Frequently Asked Questions - BH10870 Bass Polska

What type of oil should I use?
Use a high smoke point oil such as canola, peanut, or sunflower oil. Avoid using olive oil as it has a low smoke point and may produce smoke.
Can I fry frozen food directly?
Yes, but it is recommended to thaw food first to reduce oil splatter. If frying frozen food, remove excess ice and fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature.
How do I clean the deep fryer?
Unplug and let cool. Remove the oil container and basket. Wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. The basket and container are dishwasher safe. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
How often should I change the oil?
Change oil after 8-10 uses or when it becomes dark, smells rancid, or smokes excessively. Filtering oil after each use can extend its life.
What is the maximum oil level?
Do not fill oil beyond the maximum line marked inside the fryer. Typically, the oil capacity is 2.5 liters. Overfilling can cause overflow when food is added.
Why does my fryer smoke during use?
Smoking can occur if the oil is old or too hot. Check that the temperature is set correctly (usually 170-180°C for most foods). Also, ensure the fryer is clean, as burnt food residues can cause smoke.
Can I use the deep fryer without oil?
No, this is a traditional deep fryer that requires oil for operation. It is not an air fryer. Using it without oil can damage the appliance and cause a fire hazard.
How do I store the oil after use?
Allow oil to cool completely, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container. Store in a cool, dark place. Do not mix old and new oil.
What should I do if the thermostat stops working?
If the fryer does not heat or overheats, check the power cord and outlet. If the issue persists, contact Bass Polska customer support for assistance. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Is the basket dishwasher safe?
Yes, both the frying basket and the oil container are dishwasher safe. However, hand washing is recommended to prolong the non-stick coating.

VII. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • Unplug the machine from the power outlet and let it cool down before cleaning. The machine will cool down faster if you remove the garbage can from the machine.
  • We recommend cleaning the machine as soon as it has cooled down, so that no residual raw materials are left behind. These are then more difficult to remove. Wash the container with the basket under running hot water with a neutral dishwashing detergent. Then rinse the parts with clean water, wipe them thoroughly dry and put them back in place.
  • If you are unable to remove any remaining raw materials from the garbage can or container, fill the container with warm water and neutral dishwashing detergent and place the garbage can in the solution. Let the solution of the water and the detergent run for about 10 minutes to allow the remaining raw materials to soak off. Then clean both parts in the usual way.
  • Ensure that no browned food remains on the removable container or the basket. Both parts must be clean before the next use.
  • Wipe the surface of the appliance with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and neutral kitchen detergent. After applying the kitchen detergent, wipe the surface of the appliance with a clean, slightly damp cloth and then wipe everything thoroughly dry.
  • Do not immerse the unit in water or other liquid.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents to clean any part of this machine.
