How do I change the heat setting on my Kalorik KA CH 2 heater?

Turn the mode dial to select between Cool Air, Low Heat, and High Heat positions.

Does the KA CH 2 have a thermostat?

Yes, it features an adjustable thermostat. Rotate the thermostat knob to set your desired temperature; the heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain it.

How do I clean the filter?

Remove the filter cover on the back, take out the filter, and wash it with mild soap and water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Clean monthly.

What safety features does this heater have?

It includes overheat protection and a tip-over switch that automatically turns off the unit if it falls over.

Can I leave the heater unattended?

It is recommended to never leave the heater unattended while in use. Always turn it off and unplug when leaving the room.

Why does the fan keep running after I turn off the heat?

The heater has a cool-down function. The fan will continue to run for a short period to cool internal components, then shut off automatically.

What is the maximum room size for this heater?

The Kalorik KA CH 2 is suitable for rooms up to 20 square meters (approximately 215 square feet).

Does the heater oscillate?

Yes, the heater has an oscillation feature. Press the oscillation button to start wide-angle oscillation (70°) for better heat distribution.

How do I reset the heater after an overheat shutdown?

Unplug the heater, wait 15-20 minutes for it to cool down, then plug it back in and turn it on. The safety reset is automatic.

Can I use an extension cord with this heater?

It is recommended to plug the heater directly into a wall outlet. If an extension cord is necessary, use a heavy-duty cord rated for at least 15 amps.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

☐ Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance.
☐ Do not leave the heater unattended during operation and keep children away.
From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service (*)
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. When cleaning the appliance, refer to the instructions in the paragraph "Cleaning and maintenance" because the water penetration through the openings can be very dangerous for your appliance.
☐ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning, replacing a bulb or when you do not use the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply. Do not attempt to remove the plug from the wall socket with wet hands.
□ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
☐ Stand the appliance on a stable surface so that it cannot fall.
☐ Do not place the appliance under a power socket. The power socket must not be in the hot airflow of the appliance.
□ Always position the heater in such a way that inflammable materials (such as curtains) cannot be ignited. Ensure at all times that the unit is placed solidly on its base/feet. Make sure that the air inlet and outlet openings are not blocked.
To avoid any risk of fire, do not cover the heater (ex. With clothes)

☐ Warning: Do not operate the heater near baths, showers, washbasins, swimming pools or any other water container. It must be impossible to reach the commands of your appliance when you are in contact with water.
☐ The temperature of the housing and the grids may be very high when the appliance is in use. Avoid contact with the skin.
☐ Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot part of the appliance.
□ Never use the appliance near inflammable or explosive materials.
☐ Do not insert any objects through the grille or into the interior of the appliance.
☐ Do not use double adapters or other appliances to connect with heater.

(*) Competent qualified service: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this service.

INSTALLATION

The heater should only be installed at a minimum distance of 1 meter from any piece of furniture or other object and combustibles.

This fireplace heater can also be installed in a standard fireplace hole, but make sure to keep at least 20 cm of free space around the appliance (rear and sides).

Once you have installed the main unit where you desired, attach the front panel. To do so, insert the pins of the panel in the bolts foreseen to this effect on the appliance (fig. 1, page 4)

REMOTE CONTROL

• In order to be able to use the remote control, you first have to insert the batteries in it. To do so:
• Open the battery compartment by pressing on the cover and sliding this cover down.
• Insert the batteries, making sure you respect the + and - polarity.
• Close the compartment by sliding the cover in the opposite direction. Use 2 AAA-type batteries of 1.5 V. Never mix up new and old batteries or batteries of different types.
• When you decide to throw away the appliance, make sure to remove the battery and to dispose of it in an ecological manner by handing it in a place intended for this end.

Caution: if you don't use your remote control for a long time, it is recommended to remove the batteries because they could run.

OPERATION

• Always put the plug in an earthed power outlet.

- You can operate the appliance by means of the control panel on the appliance or with the remote control. The controls panel is located in the upper part of the frame of the fireplace, behind the protection grid. To reach it, simply pull at the upper part of the grid to open it (fig.2, page 4).

- Once plugged in, switch on the appliance by pressing the on/off button of the control panel or remote control. A beep will sound and the power indication light comes on. The appliance will start operating without heating. To adjust the flame effect, press the "up" button to increase the intensity and the "down" button to decrease the intensity. A beep will sound and the corresponding pilot light will flash.

Heating function:

Note: When first used, the heater may release a slight, harmless odour. This odour is a normal occurrence caused by the initial heating of the internal heating elements and will not occur again.

• If you want to switch on the heating function, press the "heater" button of the control panel or remote control.
• The fan will start to operate 5 seconds at first, then the heater will start operating in low grade and the "L" pilot light flashes.
• To increase the heating intensity, press the "heater" button again to rise up to high grade. The "H" pilot light flashes. To come back to low temperature, press the heater button again.
• An internal safety device will test the fan. If the fan is out of control, the heater will stop operating. The "H" and "L" pilot lights will flash simultaneously to warn about a problem with the heater. The flame effect will still operate. In case of heating problem, please check if the air inlet and outlet grids are not obstructed, switch off and unplug the appliance. Then plug in and switch on again. The "H" and "L" pilot lights will stop flashing after the problem

has been resolved. Should the problem persist, please contact a competent qualified technician.

• The heater remembers the last status while turning it on for a second time.
- After switch off, the fan will continue operating for about 30 seconds. This is perfectly normal.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning: The unit must be unplugged from the power supply prior to any maintenance or cleaning in order to reduce the risk electric shock or fire.

A. Light bulb replacement procedure

Like all light bulbs, bulbs require periodic replacement. When the bulbs in your unit have burned out you will notice one or more of the following:

• The flame is dim or dark in certain areas
• The log set ember bed appears dim or dark in certain areas

Your unit must be opened in order to replace the light bulbs. To reduce the number of times you need to open the unit, replace all the lights bulbs at the same time if they are close to the end of their rated life.

Warnings:

• The light bulbs in your unit can become extremely hot. Allow at least 10 minutes between turning off the unit and removing the light bulbs to avoid the accidental burning of the skin.
  • Always make sure to replace the bulbs by a bulb with exactly the same features.

Replacing bulbs (see figures page 4 & 5)

Below the log ember bed there are three light bulbs. DO NOT MOVE THE APPLIANCE WHEN IT IS WORKING. To replace them, proceed as follows:

• Remove the decorative front panel by simply pulling at it.
• Unscrew the two screws situated at the left and right side of the appliance, at the upper end of the glass (fig. 3.).
  • Incline the glass (fig. 4, step 1) and take it out (fig. 4, step 2).
• When the glass is removed, remove the log ember bed by pulling at it (fig. 5).
• You now have access to the bulbs (fig. 6). Unscrew them anticlockwise and replace them by identical bulbs.
  • Once this is done, reassemble the appliance by proceeding the other way around.

B. General cleaning instructions

• The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-fee cloth.; do not use any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool.
• Do not use detergents or cleaning products.
• If necessary, dust particles accumulated in the air outlet openings may be removed with a vacuum cleaner.
