What to do if the computer does not start?

First, check the power indicator. If it is off, make sure the power cord is plugged in and the voltage selector is correct. If the indicator is on, remove any non-system disk and restart with Ctrl+Alt+Del. If the problem persists, use the startup disk created during Windows installation.

The screen stays black, what to do?

The screen saver may be active. Press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse. If that does not work, restart the computer. If the problem persists, contact technical support.

The printer does not work with the computer.

Check that the printer is on and properly connected to the parallel or USB port. Refer to the printer documentation for more information.

No sound comes out of the computer.

Check the volume icon in the taskbar: if it is crossed out, click on it and disable Mute. Also ensure that no headphones or external speakers are plugged into the output jack, as this disables the internal speakers.

The computer cannot read a CD or DVD.

Check that the disc is inserted correctly, is clean and not scratched. Test with a disc in good condition. If the problem persists, the drive may be defective; contact technical support.

How to clean the computer?
