How do I set the desired temperature on the Kalorik KA CH 9?

Turn the thermostat dial clockwise to increase the temperature. The heater will stop heating once the room reaches the set temperature and restart when it drops.

What should I do if the heater stops working suddenly?

Check if the tip-over switch was triggered (stand upright again) or if the overheat protection activated. Allow the appliance to cool down, then restart. Also check the power cord and outlet.

How do I clean the dust filter?

Unplug the heater. Remove the filter cover (usually at the back), take out the washable filter, rinse it under lukewarm water, let it dry completely, then reinstall.

Can I use the heater in a bathroom?

The KA CH 9 is not designed for high-humidity areas. Keep it away from water sources and avoid using it in damp environments to prevent electric shock.

What is the difference between the two heat settings?

Low heat provides 1000 W for gentle warmth, while high heat provides 2000 W for faster heating. The fan-only mode circulates air without heating.

How do I activate the oscillation feature?

Press the oscillation button (or turn the oscillation knob) on the side of the heater. The unit will begin to swing side to side for broader heat distribution.

Is the heater safe to leave on overnight?

While it has overheat protection and a tip-over switch, it is recommended not to leave it unattended for extended periods. Always follow the safety instructions in the manual.

Why does the heater emit a burning smell when first used?

A slight burning smell is normal during initial use as the heating element burns off dust and manufacturing residues. Ensure good ventilation and the smell should dissipate after a few hours.

How do I store the heater during summer?

Clean the filter and wipe the exterior. Unplug the cord and store the heater in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not wrap the cord tightly around the unit.

What is the maximum room size suitable for this heater?

The Kalorik KA CH 9 is designed for small to medium rooms up to approximately 20 m² (215 ft²). For larger spaces, consider using additional heating.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance.
☐ Do not leave the heater unattended during operation and keep children away.
From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service (*)
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. When cleaning the appliance, refer to the instructions in the paragraph "Cleaning and maintenance" because the water penetration through the openings can be very dangerous for your appliance.
□ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning, replacing a bulb or when you do not use the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply. Do not attempt to remove the plug from the wall socket with wet hands.
□ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
☐ Stand the appliance on a stable surface so that it cannot fall.
☐ Do not place the appliance under a power socket. The power socket must not be in the hot airflow of the appliance in order to avoid overheating.
□ Always position the heater in such a way that inflammable materials (such as curtains) cannot be ignited. Ensure at all times that the unit is placed solidly on its base. Make sure that the air inlet and outlet openings are not blocked.
To avoid any risk of fire, do not cover the heater (ex. With clothes).
☐ The heater should only be operated at a minimum distance of 1 meter from any wall, piece of furniture or other object and combustibles.
☐ Warning: Do not operate the heater near baths, showers, washbasins, swimming pools or any other water container. It must be impossible to reach the commands of your appliance when you are in contact with water.
☐ The temperature of the housing and the grids may be very high when the appliance is in use. Avoid contact with the skin.
☐ Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot part of the appliance.
□ Never use the appliance near inflammable or explosive materials.
☐ Do not insert any objects through the grille or into the interior of the appliance.
☐ Do not use double adapters or other appliances to connect with heater.

(1) Competent qualified service: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this service.

INSTALLATION

The heater should only be installed at a minimum distance of 1 meter from any wall, piece of furniture or other object and combustibles.

Thanks to its wheels, the appliance can be moved easily. However, in order to avoid danger, never move the appliance when it is operating. Always unplug it before moving it.

Always put the plug in an earthed power outlet.

OPERATION

• The fireplace can be used without the heater function, which means you can appreciate the marvellous fire effect throughout the year.
• Warm air comes into the room through the protecting grid below the small iron grid on the front bottom of the appliance.

The control panel is located in the upper part of the frame of the fireplace.

BATTERIES

• In order to be able to use the remote control, you first have to insert the batteries in it. To do so:
• Open the battery compartment.
• Insert the batteries, making sure you respect the + and - polarity.
• Close the compartment. Use 2 AAA-type batteries of 1.5 V. Never mix up new and old batteries or batteries of different types.
• When you decide to throw away the appliance, make sure to remove the battery and to dispose of it in an ecological manner by handing it in a place intended for this end.

Caution: if you don't use your remote control for a long time, it is recommended to remove the batteries because they could run.

USE

When the appliance is switched on for the first time, a slight smell may be emitted. Please ensure sufficient ventilation. This smell will disappear very quickly.

To operate the fireplace, you can either use the control panel or the remote control.

1. Place the fireplace on a firm level surface.

2. Plug in the appliance.

3. Turn the fireplace ON by pressing the ON/OFF button of the remote control or control panel. The power light will come on indicating that the appliance is switched on and the fireplace effect will be on. The power light will remain lighted until the unit is switched off.

4. Pressing the "FAN (650)" button at this point will set the heater into LOW HEAT mode. The "S" pilot light will illuminate.

5. Pressing the '1300/1950W' button will set the heater into MEDIUM HEAT mode, the "M" pilot light will turn on. Pressing a second time sets the heater in HIGH HEAT mode, the "L" pilot light will come on.

NOTE: The "1300/1950W" button will not be active if the HEAT mode has not been set beforehand (i.e. if you have not pressed the "FAN (650)" button and the "S" pilot light is not on).

NOTE: If you switch off the fireplace heater with the ON/OFF switch, the set heat mode will be saved for next use, i.e. the next time you will switch on your heater, it will start heating directly at the previously set heat mode. If you unplug the appliance, all previous settings will be deleted.

Timer function

By pressing the "TIMER" button on the control panel or of the remote control, you can set the switch-off time of the appliance. The timer is adjustable from 0.5 hour (min) up to 7.5 hours (max). Every pressing corresponds to 0.5 hour. Some settings will switch on several pilot lights. For instance, if you select 1 hour and 30 minutes, the pilot lights corresponding to 0.5h and 1h will be on.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning: The unit must be unplugged from the power supply prior to any maintenance or cleaning in order to reduce the risk electric shock or fire.

A. Light bulb replacement procedure

Like all light bulbs, bulbs require periodic replacement. When the bulbs in your unit have burned out you will notice one or more of the following:

• The flame is dim or dark in certain areas
• The log set ember bed appears dim or dark in certain areas

Your unit must be opened in order to replace the light bulbs. To reduce the number of times you need to open the unit, replace all the lights bulbs at the same time if they are close to the end of their rated life.

Warnings:

• The light bulbs in your unit can become extremely hot. Allow at least 10 minutes between turning off the unit and removing the light bulbs to avoid the accidental burning of the skin.
  • Always make sure to replace the bulbs by a bulb with exactly the same features.

Replacing bulbs (see figures page 4-5)

Below the log ember bed there are two light bulbs. To replace them, proceed as follows:

• Lay down the appliance very carefully.
• Unscrew the two screws situated at the left and right end of the metallic plate of the control panel (fig. 1).
• Remove the metal fixing bar from the window (fig. 2). Then slowly tilt the glass outwards and pull it out of the lower slot (fig. 3).
• When the glass is removed, remove the log ember bed by taking its lugs out of the slots and lifting it (fig. 4).
• You now have access to the bulbs (fig. 5). Unscrew them and replace them by identical bulbs.
• Once this is done, reassemble the appliance by proceeding the other way around. Make sure the plastic gaskets are correctly positioned on both sides of the glass (fig. 6).

B. General cleaning instructions

• The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-fee cloth. Do not use any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool.
• Do not use detergents or cleaning products.
• If necessary, dust particles accumulated in the air outlet openings may be removed with a vacuum cleaner.

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the

implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol — the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.
