USER MANUAL FMR Bogen
FMR
FM Radio Receiver
The Bogen Model FMR is a wall-mounting FM radio designed to furnish background music in paging systems and for music-on-hold applications. It operates from a 12V DC or 24V DC power source and has a line-level output for connection to a paging amplifier or paging control device. A separate 1-watt output is provided to drive an external amplifier speaker.
A tuning dial selects the desired frequency. A built-in speaker facilitates tuning and AFC circuitry prevents signal drift. A screwdriver-adjustable tone control and separate volume controls are provided for the outputs. Switches select power ON/OFF, internal or external antenna (telescoping antenna or external 300-ohm), AFC ON/OFF, and internal or external speaker (1-watt output). Screw terminals are included for connection of external antenna, 24V DC power supply, and outputs. A jack is provided to connect a receptacle-mount 12V DC power supply (not included - PRS40C recommended).

Connections
Power Supply
The unit operates from a 12V DC or 24V DC power source. If a 12V source is used, connect it to the 12V jack located on the lower side of the unit. Connect a 24V DC power supply (not included - PRS40C recommended) to the appropriate screw terminals. Be sure to observe polarity.
Antenna
The ANT switch selects the internal telescoping antenna (INT), or a user-supplied external 300-ohm antenna (EXT). Connect an external antenna to the screw terminals marked ANT 300Ω, and place the selector switch in the EXT position.
Output
Connect the LINE OUTPUT terminals to the input of the paging/BGM amplifier or page control module. The 1 WATT OUTPUT terminals are available to drive an external speaker, if desired.
Note: The SPK switch must be in the EXT position when using either output.
Operation
Power
The power ON/OFF switch applies power to the unit.
Tuning
Place the AFC switch in the OFF position. Move the SPK switch to the INT position to use the internal speaker while tuning in a station with the tuning dial. The TUNING LED illuminates when the signal is the strongest. Use the 1 WATT OUTPUT control to adjust the speaker volume, as necessary. Once a station has been tuned, place the AFC switch in the ON position and the SPK switch in the EXT position.
Tone & Output Controls
Tone: Clockwise rotation increases treble response.
Counterclockwise rotation increases bass response.
Output: Clockwise rotation increases the output volume.
Counterclockwise rotation decreases volume.
CAUTION
There are no user-serviceable parts within the unit. Have any internal servicing performed by authorized personnel only.
