Frequently Asked Questions - 921510 CaterChef

What type of chocolate should be used in the CaterChef 921510 fountain?
Use high-quality couverture chocolate with a cocoa butter content of at least 30%. Avoid chocolate chips or chocolate with additives like wax, as they may clog the fountain. Melt the chocolate slowly and add a little vegetable oil (e.g., sunflower) if needed to achieve a smooth, flowing consistency.
How to melt chocolate for the fountain?
Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it gently using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts (15-20 seconds), stirring frequently. Do not overheat (max 45°C). Once melted, pour it into the fountain basin and turn on the heating and motor.
How to clean the chocolate fountain after use?
Disconnect the fountain and let it cool completely. Disassemble the tiers and basin. Wash all parts in warm soapy water (hand wash recommended; tiers and basin are dishwasher safe but avoid high heat). Dry thoroughly before reassembly. Do not submerge the motor base in water.
Why is the chocolate not flowing properly?
The chocolate may be too thick. Add a small amount of vegetable oil (coconut or sunflower) to thin it. Also ensure the fountain is preheated before adding chocolate and that the motor is running. If the chocolate is still not flowing, check that the basin is level and the tiers are correctly assembled.
Can I use white or dark chocolate in this fountain?
Yes, but each type requires different thinning. White chocolate is naturally thinner, while dark chocolate may need more oil. Always use couverture quality. For milk chocolate, standard thinning is usually sufficient.
How to prevent chocolate from hardening during use?
Keep the fountain running continuously and ensure the heating element is on. Do not leave the fountain idle for long periods. If the chocolate starts to thicken, stir it gently and add a little warm oil.
What is the maximum capacity of the fountain?
The basin holds up to 500 g of chocolate. Do not overfill, as it may overflow when the tiers are assembled. For best results, use 400-450 g.
Is the CaterChef 921510 safe to leave unattended?
It is recommended to never leave the fountain unattended while in use. The fountain has overheat protection, but as with any electrical appliance, supervise it. Keep away from children and pets.
How to assemble the fountain tiers?
Place the motor base on a flat, stable surface. Attach the base tier to the central shaft, then stack the remaining tiers in order (largest at bottom, smallest at top). Ensure each tier locks into place. Finally, place the crown on top.
What to do if the motor stops working?
First, check if the fountain is plugged in and the switch is on. If the motor still doesn't run, the thermal fuse may have tripped (let it cool for 30 minutes and try again). If persistent, contact CaterChef support or a qualified technician for repair. Do not attempt to open the motor base yourself.

Illustration on function parameters:

  1. Return difference temperature F2: F2 = set temperature – lower limit temperature, assuming that the temperature should be controlled between 20^ C and 22^ C, set temperature as 22^ C, the lower limit temperature as 20^ C, then the return difference temperature F2 = 2^ C (default return difference as 2^ C).
  2. Temperature error correction F1: When the display temperature and actual temperature are different, this parameter can be corrected to make the two identical, F1 = actual temperature - display temperature.
  3. When the temperature sensor meets "Measuring temperature = set temperature - return difference temperature F2", the red indicator is on which means an automatic access to the heating device; When the temperature sensors meets "measuring temperature = set temperature," the red heat indicator is off and the yellow ready indicate light is on which means the heating device is cut off.
  4. Digital temperature controller: It is on the control panel and mainly in charge of controlling the heating temperature of the heat pipe to ensure the water temperature inside the tank.

TRANSPORTATION AND MAINTENANCE

While in transportation, there is foam inside the product to well take the pressure from the outside and to protect the product. The product is made of stainless steel, and needs to be handled carefully. Don't put it upside down, and don't place it near erosive subjects. The machine should be cleaned right after use.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

  1. Place the machine on a flat, level surface. Leave the two sides of the machine at least 10 cm from the wall and the back of the machine at least 20 cm from nonflammable objects;
  2. Power supply voltage must conform to the voltage stated on the data plate;
  3. A residual current device needs to be installed near where the machine is operated; a separate 15A socket is recommended.
  4. Before use, please check whether all parts are firmly joined, and whether power supply is safely grounded.
  5. Heating must not be on without water added (attention: when the machine is in use, minimum water level in tank must be completely above heating pipe, or the heating pipe will be damaged and it will be very dangerous; the maximum water level is indicated as the highest line in the tank, and do not add too much water in the tank or overflow will cause danger too; in case of overflow, please immediately power off the machine and pull out the electric plug).
  6. Installation and maintenance of this product must be done by electricians with operation certificates.

OPERATION

  1. Before use, do check whether all electric parts are well connected, whether water level in tank is between maximum and minimum lines, whether drain valve on the side is sealed up, and whether exhaust valve is open;
  2. Put the stainless steel pot on the water tank;
  3. After switching on the power, the SWITCH is on and after the switch lights and the display are on, press the SET and to set the desired temperature by pressing △ or ▽; When the temperature is set, the red heating indicator light (HEAT) is on indicating the heating pipe starts to work; The temperature inside the tank begins to rise to the set temperature, the thermostat automatically cuts off the power supply, the red heat indicator (HEAT) turns off, yellow(THERMAL) light is on and the heat pipe stops working; when the temperature drops to a pre-set at the lower limit temperature, the thermostat automatically connects to power for heating again. By this cycle, the temperature of the tank is made sure to arrive at the set temperature range.
  4. Note: Do not arbitrarily set the internal parameters generally unless they fail to meet uses and need to be adjusted again and the parameters are set as follows:
    A. Press for 6 seconds or more for parameter setting, when the window displays "F1", it indicates to enter the "temperature error correction" when press △ or ▽ adjust the temperature error, F1 = actual temperature - display temperature.
    B. Then press SET to search for F1, F2 key by scrolling, select the desired adjustment parameter to press the AND keys for parameter modification.
    C. The parameter setting operation can be exited automatically after about eight seconds' operation.
  5. Turn temperature controller to 50-60 degrees Celsius (temperature can be raised or lowered based on the types and ingredients of chocolate and the change of room temperatures), and the heating process is on at the time (the red light is on). shred the chocolate cubes (shredding chocolate speeds up melting) and put the pieces into the pot, stir with a spoon until the chocolate has been completely melted and turn the temperature controller to 40 degrees Celsius to keep it warm enough.
  6. Turn off the machine if not in use for long, otherwise the chocolate will not taste good;
  7. Do not add water if the melted chocolate becomes too sticky; add a little salad oil or cocoa butter;
  8. After use please turn the machine off and pull out the electric plug.
  9. Do stop using the machine at once if anything unusual happens; the machine can be put in use again only after all faults are cleared.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. In case of accidents, cut off electricity when cleaning the machine;
  2. Every time after use, clean the machine with a wet towel. Don't use erosive detergent. Pay special attention when cleaning operation panel, since if water is let inside, electric parts will be damaged and there will be short circuit.
  3. Do not wash the machine directly with running water.
  4. Water must be drained out of the tank after it is cooled down.
