Frequently Asked Questions - Clarity S-515 Valcom

How do I install the Valcom Clarity S-515 speaker?
The speaker can be mounted on a wall or ceiling using the included bracket. First, connect the audio wires to the input terminals (typically red and black). Secure the speaker to the bracket, then connect the power supply (AC 120V). Adjust the volume control as needed.
What type of audio input does the Clarity S-515 support?
It accepts a standard line-level audio input via two screw terminals. The input impedance is 8 ohms, compatible with most paging systems.
Can I use this speaker with a 70V/100V system?
The Clarity S-515 is designed for low-impedance (8 ohm) systems. For 70V/100V applications, use a matching transformer or a Valcom model specifically for constant voltage systems.
How do I adjust the volume?
There is a built-in volume control knob on the front or side of the speaker. Turn it clockwise to increase volume, counterclockwise to decrease.
What is the power consumption of the speaker?
The speaker draws less than 10W at full output power (5W RMS). Standby power consumption is negligible.
Can I daisy-chain multiple Clarity S-515 speakers?
Yes, you can connect multiple speakers in parallel as long as the total impedance does not drop below the amplifier's minimum rating. For two 8-ohm speakers in parallel, total impedance is 4 ohms.
How do I clean the speaker?
Use a soft dry cloth to dust the exterior. Do not use water or cleaning solvents, as they may damage the grille or electronics.
What is the warranty period?
Valcom offers a limited one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Contact Valcom support for claim procedures.
Why is there no sound from the speaker?
Check the power connection (AC cord) and ensure the volume knob is not at minimum. Verify the audio source is active and connected properly. Also check that the input wires are securely fastened.
Where can I find the user manual?
The manual can be downloaded for free from notice-facile.com or the Valcom website. It includes installation instructions, specifications, and troubleshooting tips.

MOUNTING

The baffle provides two methods of mounting:

  1. The baffle can be suspended from a nail or hook by a "hanger" that is attached to the housing. See Figure 2.
  2. The unit can be attached to a wall using two mounting bosses. The distance between the mounting boss hole centers is 8.5". Remove cover and secure baffle to wall with screws. This mounting provides better low frequency response for music and a more secure attachment to the wall. See Figure 3.
