USE
Before use
Before using for the first time, or if the kettle has not been used for a long time, fill the kettle to the MAX. marking and boil. Pour out the water and repeat. Wipe the kettle with a damp cloth.
Use
- Place the kettle on a stable, level surface.
- Lift the kettle from the base.
- Press the button to open the lid, fill with the amount of water required and close the lid. The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. markings. If there is too little water in the kettle the appliance switches off before the water boils.
- Place the kettle on the base.
- Plug in the plug.
-
Press the power switch. The indicator light comes on and the kettle boils the water. The kettle switches off automatically when the water boils. Wait at least 30 seconds before starting the kettle again.
-
Lift the kettle from the base and pour out the water. The kettle switches off automatically when lifted from the base.
- The kettle remains switched off until started again using the power switch. The kettle can be stored on the base when not in use.
NOTE:
- Do not overfill - risk of splashing. Never fill the kettle beyond the MAX mark. Check that the lid is closed before inserting the plug.
- Check that the power switch can move freely and the lid can be closed correctly. The kettle will not switch off if the power switch is blocked or if the lid is open.
- Pull out the plug when the kettle is not in use.
Boil-dry protection
The boil-dry protection prevents the kettle from starting without water in the kettle. If the boil-dry protection trips, allow the kettle to cool, fill with water and start again.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
- Pull out the plug and allow the kettle to cool before cleaning.
-
Do not immerse the kettle, power cord, plug or the base in water or any other liquid.
-
Wipe the base with a soft, damp cloth, never use toxic or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage the kettle.
- Clean the filter regularly. Loosen the filter by pressing the filter catch on the kettle. Replace the filter after cleaning.
- The power cord can be wound around the lower part of the kettle.
Descaling
Descale the kettle regularly for best functionality. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer if using a special descaling agent. The kettle can also be descaled with a mixture of equal parts of water and vinegar as set below:
- Pour as much of the vinegar mixture in the kettle to cover the heating element completely. Leave the water in the kettle overnight.
- Pour out the vinegar mixture, fill the kettle to the MAX mark with clean water, boil up, and pour out the water. Repeat several times, until the smell of vinegar disappears. Any stains in the spout can be removed using a damp cloth.
