Frequently Asked Questions - CS-2X CASIO

How do I clean my Casio CS-2X keyboard?
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaners. For sticky keys, lightly dampen the cloth with water and wring it out thoroughly before wiping.
What type of power supply does the CS-2X use?
The keyboard can be powered by either the optional Casio AD-E95100 AC adapter or six AA alkaline batteries. Never use rechargeable batteries unless specifically recommended by Casio.
How many keys does the CS-2X have?
It has 61 full-size touch-sensitive keys, which provide dynamic response to your playing style.
Can I connect the CS-2X to my computer?
Yes, via the built-in USB-MIDI port. This allows you to use the keyboard with music software, recording apps, or virtual instruments.
Why is there no sound coming from my CS-2X?
First, check the volume knob and ensure it is turned up. Make sure the headphones are not plugged in (if you want external sound). Also, verify that the power is on and batteries are fresh or the AC adapter is connected properly.
Does the CS-2X have a sustain pedal input?
Yes, there is a jack for a standard sustain pedal (footswitch). This enhances playability by allowing notes to ring out after releasing keys.
How do I change the built-in tones?
Use the Tone button and then select a tone number using the numeric keypad or the +/- buttons. The selected tone name will appear on the LCD display.
What is the polyphony of the CS-2X?
It has 48-note polyphony, meaning you can play up to 48 notes simultaneously. This includes sustained notes and layered sounds, so it may reduce when using richer tones.
Can I use batteries and AC adapter at the same time?
No, you should only use one power source at a time. Remove batteries when using the AC adapter to avoid leakage or damage.
Where can I find spare parts for the CS-2X?
Contact an authorized Casio service center for genuine replacement parts. The user manual also lists part numbers. Do not attempt to repair yourself unless qualified.
