean it thoroughly with lukewarm water and soap, then wipe it carefully and cover with a polythene bag. waterproof

- Do not store bottled food or drinks in the freezer.
- Never splash water/liquids onto the freezer.
- The freezer must not be operated next to explosive gases.
- Do not use flammable sprays near the freezer when it is in operation.
- Do not put volatile chemicals such as benzine, ether, adhesives etc. in the freezer.
If you are unsure of the correct electrical connection of your freezer, we recommend that you contact a qualified electrician.
NOTE: THE R600a REFRIGERANT IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE
Listed below are some tips to assist you when freezing food or packing your freezer.
Allow 12 hours of operating time before loading the freezer. When bulk freezing, load the freezer in stages approximately 25% of the total freezer space & allow to freeze before further loading. Divide food into reasonable portions sized according to your requirements. When freezing meat cutlets, chops etc, insert plastic or foil between the portions before wrapping. This will ensure easy separation.

2 When freezing liquids or soft foods never fill the containers to the maximum. During freezing, liquids increase their volume by approximately 10%

3 All food should be stored sealed or in airlight containers. This will ensure prolonged nutritional value and avoid the mixing of tastes & odours.

Your freezer should be cleaned in the following manner both on the installation & when defrosting:
Remove all food and disconnect the power source.
Wash the interior of the freezer with a mild household cleaner or two tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda diluted in 250ml of warm water.
Clean all loose fittings inside the freezer e.g. baskets.
To ensure optimum energy efficiency, it is recommended that the condenser (panel on rear) is periodically vacuumed to prevent any dust or lint accumulation.
To defrost the freezer please proceed as follows:
- Disconnect power supply. Please note that turning the temperature control to 0 will NOT switch the power off. Failure to disconnect the power supply may result in electrical shock or personal injury.

- Remove all food and baskets from the freezer and store in a cool place. Frozen goods may be stored in a fridge during this process.
- Leave the freezer lid open or to speed up the process, place a plastic bowl of hot water in the freezer and close the lid.
- Once the ice has melted and the water has been removed, clean and dry the freezer.
- Replace food and baskets.
- Do not forget to reconnect the power supply.
NB. Never hack/chip at the ice with a plastic or metal tool in an attempt to hasten the process.
SERVICING
Failure to disconnect the power may result in electrical shock or personal injury.

The place of service should be well ventilated and there should be no ignition source in case of gas leak.

THE UNIT MUST BE CHARGED WITH THE CORRECT REFRIGERANT. (a) (See specifications)

THE MAXIMUM R600a GAS CHARGE MUST NOT EXCEED 150 GRAMS. (See specifications)
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Please check the following points:
Should the freezer not get cold:
Check that the indicator light is on, if it is off:
- The power source may have been switched off or disconnected at the plug.
- An electrical fault may have tripped the main circuit board in the house.
If the freezer is making unusual noises:
- The appliance may not be standing firmly or level.
- The pipes at the rear may be in contact with the wall.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
Guarantee Conditions
- The guarantee is valid for Twenty Four (24) months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first retail purchaser, which must be verified by purchase invoice or similar documentation.
- Kelvinator guarantees the equipment against defective material or faulty manufacture, provided it is used for domestic use from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. If not used as above-mentioned, the warranty period will limited.
- If the appliance is used or installed more than Fifty (50) kilometres from the nearest Kelvinator Authorised Service Agent, the additional distance covered shall be for the account of the purchaser.
- The risk in regard to appliances to be repaired shall at all times remain with the purchaser
- This guarantee is given on condition that only genuine Kelvinator parts and accessories are used at all times in the appliance.
- Kelvinator shall not be responsible for damage of any kind resulting from electricity fluctuations, faults in the building wiring, faulty installations, improper use of controls or failure to use the appliance in accordance with the operating instructions and/or general misuse and/or abuse, which would include unforeseen accidents, wear and tear, and/or earthquake, flood, lightning or any other natural disaster beyond the control of Kelvinator.
- Any attempt by an unauthorised person to repair or tamper with the appliance shall render this guarantee null and void.
- This guarantee does not include bulbs, loose glass, glass oven doors, enamelled surfaces, discolouring of stainless steel surfaces, filters and other parts subject to wear and tear.
- Kelvinator shall not be responsible in terms of this guarantee for the replacement or repair of any parts of the appliance if damaged during transit, where packaging damage is visible.
- Repairs carried out under guarantee do not extend the guarantee period for the appliance. Parts removed during guarantee repairs become the property of Kelvinator.
- This guarantee shall be available only to a purchaser of Kelvinator appliances from an authorised Electrolux Home Products/Kelvinator Dealer or Distributor in and where the appliance has been retained for use in the Republic South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
- Failure to produce documentary proof of the date or original acquisition by the original purchaser will result in normal charges being levied for the work carried out and the parts supplied.
- The liability of Kelvinator under this guarantee is limited to the replacement and/or repair of the defective parts within the guarantee period and does not extend to be installation or removal of the appliance. Furthermore, Kelvinator does not accept responsibility or liability to compensate for any consequential loss or damage of any kind caused by or due to the failure of operation or malfunction of any equipment to which this guarantee applies.
- It is at the sole discretion of Kelvinator that, in terms of guarantee, consideration be given to replace the appliance due to various parts failing of a similar nature or in the event of the appliance being in a state of beyond repair.
