How do I power on the Karma STROBE 37LED?

Connect the included power cord to a suitable AC outlet (100-240V). Flip the power switch on the back of the unit to the ON position. The LED indicators will light up.

How to adjust the strobe speed?

Use the Speed potentiometer on the rear panel. Turn clockwise to increase flash rate (up to 20 Hz) and counterclockwise to decrease (down to 1 Hz).

Can I use this strobe light outdoors?

No, the STROBE 37LED has an IP20 rating and is designed for indoor use only. Exposure to moisture or dust may damage the unit.

How long do the LEDs last?

The LEDs have an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours under normal operating conditions. After this period, brightness may gradually decrease.

How to reset to factory settings?

This model does not have a digital menu or DMX, so there is no factory reset function. Power cycling the unit resets any manual settings.

Does this light support DMX control?

No, the STROBE 37LED is a basic model without DMX support. Control is limited to onboard pots and sound activation.

How do I mount the strobe light?

The unit has a mounting bracket with a threaded hole (standard 5/8-inch) for attaching to a tripod, light stand, or hanging clamp. Ensure the bracket is tightened securely.

What is the beam angle?

The beam angle is approximately 120 degrees, providing wide coverage suitable for stage or party lighting.

Is it suitable for photography?

Yes, it can be used as a background effect or accent strobe. However, it is not a continuous light; ensure you adjust shutter speed accordingly.

The strobe is not flashing. What should I check?

First, verify the power cord is plugged in and the switch is ON. Check that the Speed knob is not turned fully counterclockwise (minimum). If still not working, try connecting a microphone to the sound input (if available) or contact Karma support.

CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

• This device works with dangerous 110 - 230V mains power. Do not open, do not disassemble and don't try to operate inside it. In case of wrong use an electric shock may occur.
• The installation of the product must be carried out exclusively by specialized technicians. In case of wrong installation or connections, the manufacturer doesn't take any responsibility for damages to people or objects.
• Make sure that your power outlet voltage matches with the voltage indicated on the product. A wrong voltage would seriously damage the fixture.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

2) MOUNT BRACKET

It can be used to place the light effect on any surface or mount it on stands. Loosen the knobs (3), adjust the brackets correctly, the tighten the knobs again.

3) KNOBS

Tighten them to fix the bracker in the desired position.

4) POWER IN

Connect to this socket the power cable.

The plug on the other side is to be connected to an ordinary 110 or 220V electrical power outlet, according to your country's voltage.

5) FUSE HOLDER

If the light doesn't turn on, disconnect the power cable from the socket (4), then extract the fuse from the fuse holder and check it. If necessary replace it with one of the same amperage.

6) AIR VENT

Avoid opening this opening, necessary for internal ventilation of the fixture.

7) DMX IN SOCKET

You can connect here the 3 pin DMX cable coming from a DMX controller or another fixture connected to a DMX system

8) DMX OUT SOCKET

Thanks to this socket you can connect another fixture to the DMX system.

9) DISPLAY

It shows the main functions and allows, by means of the below keys, to set the fixture.

10) CONTROL KEYS

They are used to control all the functions of the fixture. Thanks to the MODE button you can select the setting to be changed: press repeatedly to skip from on function to another. Thanks to the UP and DOWN keys it is possible to select the available options, while by means of the ENTER button the selected value can be confirmed. For more details on the menu functions refer to chart one on the following page.

INTRODUCTION TO DMX CONNECTIONS

In a DMX 512 connection there are 512 available channels. Each DMX fixture uses one or more channels to manage its functions. The user must assign a starting address to each DMX fixture connected to the system. This address will indicate the first channel used by the controller. You have to plan the starting address choice in order to avoid the channels' overlapping. Otherwise the fixture wouldn't work correctly.

Example: If you need to connect 3 DMX fixtures, each with 10 channels, the first unit is to be set on address 1, the second unit on address 11 and the third one on address 21. Anyway you can set the same starting address on more devices if you wish them to operate in synchrony. DMX devices are conceived to receive data through a serial Daisy Chain connection. With this kind of connection the data output of a fixture is connected to the data input of the following one. The connection order of the devices is not important and it doesn't affect on how the controller interacts with each of them. We suggest to put them in the easiest and most direct sequence for cable connection. The signal cable length should not be more than 100 m to avoid interferences with other signals or electric devices. To set the address you want to assign to the fixture (from 001 to 512), press the MENU key until the display shows the symbol "d" or "A". Then, by means of the UP and DOWN keys, set the address and confirm with ENTER.

To operate correctly with DMX systems it is necessary to know the number of channels available on each connected fixture and the function of these channels.

This fixture features 2 DMX modes, with 8 channels each.

The charts 2 and 3 show the functions related to each channel in DMX mode.

Before using the fixture it would be advisable to take a specific course on DMX systems for full understanding of its potential and functions.
