Why is my rice hard or half-cooked?

This is usually due to improper water-to-rice ratio. Ensure you use the measuring cup provided and add water up to the corresponding water level mark inside the pan. Also, rinse the rice until the water runs relatively clear before cooking.

What causes the rice to be too soft or water to overflow?

Too much water or inadequate rinsing can cause soft rice or overflow. Follow the water level indicators and rinse rice thoroughly. Additionally, avoid opening the lid during cooking.

Why is the rice scorched at the bottom?

Scorching can occur if foreign matter is stuck between the pan and the heating plate, or if the pan has scratches. Ensure the pan bottom is clean and dry before use, and use the recommended water amount.

How do I steam food using the steaming basket?

Add 2 cups of water (using the measuring cup) to the pan, place the steaming basket inside, add food, close the lid, plug in, and press the switch to cook. The cooker will automatically switch to keep warm when water evaporates. For best results, do not cook more than 6 cups of rice simultaneously.

How do I cook porridge?

Use 1 cup of rice and 10 cups of water (measured with the provided cup). Place in pan, close lid, select 'Porridge' on the switch, and press down. The cooker will continue cooking until you manually switch it off (2-4 hours). Stir occasionally if desired.

How long can I keep rice warm?

The keep warm function should not exceed 5 hours. Longer warming can cause discoloration and bad smell. Also, do not keep warm small amounts of rice.

How do I clean the steam cap?

After the cooker cools down, pull off the steam cap. Turn the valve holder counterclockwise to remove it, wash with a damp cloth, and reassemble by aligning arrows and turning clockwise.

What should I do if the heating plate has stuck food?

Lightly polish the heating plate with fine sandpaper (#600) or steel wool to remove residue, then wipe with a damp cloth. Ensure pan bottom is always clean to prevent damage.

Why does the rice cooker make unusual noise?

Noise often occurs if there is water between the pan and heating plate. Dry the pan exterior and heating plate thoroughly before use to prevent damage.

Can I cook other foods besides rice?

HOW TO USE (Rice Cooking)

1. Measure rice with the measuring cup provided (refer to the specifications table on last page). Wash the rice in a separate bowl until water is relatively clear.

1. Put the washed rice into the pan. Add water according to the water level indicator on the pan. For example, when cooking 5 cups of rice, pour water until water level indicator "5".

The water level indicator of the pan is for reference. Adjust the amount of water to your personal taste. Level the rice evenly after water adjustment is completed.

1. Place the pan into the body. Make sure that the pan is directly in contact with heating plate by turning it slightly to the right and to the left until it sits properly.

NOTE: If the outer surface of the pan is wet, it may cause a cracking noise when the rice cooker heats up. This may damage the rice cooker, so make sure that it is in dry condition before use.

1. Close the outer lid until it clicks. Please make sure that the steam cap is properly attached.

NOTE: If the outer lid is not closed securely, the cooking effi ciency will be affected.

1. Attach the connector to the rice cooker socket and plug to the power supply source.

NOTE: Do not plug in until just before start to cook.

1. Press the select switch to 'Rice' and switch on the power supply source. The keeping warm indicator will light up when power supply source is 'ON'. To start cooking, press the switch button down. Cooking indicator will light up, indicating that rice cooking has been started.

NOTE: If the pan is not placed in body, the switch button cannot be engaged when press down. Be aware of the hot steam comes out from the steam cap on top of the outer lid during cooking. Do not cover the outer lid with a cloth or anything during cooking or keeping warm because deformation or discoloration may occur.

1. When the cooking is completed, the switch button will pop up. At the same time, the cooking indicator will goes off and the keeping warm indicator will light up indicating that the keep warm function has been taken place. The outer lid should remain closed even after the cooking process is completed for at least 15 minutes. Then mix the rice well with rice scoop to allow vapor to escape.

NOTE: • After the cooking process is completed, the keep warm process will take place automatically until the main supply is off.

