Unpack your trussing.

Before you initial start-up, please make sure that there is no damage caused by transportation. Should there be any, consult your dealer and do not use the trussing.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This trussing has left our premises in absolutely perfect condition. In order to maintain this condition and to ensure a safe operation, it is absolutely necessary for the user to follow the safety instructions and warning notes written in this user manual.

Important:

Damages caused by the disregard of this user manual are not subject to warranty. The dealer will not accept liability for any resulting defects or problems.

OPERATING DETERMINATIONS

This trussing is an aluminium construction only designed for decoration purposes.

DANGER TO LIFE!

This trussing must never be used for carrying other devices - e. g. lighting effects..

This product was designed for indoor use only.

This trussing is designed for professional use, e.g. on stages, in discotheques, theatres etc.

Make sure that the area below the installation place is blocked when rigging, derigging or servicing the trussing.

Always fix lowered trussings with an appropriate safety-rope.

Please consider that unauthorized modifications on the trussing are forbidden due to safety reasons!

Never remove the serial barcode from the trussing as this would make the guarantee void.

If this trussing will be used in any way different to the one described in this manual, the product may suffer damages and the guarantee becomes void. Furthermore, any other operation may lead to dangers like short-circuit, burns, electric shock, crash etc.

Please consider the DIN 15560 and the respective national norms during the installation! The installation must only be carried out by an authorized dealer!

The installation of the trussing has to be built and constructed in a way that it can hold 10 times the weight for 1 hour without any harming deformation.

The installation must always be secured with a secondary safety attachment, e.g. an appropriate catch net. This secondary safety attachment must be constructed in a way that no part of the installation can fall down if the main attachment fails.

When rigging, derigging or servicing the device staying in the area below the installation place, on bridges, under high working places and other endangered areas is forbidden.

The operator has to make sure that safety-relating and machine-technical installations are approved by an expert before taking into operation for the first time and after changes before taking into operation another time.

Procedure:

IMPORTANT! OVERHEAD RIGGING REQUIRES EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE, including (but not limited to) calculating working load limits, installation material being used, and periodic safety inspection of all installation material and the device. If you lack these qualifications, do not attempt the installation yourself, but instead use a professional structural rigger. Improper installation can result in bodily injury and or damage to property.

Caution: Devices in hanging installations may cause severe injuries when crashing down! If you have doubts concerning the safety of a possible installation, do NOT install the device!

Before rigging make sure that the installation area can hold a minimum point load of 10 times the installation's weight.

For overhead use, always install a safety-rope that can hold at least 12 times the weight of the fixture. You must only use safety-ropes with quick link with screw cap.

The maximum drop distance must never exceed 20 cm.

A safety rope which already hold the strain of a crash or which is defective must not be used again.

Mounting Instructions

Parts of DECO-TRUSS have to be connected with three conusses each. It is very important that all connection-tubes are fixed in the tubes and the screws are tightened. Please read the information below.

Important:

Please check on a regular basis all parts of DECO-TRUSS for damage and proper connections. Damaged DECO-TRUSS parts must not be used anymore! Every change at the trussing (new drillholes are also considered to be changes) will also change the statics and structural characteristics and must be inspected by a structural engineer.

With several pieces you can build a complex construction. Please pay attention to ensure a proper connection between two or more pieces and obey the structural regulations for one or more pieces. This may vary depending on the construction purpose and place.

Please get the construction inspected and load-calculated. The load-capacity of one piece or the whole system depends on a number of details like punctual load, distributed load, wind load or even more specific loads of your specific construction, so a specialist has to calculate your design.
There may be special governmental regulations for building constructions. For use in public places (theatres, discos, stages) you have to apply special technical regulations depending on the purpose.
In case a DECO-TRUSS piece or system is used above the public, or if people can move or stand below the DECO-TRUSS construction, you have to check if this is allowed at this site.
◆ Building DECO-TRUSS constructions can mean very high point loads, so please check the surface if it can accept these loads.
◆ Please check special regulations for DECO-TRUSS usage with stands and motors.

Above mentioned regulations shall inform you of the duties of a constructor or user of a trussing, but may not be complete. Depending on the place or purpose of the usage there could be more rules and regulations to obey.

To follow these rules and regulations it might be necessary to get the construction inspected and approved by a governmental representative or /and a structural engineer. Depending on the usage it might be necessary to have the construction inspected on a regular basis by an engineer.

Please be informed that only you as an erector and also the user of a DECO-TRUSS piece or DECO-TRUSS construction is responsible for following the structural and all other regulations. Please keep this instruction and give a copy also to third parties, owners or users of the DECO-TRUSS piece or DECO-TRUSS construction together with structural approvals, or, if necessary, the approvals of the official authorities.
