Frequently Asked Questions - Vivace JC-1212 Joycare

What weight and age is the Joycare Vivace JC-1212 suitable for?
The seat is approved for children from 9 kg to 36 kg (approximately 9 months to 11 years), covering Groups I, II, and III.
Can I install this car seat using a 2-point seat belt?
No, you must use a 3-point lap and diagonal belt. A 2-point belt is not safe and may cause incorrect installation.
How do I adjust the headrest height?
Pull the handle behind the headrest and slide it up or down. The headrest is correctly positioned when the child's head rests comfortably in the middle.
Do I need to use the integrated harness for older children?
For Group I (9-18 kg), use the harness. For Groups II and III (15-36 kg), remove the harness and secure the child with the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.
How do I clean the seat cover?
Wash by hand with neutral detergent and warm water (30°C). Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
Can I use this seat in the front passenger seat?
Joycare recommends using the seat in the back seat for safety. If using the front seat, ensure the airbag is deactivated and the seat is pushed back as far as possible.
What should I do if the car seat is involved in an accident?
The seat must be replaced if the vehicle has been subjected to violent stress, even if no damage is visible.
How can I convert the seat to booster mode?
Remove the backrest (Fig. 1 in manual) to use as a booster for Group III (22-36 kg). Secure the booster with the 3-point belt and place the lap belt under the armrest.
Is the seat approved for use on airplanes?
The manual shows an illustration suggesting it may be used on aircraft, but verify with the airline. Always follow the instructions for correct belt routing.
How do I tighten the harness properly?
Press the adjuster button and pull the front straps to loosen, then pull the adjustment strap to tighten. Ensure the harness is snug but not uncomfortable, with the buckle away from the child's stomach.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read this user guide carefully before installing the child seat and for future reference. Many accidents can be easily avoided, are caused by negligence and misuse.

• These instructions must be kept on the car seat for the entire period of use in case of incorporated retention devices.

- Do not use the seat in the house. It is not for domestic use and should only be used in cars.

- Before you travel, check that the car seat is properly secured.

- Do not modify the car seat in any way.

- Never leave a child unattended without supervision.

• In an emergency, it is important that the child is released quickly. This means that the buckle can be easily opened and teach the child not to play with it.

- Ensure that all parts are properly secured and that they not remain stuck in the doors or folding seats.

- Luggage or other objects that can cause injury in an accident must be properly locked and secured.

- The cover of the seat must be replaced with another cover recommended by the manufacturer.

- Periodically check the harness, paying particular attention to the locking points, seams and adjustable straps.

- Do not use the seat if it is damaged or loose as a result of an accident.

- The back of the seat should rest flat against the back of the car seat. If necessary, adjust the headrest of the seat.

• We recommend using the seat in the back seat of the car.

- The harness should remain taut and close to the body. If the child is wearing bulky items, you should take them off for more tension, thus ensuring the child's safety. To avoid any risk of falling, your child must always be fastened tightly to the seat.

- According to UN/ECE Regulation No. 16 or equivalent, you must fasten the child seat to the car seat with the car's seat belts. Only 3-point seatbelts must be used.