- Open the outer lid slowly as to avoid water dripping out from the outer lid.

- The switch button should not be pressed into the cooking position during the keep warm cycle.

- Do not keep warm for more than 5 hours.

- Do not close the outer lid with the rice sticking to the rim of the pan. It will reduce the effectiveness of the keep warm operation.

1. When you do not wish to keep warm, switch off the power supply source and unplug.

To Keep Cooked Rice Warm and Tasty

• For better cooking performance and avoid burnt at the bottom, minimum rice cooking is 3 cups.
• Rinse the rice until it becomes relatively clear.
  • After the rice has been steamed and warmed, scoop and mix the rice gently.
• Do not leave the rice scoop inside the pan.
• Do not warm the rice for more than 5 hours. (It may result in color change and bad smell.)
• Do not use the rice cooker to warm other kinds of food.
• Do not warm cold rice.

Note:

Variations in the room temperature may cause the rice to discolor and lose its fresh smell.

Unplug the rice cooker when it is not used.

Clean the dew collector by pouring out the water and cleaning after every use.

HOW TO STEAM FOOD (Using the Steaming Basket)

1. With the measuring cup provided, put 2 cups of water into the pan.

2. Place the Steaming basket into the pan.

Place food into the steaming basket. (Place the food in separate dish if required)

- If the outer surface of the pan is wet, it may cause a cracking noise when the rice cooker heats up. This may damage the rice cooker, so make sure that it is in dry condition before use.

• Make sure that the steam cap is properly attached.

1. Close the outer lid until it clicks.

Please make sure that the steam cap is properly attached. Attach the connector to the rice cooker socket and plug to the power supply source. Press the switch button to cooking function. The cooking indicator will light up.

- If outer lid is not securely closed, steaming efficiency will be affected.

- Do not plug in until just before start to steam.

- If the pan is not in the body, steaming will not begin.

- Press the select switch to 'Rice' before press the switch button to cooking function.

1. Steaming period is done manually by checking the condition of the food from time to time.

* This rice cooker will automatically switch to keeping warm when the water inside the pan becomes empty.

* Open the outer lid slowly as to avoid water dripping out from the outer lid.

1. When steaming is completed, turn off the rice cooker by switching off the power supply source and unplug,

- The keeping warm function continues until the power supply source is switched off.

1. Take the food out, followed by steaming basket, and finally pour out the water from the pan.

Remarks

Wait until the food cools down and no steam is coming from the steam cap before opening the outer lid.

Then check whether the food is cooked as desired.

When rice is cooked while steaming food, do not cook over 6 cups of rice and do not open the outer lid until the rice is cooked.

(It is better to select the food that has a steaming time similar to the time for cooking rice.)

HOW TO USE (Porridge Cooking)

1. Measure rice with the measuring cup provided (refer to the specifications table below). Wash the rice in a separate bowl until water is relatively clear.

How to Clean

• Be sure to unplug and carry out these operations when the rice cooker is cooled down.
• DO NOT use objects such as benzene, thinner, cleansing powder or metal scrubbers.

Wash with a dishwashing detergent or soft cloth. Wipe off any moisture on the outside.

Heating Plate / Thermostat / Thermostat for Porridge

If an object has stuck on the heating plate, lightly polish it off using fi ne sand paper (of about # 600) / steel wool. Then wipe with a damp cloth.

■ How to remove and clean

1. Pull off the steam cap to remove it as shown in the figure.

1. Remove the valve holder by turning it counterclockwise. Wash and wipe with a damp cloth.

1. Wipe the inside of the hole and heating plate with a damp cloth.

• Please wipe it whenever you use it.
- Please do not remove the steam cap when the rice cooker is in use.

How to assemble the steam cap

1. Insert the valve holder into the steam cap by aligning arrow mark of the valve holder A with the steam cap B and turn it clockwise until it sets properly.
2. Put the steam cap into the hole of the outer lid.
